Hi Nadine, physicist here 👩🏻‍🔬😀The metal tip always feels cold because metal is an excellent conductor and conducts the heat away from your skin. Happy belated birthday! Hope you had a wonderful day and either got spoiled or spoiled yourself. Lots of love from Munich xx 💋

Physicist :-) Nadine I don't think you need a blepharoplasty. However, I used to work as a pre- and post-op nurse in an outpatient surgery center and will share that blephs were uniformly very satisfying for patients. They are quick surgeries, only require twilight anesthesia, and are relatively fast to recover from. So many of my patients teared up with happiness after a bleph because their field of vision was immediately improved and they looked younger instantly. If you're going to have a surgery, that's the one to have :-)

I was one of the folks who complained about Avon being an MLM (hopefully not unkindly), but credit where credit is due in terms of the products themselves here. And one could just go online and purchase directly, as you mentioned, opting out of the MLM side of things that is such a spiral. Sometimes I like to see these sort of mass-market heritage brands featured, because they're the kind of thing I can convince my mother to go and buy, and I'm always struggling to find decent options that won't be a waste of her money (although brands like Loreal and Olay have improved remarkably in terms of what's trickled down). I know she'd love that Avon product, because she loves an instant, temporary fix (was addicted to "snake venom" years back).
Such a good selection that you shared today. Thank you again, Nadine. Xx

I also get milia right under my eyes, and the only thing that works on them is my Paula's 1% retinol.
My skin is **not** at all sensitive ... I had no more problems starting the retinol than I did elsewhere on my face. And my milia are even tougher ... they laughed at 10% glycolic, 2% BHA, lactic acid, and weaker retinols.
I would not recommend 1% retinol in the eye area unless you know you have tough, resistant skin.

    • @Nubianette

I can get that as well. It happened because I didn’t need an eye cream at 1st. I have oily skin, and most eye creams are too rich for me. The Inkey List Caffeine cream is good. I might used 1/2 of what most people use. I’ve also used the NIOD serum without problems, but the Inkey price is much better, and it helped the occasional appearance of my hollow eyes.

Hi Nadine as someone with both rosacea and eczema my face moisturisers are often heavier creams as I'm so so dry, which doesn't suit the skin under my eyes. I buy an eyecream for both texture and ingredients, but never spend a fortune on them. Where possible I do take my serum around my eye area, but still need an eye cream. My current choice is the Benton fermentation eye cream @ 30g for approx £25. It is loaded with peptides and other good ingredients, lasts ages, great texture for my admittedly dry undereye and isn't phenomenally expensive. I also use a mild retinol serum around my eyes a few nights a week, rather than the tretinoin I use on my face. I have hayfever and need a bit of comfort in an eyecream for what is often irritated skin. I don't get milia, but too heavy a cream will make them puffy. I think it's about what each person actually needs for their eye area, rather than just blindly applying something. Best wishes.

Nadine this is so true. Since I have been following you I have started using my face cream/serum up and around my eyes. I had been suffering for years with blepharitis and eczema, and was using steroid creams around my eyes for years. Since lockdown I have started to put into practice some of the information about eye care that you have shared. The results have been amazing....no creepy eyes, no blepharitis, no steroid creams ... just hydrated eyes...lids and brow area. I have been using the Curel moisturiser and just taking it up and around my eyes. Before I had been placing eye cream virtually
on my cheek bones had had hardly used any product. Now I am investing in fabulous mascaras and eye make up. So thank you for your information, honesty and advice.

Hi Nadine. I really struggle with concealer around my eyes. I need it, but it makes my eyes look worse most of the time, so I would be in the market for an eye job if it meant I no longer needed concealer. I have found that sleeping on my back and giving up salt has made as much difference as any eye cream, but I do use the CeraVe on occasion because I love all their other stuff.

    2 things really annoy me:
when dermatologists and beauty experts come and say that you don't need an eye serum/eye cream as you are only paying for a diluted version of your face serum/cream and most of the time, they cost more since eye products come in 15ml. 4 years ago, i jumped on the bandwagon and decided to save money and listened to the professionals, after all they are the experts, right? I don't have eyebags and I'm very lucky that my dark circles is rather minimal. Within a couple of weeks, my under eye was irritated and I started getting milia - which I never got in my then 31 years btw. At the beginning, I thought that it was just my under eye adjusting to the heavier products. I persisted and this went on for over 7 months. I switched face products a few times to see if I could find an all rounder. Some products made my under eyes less irritated while some, more. But the milia was always there. In the end, I had to get the milia professionally extracted. After this, I decided to get back to my eye products again. ( I use both a serum and a cream in the same skincare routine!) Within days, all irritation gone and I haven't had a milia since!! So although it might be true that maybe most people don't need a different eye product, this should not be used as a general statement by the professionals.
the second thing that bothers me is when the experts say that you don't need a toner for your face since toners have no purpose of removing excess makeup anymore. May be true for astringents, but toners are in a league of their own now! but that's another rant! 😂😂

Avon and Mary Kay must be considered MLMs in the UK. In the US they're staples. It was a legit way for women to earn a living with good products. I noticed the eye creams mentioned are half the price between the US and UK websites and the UK is dirt cheap. Here, you have to pay a much higher price to order direct, so using a representative is still less expensive. And even then, the prices are much higher. Eye creams are a necessity. Face products sting and get in my contacts.

Every time I've used an eye specific cream I've gotten milia around the eye area. It didn't matter how 'light' the formula was either. So I've stopped. No more milia.

Nadine. What about eye products with benefits but that do not make the eyes water? I know that with some products that migrate to the lower and upper lashes cause the eyes to water much like hayfever? I am looking for an eye product that hydrates the skin around my eyes that also do not cause my eyes to water?

The only eye product I use is spf for the eye area, as my normal spf ( I’ve tried loads) make my eyes literally stream.

Can I ask about eye fat bags. I absolutely hate the fact I have them but unless I have surgery absolutely nothing will change them. Make up makes them looks 100 times worse.

I have dark circles which I think are a mixture of genetics and also not drinking enough water (I'm trying to drink more!) I have fallen victim to the high street eye creams and beyond of false promises of reducing dark circles. I am using clinique and also ole henriksen but I dont really notice a difference. I use a vitamin c booster from clinique in my moisturiser and use around my eyes so would this be enough?
I am slowly introducing retinol from no 7 into my regime as I find it dries my nose out, but shall I use the vitamin c /retinol in my moisturiser instead?
