@Veddy1674: Their is no need to, because their is a completly diffrent glitch that allows to bypass the endless stairs, it is called the out of bounces up warp glitch, the giant staircase that lead to this door, you can slide kick throught the wall, and if done correctly you will fly up in the air really high, but you have to memorize the entry of fininal Bowser because you will not see anything, and also this is the only way to fight finial bowser as other character other then mario, however if you defeat finial Bowser but you are not Mario, you will die in the credit, because mario accidently push you.

I feel like since it was remade on the DS (AND the DS is 32 bit), they probably made the game off a whole different engine, and either the engine didn’t work with those glitches in the first place or they patched it before releasing
By doing some precise movement, you could make yourself somehow long jump backwards. I think it’s because of some leanings against walls make you move more narrow so you can face forward while doing narrow long jumps, so you could somehow make yourself do a backwards long jump. I’ve done it by accident before multiple times. You can also do it by doing long jumps, then make Mario long jump in place and hold backwards while doing good time button presses for it to work
It's doable, that's how I beat the game with luigi. There was also another glitch where you could dive into a tree and end up in the canon outside the castle much earlier than intended :D

The reason that you cant blj is because the physics engine is different and the reason why you can in original sm64 is because mario has no backwards speed cap
