How the ‘Space Force’ Cast “Broke” John Malkovich | Rotten Tomatoes TV

- ‘The Office’ creator Greg Daniels and star Steve Carell reunite this month for Netflix’s new big-budget workplace comedy, ‘Space Force.’ In the series - a parody of the newly announced fourth branch of the military that Daniels describes as a “funny Apollo 13” - Carell plays General Mark R. Naird, tasked with leading the team that will put U.S. boots on the moon by 2024. Just as in ‘The Office,’ the team he leads is a mixed - but always hilarious - bag that includes skeptical scientist Dr. Adrian Mallory (John Malkovich) and a social media expert played by Ben Schwartz. Ahead of the series premiere on Netflix, Rotten Tomatoes Correspondent Naz Perez connected with Daniels, Malkovich, Schwartz and co-stars Lisa Kudrow, Diana Silvers, Jimmy O. Yang, and Tawny Newsome to talk working with comedy “crème de la crème” Carell, the epic “chimpanzee episode,” the show’s surprisingly tender moments, and trying to make Malkovich break.

I really don't get how the critics bashed this. It was the funniest show I'd seen in years!
Because the show isn't woke enough?
If people were expecting the Office in space, they will obviously be disappointed. This is a slow burn comedy.
Or they were expecting a copy and paste of "Galaxy Quest" ROFL
The show was hilarious. Do not listen to the critics.
John Malkovich is brilliant. His performances are epic and frankly stole the show IMHO. The cast synergy is off the charts. Yes, the first episode, for me, was a tad lack luster but the remaining episodes are off the hook. Mr. Malkovich, Respect Sir. Phenomenal and compelling performance. Bravo!
John Malkovich drunk arguing with himslef against the chinese, was the greatest film you could ever get in Hollywood. So Real.
Most realatable argument I have ever felt
I rarely laugh out loud watching television. But this show did it for me. It's true that the second episode was the highlight with Marcus the Chimpstronaut. I laughed so hard, tears were running down my face. And besides the comedy and great cast, the show also manages to have a lot of heart. Great, fun show.

Here's hoping for a season 3 cause that cliffhanger was awesome, I was sad it was over immediately haha

Soo funny. Thrilled to see how the characters develop and ties in with comedic value.
You know John really enjoyed working on this, because he normally seems really bored/sad, but i can see that he can’t stop laughing when talking to the rest of the cast

I think this show is hilarious ! Love dr. Mallards (lol) lines. The nerd humor is fantastic . If you’ve ever worked from a government agency , there some truthfully hilarious realities .

(unless, of course, you think you have one that's more fine-tuned than Carell and Malkovich... in which case, i'll check out your netflix series!)
