My FMS Pitts RC Plane Review Notes:
Pros:
- Excellent paint and decal application.
- 6S Pitts Power
- Can break down for transport with a little effort.
- Once assembled, it it built like a TANK with robust construction.
- Highly detailed panel lines and rivets.
- Only needs a 4 channel RX, so you save money there.
- The plane flies and lands WAY better than my E-flite Pitts 850mm RC Plane.
- I flew is successfully with Spektrum Smart 6S 30C 5000 (SPMX50006S30).
Cons:
- The screws could have been labeled better for a quicker and easier assembly.
- Horizontal stab plastic struts were not fun, but care was taken and it worked out just fine.

"The Pitts Special is a light aerobatic biplane designed by Curtis Pitts. It has accumulated many competitions wins since its first flight in 1944. The Pitts biplanes dominated world aerobatic competition in the 1960s and 1970s and, even today, remain a potent competition aircraft in the lower categories.
Built upon the successful V1 Pitts biplane, FMS is proud to announce the brand-new Pitts V2. Redesigned with a massive 1400mm wingspan, the Pitts V2 is constructed of lightweight and robust EPO foam material. Proprietary connector plugs built into the wing structure means that the wings can be attached to and detached from the fuselage using just a few screws. The slide-fit wing struts are just as simple, slide them on in just a few seconds and the wing is securely braced!
An oversized battery bay accommodates most 6S packs with ease- giving the pilot ample power to attempt all aerobatic maneuvers. Hobbywing 50A ESC provides bulletproof performance!
While ensuring that the Pitts Special is faithfully recreated, FMS has worked hard to minimize its profit margins in the hopes that pilots who love the Pitts V2 will find it affordable.

Too, the apc 16x8 prop is perfect for the big FMS pitts! 5+ minutes flights, AS extreme AS the lil pitts on 4! (Last time I flew mine 2 weeks ago! Covid)

IMO, the biggest reason for such dramatic difference in flight envelope and performance between the 850mm and the 1400mm is wing loading. I wish I had measured the wings and weighed my 850mm to compare before I sold it - I guarantee the 1400mm comes in significantly lower.
You are totally right! My E-flite just didn’t fly the same. It flies, but not the same.
For the price of an eflite F-14 UMX you can get one of these...

After 10 days now, im FINALLY back to solid foods, & been outside walking around a bit. Still tired a bit, but ive made up MY mind im going flying 1st Saturday in January! In my 'crew', 4 of us have our birthday in January! Thats how WE all met! 👍

Awesome flight. Do you think this Pitts 1400 can fly with 5s? i like to do scale flying - is 5s possible? Or is it risky?
I would not fly it on 5S. Too much risk IMO and it is such a great flying plane, using the throttle will do the same 👊🏻💥👊🏻
Stay with 6S; set up a throttle curve that limits the output to your liking - but put it on an oh sh*t switch in case you get in a pickle and need the power NOW.
