Join me as I take you on a tour of my very favourite shop - the wonderful Curious Goods in my hometown of Chesterfield, Derbyshire. It has been serving the local Witchy and Pagan community for over 20 years and is very much loved by us all!
We are so lucky to have such a special independent shop right on your doorstep and I was privileged to be allowed to film it for you.

I live in Oregon USA and our town just lost our shop that sold all these kinds of curiosities. It is so important to keep these little shops alive. This video brought me joy! If I do visit Chesterfield I will definitely visit this shop!

I wish we had a store like that where I live. I'm in the southern midwest U.S. and people are extremely narrow-minded when it comes to anything non-traditional. For a country based on freedom, we still have many of us practicing in secret.

I am a 72 year old witch and can remember when shops like this were very far and wide., The owners deserve all their success such wonderful knowledgable people. Alison 🐝💛🌻 Thank you so much for taking us along to your favorite shop. I love the color of it Royal purple & the little side streets. I can truly understand why this is the Nexus for your community It has such a lovely vibe & energy. I could tell that they were open to any religious Pantheon. The variety & prices were very amazing. I have always felt that Britain/UK are so much friendlier to those in the Pagan /Wiccan community. We had about five metaphysical type shops in the Tampa Bay area over the last 20 years. Now we're down to just one. But all five didn't have the variety that yours does. I agree with you completely that I hate the emptiness that comes with buying something from Amazon. Things to do jump out at you in these types of stores which is so magical. Thank you again for sharing this Gem of a shop 🙏🐝💛🌻

What a fantastic place!!!! I can see a trip to Chesterfield in the not-too-distant :) As well as asking yes/no questions of your pendulum, you can use them to choose your tarot card; either by spreading your cards out in an arc and move the pendulum over them; or cut your deck into three or four piles and use the pendulum to select the pile; then spread that pile out to determine the exact card. Thanks for the video, it's a feast for the eyes! BB xxx

I used my amethyst pendulum today to do exactly that! I did a card draw from 2 different oracle card decks & both cards were of the same message/ invocation.
I did this intuitively as I have absolutely no experience with pendulums at all, not even read about them.
I did have my intent strongly voiced in my head , & had used clear quartz to strengthen the decks & my pendulum prior to doing the draws.
Lovely to read of your experience with your pendulum & good to know that my intuition was absolutely correct in my use of my pendulum today. Xx 😊
@@KarenWard-xq1li Yay! I also have an amethyst pendulum, it's carved into quite a lovely spiral. Friend of mine has a raw amethyst point for a pendulum and it has the weirdest energy, it's so strong it's quite spooky! Great to hear about your experience with yours, and your intuition - by far the best way for divination, I think. I should clear my deck more often - have done it with incense previously but I'll try using my crystals next time and note the results.

Oh my goodness Alison 😳 I would be in paradise in this shop!! WOW! the Dragons, incense and card decks WOW! I also saw the Knights Templar I work with these in healing sessions. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the wide range of things in here. My friend in Sheffield has told me about this shop. Sadly I'm over 300 miles away 😞 my favourite Satya Incense is Reiki Power, Spiritual Awakening and Oodh they are amazing. Everyone always comments on these when I burn them.

I enjoyed this video so much I watched it again before I went to bed! You asked about pendulums. I have a pendulum made if lapis lazuli that I've had for nearly 15 years, I believe it chose me. I don't even have to try with it, it just answers me without effort on my part. Other pendulums work well for me too, but not as good as the lapis lazuli one. The advice I can give is that the yes/no directions are not always the same for all pendulums. You have to ask it questions you already know the answer to and see which way it swings, or sometimes it might go in a circle for yes/no. Ask it some questions you already know the yes and no answers to, see if that helps.❤ Of course you may have already tried that, so in that case I would advise trying different pendulums, using the same process. Please let us know how it goes!😊

This was wonderful and really a highlight to my day! My father was named Chester so he really loved it when he was in England! Wish he could of made that his home before he passed. But this shop looks so lovely and inviting! Yes you are right the prices are really good! And I am like you I LOVE incense also! I just brought that exact same Sacred Ritual one, it is a good smell if you have not burnt it yet. I used it before I do my prayers to speak to my father who passed at the altar I have for him.
I live in Sweden and it is hard to find these type of shops. I am from USA originally and they were many of such shops in various states, but the issue was always in the USA paganism, witchcraft etc is not inclusive. So me as a black woman was always made to feel unwelcome.

Oh my word!! I know of Anwen of course, but our paths have never crossed! I know of her through Rachel Rodham who worked at the University (where I also work) and she’s a member of Pagan Pathways who meet at Airy Fairy. What a small world 🥰
@fifty-somethingwitch2406 she used to be a housemate of a friend., a long time ago now. I was always round at their's partying lol! I can remember when she started the shop with a Prince's trust Grant. I used to work in her dad's pub. It is a small world indeed 😁

When using a pendulum always repeat the words "not for my ego" before you ask a question. To make sure it is working ask a random question like " Is my name Fred". Good Luck, Love and light.

It is seriously impressive!! There are hundreds and hundreds of decks and every time I go, I spot another one I’ve never seen before! ♥️
This is lovely and I can imagine how much fun you have coming in and browsing/shopping on a regular basis! This reminds me of some of the shops in Salem, MA, which is not far from me. Some stores are specialty stores, but others are a conglomerate of all kinds of things and it is so much fun to pick things out instead of, like you said, cooly ordering online. Thanks for sharing!!

I would go *berserk* in this shop!! What a stunning job they have done in putting this shop together - spectacular! I cannot get over the prices! Now, I am in the states and of course everything is just *STUPID* expensive here. I saw in this video, one of the amethyst geodes - a large one for 195 (about $250 dollars) -- seriously that piece would be impossible to find anywhere in the States for less than $600. If I were to visit at any point - even at a bit of a distance, I would absolutely visit this wonderful shop. Thanks for sharing it!

After watching your video, I decided to visit the crystal shop near me! I bought a strawberry and a rose quartz chip bracelets, a picture jasper bracelet a a box of white save incense sticks. I haven't seen this particular variety before, they are much thicker than the usual ones and burn for two hours. They are Namaste India natural white sage and smell absolutely gorgeous! I'm definitely going to try the other fragrances too.

I grew up in New England and there was a witch shop also called Curious Goods.
I bet there were quite a few Witchy shops in that area! ♥️

I loved Curious Goods when I lived in Chesterfield and they were really nice when I was looking for items to remember our dog after he passed away in 2018. (It was this video popping up on my timeline that grabbed my attention to give your channel a follow.)

I travel to Chesterfield from Sheffield at least twice a month and have never heard of this shop. Next time I’m there I’ll definitely try and find it.
It’s in The Shambles - kind of opposite where M&S used to be and bang opposite The Body Shop xx
