Well it's time for the BRICS- New World Order to come up with a default reserve currency or simply go back to gold as the reserve. It will be too chaotic for each country to trade in their respective currencies with the daily change in exchange rates.

No new currency. It will hamper local currencies because most of the trade in global world. It will be a weak new currency because of lack of trade as compared to other Groups.
UPI implementation suggestion is a good move across BRICS.
UPI is an India solution and is not 'used' in any country. Countries like Singapore merely interface their own system to UPI so Indian workers can send money home

They have different banks and payments systems! Sure you can have their systems interface to UPI to send and receive money with India just like India and Singapore have. But that's is not 'using UPI'

If you really look at it, this is the reason why the BRICS was formed in the first place. The US has had a history of forcing countries to bend at their will since they broke the Bretton-Woods Agreement in 1971 when the President Nixon took the US completely off gold and silver making way for the Fiat dollar, after the US made a deal with e Saudis to accept Dollars for oil hence the Petro-Dollar....

The developing countries should have a much stronger voice, more say in the global economy. No longer should institutions like the IMF and the World Bank implement policies that western nations at a great advantage keep developing countries. The changes are needed now and must come soon.

There is no such thing as a free lunch. Base currency values have to be linked by necessity to allow for global trade. A Brics alternative currency isn't some magic wand that will take away your country's debt or hyper inflation.
This is going to make way for some entertaining Geo-political theater in years to come!

Decapitating the dollar is fine if you just remember why you hated it so much and don´t let your leader implement a similar system just with them as the fat cats benefitting. Its time the economic system is made to serve the people, not the financial elite.
BRICS needs to tie a given amount of Gold to 1kg of Hydrogen. Then create a base-unit currency which reflects this value. Only then, can a stable currency based upon rare metals and energy will survive in the future
Gold is not feasible, I suggest tie it to commodities, gold standard works at the beginning but it becomes a major problem afterwards. This is why USA 🇺🇸 abandoned gold standard.

They are trading in local currencies for now and maybe a common currency later on.
Also captial control has nothing to do with trade. Captial market is like you put 500 dollars into an investment in bonds, stocks, or in a company. China has captial control on a lrage scale-China only allows Chinese citizens to invest in Chinese companies in China and only allows Chinese households to invest a max of 50 thousand outside of China. In this way China keeps her people's money in house and this is why China has grown so fast. Its like your mom has a grocery store and all your bothers and sisters put money back in your mom's store to keep the money in-house so you don't have to worry about paying dividends to oustsider and at the same time keep your mom's store strong with continuing investment from your own family. Later on when your mom's store is very wealthy then you open up for investment flows
China will open her capital markets later in the future. The west has been begging China to oen her 45 trillion dollar financial.
