    Biggest feature hands-down is the addition of an audio in Jack. That is simply huge because it means you can use your iPad as an unlimited sound source for any kind of piano or organ you want or backing instrument or even a full daw!

I'll be using it as a MIDI controller, so the assignable knobs and pitch wheel are of benefit. I'm confused between this and the CDP-S100. I heard the sound of the S100 is a bit weak in comparison with the S1000. I fear I may notice that, through I am a beginner and I'd like to start learning. Here in the UK, I can get the S100 with a stand for £400, the S1000 costs £450 just by itself. Perhaps the S100 could do the job? I could always connect it to my PC to get higher quality sounds of it through DAW software or even get all other voices that neither of those piano have (and honestly I doubt I'd need those voices). I think I'm answering my question here, the S1000 is what I should go for. Do you think it's a good idea or should I save and get the cheaper S100.

    Hi Jeremy,
    Thank you for your reviews - they were among those that have had convinced me to buy this piano.
    Unfortunately I had to send it back as I found that on all of the acoustic piano sounds, the sound isn't getting damped when played short (staccato) on keys from the F#6 and up the Bb7 (or maybe till the end of the keyboard). The person from the music store is telling me, that it is usual for pianos to act like this (he also said, that he compared it to a hybrid piano they have in store), but I'm not convinced it can sound such dramatically/obviously different, as you can really hear the difference between the damped sound of the F6 key (and all other keys from from F6 down the keyboard) and the audibly sustaining sound of all the keys from the F#6 and up. All the other sounds are fine.
    Have you experienced such an issue with this piano?
    I'm waiting for the music store to compare it to the sound of Casio PX-S3000, as I've heard it has the same piano sounds...

    • @JeremySee
      @JeremySee  Před 5 lety +1

      The PX-S3000 has the same default piano. The higher registers of an acoustic piano is indeed not dampened. Do try it out on an acoustic.
      Steinway stops dampening after E6. Yamaha after F6.

      @@JeremySee Thanks for your reply. Does it mean it requires a damper pedal to have this issue solved?

    • @JeremySee
      @JeremySee  Před 5 lety +2

      No. A damper pedal is essential a sustain pedal. A damper pedal opens the strings. F6 onwards will be ringing naturally regardless of any pedalling. Do Google the mechanics of an acoustic piano. This topic is well discussed in many classical piano forums.

    If I don’t need so many fancy function of digital piano but wish it could feel as much as possible as the classic piano(grand piano). Is Roland FP10 or Casio px-s1000 better?
    I’m really hesitated now cuz seeing you didn’t put this one in the top 5 for piano beginners.
    Would be appreciated if you could help me. I’ve been playing piano for 21 years and is now really want to find one:)

    I don't like the idea of putting more and more of the user interface into a phone app. Let's face it, phones are a huge distraction while playing requires attention. Can you imagine screwing up in front of a large audience just because you did not turn off notifications? If the piano is connected as a bluetooth speaker you might even hear the ring tone through the PA ;) My other concern is: How long will those apps be available and will we be able to get them up and running on a 2025 phone? A friend still has a Roland home piano from 1992 and she plays it allmost every day. Even after all these years it is a fine instrument while all pnones from that aera have become redicilous.
    As far as I know all features on current models can still be used without a phone. I hope they don't change that in the future.

    Can the Bluetooth input be going the same time as the aux input? then you could have the sound of the piano itself, and iPad going into the auxiliary input, backing from track from your phone all going at the same time? Then you could adjust all the volume levels individually.Plus you could have amazing essentially unlimited layering opportunities!
