    That's awesome!!!!! Our old dog had a manual awning, I kept it tied down. I've been looking for something for power awnings. Gonna go order this. Thanks. Love the flags btw, we're big on flags at camp. Recently purchased a couple new flag set ups, I'll be posting a video on them soon.

    You can take a tent stake to stick into the handle of the corkscrew steak to screw it down into the dirt farther eliminating a trip hazzard.
    Also when on concrete you can still do it but reverse the poles so the strap hook is on the outside then tie the strap down to the base of the RV using eye hooks on the frame.

  • @cruznoutdoors
    @cruznoutdoors Před 3 lety +2

    You could use the water bottle method instead of stakes. I've seen some campers using that when they are on concrete. :-)

    I know this is an older video but new to the electric awning game. I had a manual but upgrading to electric and love the idea of this. My question is, how does this work with rain? Do you tilt your awning any?

    • @TheCampoholics
      @TheCampoholics  Před rokem

      Hello Luke, the older awning was the better built one I would guess. I still use this exact setup and it's one of the first things I do after parking is set this up. My awnings are tilted down to max tilt and they stay there. The poles keep the awning from collapsing during a down pour and the straps keep the awning from blowing away. I feel good with just the pole kit and good anchors, 20mph winds. When I combo it with the EZ Zip Blocker shade, 28-30 mph. That's how we roll. It's all about your comfort level. Of course never leave your awning unattended.

    Thanks for the video, we were wondering the best way to secure our awnings on our 315 RLTS TT. Are you able to leave them out all he time with this? (with the exception of a storm I’m assuming)

    • @TheCampoholics
      @TheCampoholics  Před 5 lety +1

      That's correct, we do leave them out all the time but continue to monitor the weather. Our last trip we had the awning our for the entire duration of our 7 day trip. But as stated monitor the weather for any high winds.

      Actually we recently traded the Reflection for our Momentum 395M and have them on our patio awning right now! We adjusted the pitch and they work beautifully! Check out our IG account we have some pictures posted!

    Sorry to be a skeptic, but, throughout your video, the other awning on your unit wasn't moving at all. So it's hard to tell the efficacy of this system when the awnings weren't moving to begin with.
    Any chance this was a paid promotion?

    • @TheCampoholics
      @TheCampoholics  Před 2 lety

      Nope, not a paid promotion. We still have the same set up and love it. It will save you headache and damage in the long run. We leave our awning out each and every stop. I do take the awning in when winds are projected over 40. Thanks for asking!
