LIFE UPDATE: We moved to Darwin! - The story behind our decision

- We know this is a little late, but better late than never right?!
In January 2022, we arrived in Darwin - our new home. People always ask us why we decided to move or what was our reason? Not surprisingly, 99% of people assume it was for work reasons... well we can confirm that's a straight up NO! :)
We simply wanted to try something new. We loved our life in Far North Queensland, but we also knew that there is so much more out there to see. So we said, what the hell! Let's move interstate.
Even though the first thought that ran through our minds as we left FNQ for our road trip over to Darwin was "what in hell are we actually doing?!" - it has honestly been our best decision yet.
Our hearts are full and we are happier than ever. That's all that matters in this life right? Of course, there have been times that homesickness has crept it's way in... but it is comforting to know that we can hop on a plane and be back in FNQ in under 2.5 hours.
Anyway, enjoy us telling you the story behind moving here.

Love this, I lived there for just over 3 years and trying to move back from Sydney. Darwin is the most underrated place in Australia. I finish work here in Syd, it’s cold and dark. Darwin meanwhile is still light out, warm, and you can stroll down to the markets. So much less stress, no traffic, and you save so much time commuting etc in Darwin 😌
Thanks so much for your comment and for watching ☺️ It really is such an underrated place isn’t it. The beauty and laid back lifestyle is just epic!
I visited Darwin from NZ on March, it's the best place I've visited in Oz. So relaxed
Great little video guys

@@outnaboutadventures Look forward to more videos 👍😊
Great location is Cullen bay
Agreed! It’s a great spot
@@outnaboutadventures hope the crocodile that sits on the dock didn’t get you. 😂
is there a safe area where you can go swimming?
Litchfield National Park is great for swimming! Also Berry Springs (only in the dry season). As for close to Darwin, we’d say the safest is the local town pool 😂
It much depends on how fast you can swim generally.
Waterfront lagoon and the wave pool. Heaps of public pools, some of the most picturesque on the cliffs above the ocean at Nightcliff. Lake Alexander is easy access from town. Also lots of swimming holes that are croc free and patrolled. Some of the beaches in the Northern Suburbs are patrolled, but of late there have been big crocs around.. also box jellyfish keep you out of the water in the wet.
