    Only one word... Wow... Most photographers at B&H don't teach anything and just self-promote. Dotan gave a LOT of useful knowledge in such a short amount of time... Incredible photos too. Thank you so much Dotan and B&H for sharing.

    This is a quiet miracle of a piece, in my opinion. Inspirational, to say the least. We should all get so far in five years, nevermind one. Testament to the benefits of a belief in one's own abilities, respect for the Masters, practicing your craft. Aim high, stay humble. Thank you.

    Great work and advice by Dotan. Working for a weekly newspaper was a godsend for me. Sports, concerts, politics, and daily life. A press pass is a ticket to go just about anywhere and shoot anything and diffuses the few confrontations. Grab a paper and see upcoming events go out and shoot.

    Hi. For the initial few minutes I was tempted to give a thumbs down and stop the video - after all, the guy is barely a pro and "what the hell would he be able to teach?". Well, thankfully, I lingered for a bit longer and, man, what a great story! A very humble guy, yet starting in his steps toward being a professional photographer, but with a VERY INTERESTING and CAPTIVATING photographer story. I enphatically recommend that any aspiring photographer - street or not - do take the time to watch this video and learn with this VERY GOOD photographer - and, BTW, I'm not into street or social photography. Thanks to B&H for this oportunity. Thanks to Dotan for the lecture. And thanks I didn't succumb to my own prejudice beforehand! :)

    This is an absolutely wonderful presentation. The photographs are amazing and I learned so much. I would however, like to add one piece of information about National Geographic. 21st Century Fox, headed by James Murdoch, owns 73% of what is now "National Geographic Media Properties" . The National Geographic Society (of old) only owns 27%. I mention this so that you will read very carefully what you are signing when you submit photos to the site and to their competitions.

    • @DotanSaguy
      @DotanSaguy Před 7 lety +1

      Thanks for the clarification, Pat. Very important information indeed. As I mentioned in the talk, everyone should weigh their own priorities carefully to decide what, when and how much to submit to National Geographic. It ended-up being of big help for me when broadening my focus from street photography to travel photography but everyone should evaluate independently and decide what they're confortable with in their own photography journey.

    Very nice content, tho I would penalize any photographer celebrating CUBAN genozide and abusing or ridiculising those old cars that they are not able to change because of the poverty they do suffer thanks to the CASTRO REGIME, lets face it, cuba looks attractive because its iconic to any revolutionary heart that doesn't learn enough about what really happens there, and decide to take the OLD buildings, the OLD CARS.... they will change there when the REGIME GOES not when OBAMA went there to celebrate the DICTATURE.
