This is just my own personal theory, but I think why the two mediums give two different MVs is to represent two perspectives. With the top being about the awakening of the entity and bottom being about the manifestation. Lets start with the top. I noticed that it uses alot of news coverage and historical symbols (0:15, 1:30, 2:50 to point out a few). And the imagery of the girl is used whenever shes being used, and not when she's at her own wits. Its also important to note that when the hands grabbing her, she has bandages on her eyes compared to the maimai MV. Another thing to point out is that her outline is darker, and the scenery (aka video components) used in some of the parts are more complex than the maimai MV. Now move on to the bottom. Its obvious that its different, starting with historical symbols and imagery instead of news coverage. Using the observations from above, since the clouds are more pronounced and her eye was not present but also not bandaged, it could be seen that this version of the MV is to signify her soul and her suffering during the assimilation. An example would be when the image of the "entity" was clearer than the top MV as you could see horns in this version and also see the finger more clearly. And when the new planet was discovered, it only got a vague glimpse of it instead of it being observed, more like a body trying to find a host(planet). Its also important to point out that her hand in 2:48 is darker instead of being highlighted, most likely symbolizing her full assimilation and looking from the perspective of the entity. Also in the ending of the maimai MV, we get to see the panic of civilization up until they discovered the UFO, and it ultimately destroying the planet with the light at the end, most likely signaling that the "entity" wants to wipe out those who knows too much. Final words, I know that both MVs have newspaper clippings, but knowing the context, it probably is trying to explain the "outsider perspective" and the "insider perspective", both being the awakening of the entity and the manifestation of the entity respectively. And to add to the mystery, just like how mobius was Wacca's way of telling the players that the entity in wacca is strong enough but realize that its growing ever so weak so it destroys everything while it can including itself, the MV in youtube is to signal the outsider view of the whole situation while witnessing the madness of the story while the MV in maimai is to us, the players, a way to experience the madness ongoing for the story and we are the ones pushing the narrative and will bear responsibility. But hey thats just a theory, a Noni theory!
Thank you for comparasion, tbh idk why the maimai pv ones different from full Pv, it is either for player's eyes not getting too much distraction from flashing or it is because differ way to adapt the pv story i think so?...
maimai version uses more stock footage from what I've noticed, too. Some scenes are rough as well - perhaps the youtube version is more of a polish than a variant? 2:57 was recently-declassified UFO footage iirc
