How about a "Downton Abbey: A New Generation" TV show instead of a series of 2 hour movies. There are so many stories left to be told.
Yess!!!! Downton in the 1940s! Take us through WWII And finish us off in the 1950s! It would be amazing. Have an aging Lady Mary running the estate and a grown up George. With all the same servants mostly but with some new cast members. Sadly, Mrs. Hughes, Carson, Violet, Isobel, Mrs. Patmore and possibly even Lord Grantham / Cora might all be gone by then.... lol :( but I don’t care! I want six more seasons 💀😩👌🏻
sounds good but the show wouldn't be the same without Lady Grantham in it

I got my Mrs. Pattmore spoon at the Downtown exhibit in NYC while it was there.
I love this series. I’ve just finished watching it, for the second time, and I’ve literally started watching it, again, for the third time. My favourite character’s are Maggie Smith and John Bates. I’d love to meet them. Canada 🇨🇦
And I was thinking it is jsut me who watches it over and over.

My favourite Sybil, Charles Blake but mainly Ms Patmore. . the part where she asked mr carson what sex is the baby and he said i forgot and Ms Patmore says Men! Really funny 🤣🤣 coz that's when we call our dear husband when they forgot little details.

Ever notice when four or five actors from this show are interviewed, they dismiss the downstairs staff during the show? Fewer questions and less interest in these characters.

The production quality seemed less impressive than the tv series. I was mildly disappointed.
There are definitely points to be made about the story and pacing, but the production/costume design and cinematography were absolutely a step up from the show. That's pretty clear.
