I got a laugh that you saw Suga's smile but missed his middle finger during that smile. Strong reaction. You bridged the STD thing way better than most reactors.
I doubt he missed that. Maybe he did. But remember that for most people who likes harder music the middle finger isn’t a big deal.
Suga is a realist and through his struggles in his earlier days, spits only the truth and his experiences... through all his pain, struggles and hardships... he's always been honest and has opened not only himself, but his artistry to everyone. Showing that he can be vulnerable yet give some of his words of comfort to his audience. His talent is undeniably on another level... we 💜 you Suga!!
When Suga is angry about something he just goes to his studio and blow up his lyrics, then in the interview he's like wow was I really this upset, lol... he really has no filter but he can do more, please react to his song "First Love", totally different gear but it's my favorite.

Never felt drawn to rap until I "met" BTS and started listening to Suga and RM doing their solo stuff. I find their rap songs incredibly exciting. Such powerful writers, both of them. Outro: Tear is one of my favorite BTS songs.

I started getting interested to BTS in 2020 when I watched Dynamite. I found this song when I'm trying to learn their names. The thing is I only know their pop songs so imagine how SHOCKED I am to the core when I saw this lol. Can't believe all of them are in the same group.

When this song first came out, I remember feeling worried because of how bold and cocky it was. They had not been around for long so all Suga had to back up his flex was his fanbase (we didn't have a good rep either lol) and his music... (Album sale numbers were always being questioned) I thought for sure people will think of it as baseless/delusional confidence, but so far he's always manifested everything he said. Everyone has their own taste and so their music won't appeal to everyone, but as artists, Yoongi and BTS are undeniably amazing, and it's come to a point where people would have to go out of their way to not see it. As a fan, I feel very proud of them and very spoiled for how much I receive from them 💜

I am glad that you are on to this one now. This is one of my favourite. SUGA is more mellow these days. BTS isn’t as angry these days at least not this way, and part of me am glad for their sakes.
The best I found is to look at the lyrics translations separately as the good ones often give us some cultural contexts for their English translations to understand and appreciate the choices of words better.
Sometimes I think he let STD be spelled like that on purpose. Although we naturally need to note that he is primarily rapping in Korean and not English.

My interpretation of the MV is pretty straightforward imho: the truck is the industry that continues forward but wants to tie him as "idol" (this or that, you can see more of these early struggles to define themselves in RM Awakening and Do You), he breaks free and everything is shaking (as it should!), once he finds an outlet, he escapes the square dimensions and set himself free from any definition, sitting on top of the truck/industry while it's driving forward ^^ Genius.
