So interesting, I'm thinking of doing the same thing I am older than you , I've been wanting to do this for the last 20 years and I'm still sitting here watching CZcams videos, I can't seem to make up my mind.
I just purchased a 2014 Transit connect wagon, all six seats fold into the floor.
I have been purchasing a lot of things for the van on Amazon.
The bed frame should be here in a couple of days and I've already got the Millard single size mattress amongst other things.
I would love to find someones that could help me finish this with storage and pull out drawers in the back.
I have the small sink and the gas one single burner.
Also have a jackery 240 and the solar 100.
Also window screens and blackout curtains,
I did buy a tent to attach to the back,
Sorry to be so long-winded ,
is there anyone that could give me some advice in how to get started?

Quite amazing build!
I bought a rechargeable waterpump that simply has a hose that drops in a 💦 water container and put a canning funnel in a corner of the counter....great place to spit in when you brush your teeth, and empty your coffee ☕ mug when you rinse it out. A collapsible washbasin for quick sponge baths, etc and a collapsible colander 4 washing fruits or dishes to set in the basin takes care of my sink neads without taking up too much counter space. A small 12V fridge between the front seats is handy while driving. I like your floorplan . It I corporates alot of clever storage....my collapsible toilet is something I couldn't do without. Happy Travels.

lovely set up, thanks v much for sharing your build, I wish the transit connect not out of production, they salt the roads here an it takes a terrible toll of these older vans, the headroom in those versions is unparalleled

This was one year ago, and i've only just found you...! Been watching this sort of video since Covid, and have now commenced on doing a van of my own and have a Transit Connect on the horizon. This is by far the best Connect build, from the many i've seen so far, and i'll be stealing a few ideas..., if I may?
Could you tell me the size of that bed when fully laid out please? That is an abolutely genius idea, to use the backrests in such a way.

Very good design. Personally, I would modify slightly to have a frig and sink but it would be easy to modify design slightly for that.

Nice. However, how often have you actually used it? I only ask because you seem to have a few things missing that most would have. Like no rain guards for the front windows so you can keep windows cracked at night. Or some kind of curtain or something behind the seats for privacy. Or coverings for any of the back windows. Stuff like that.
I’ve lived in it for two years. I’ll do an updated tour soon with how I have it set up for living

I am 6’3” if I remember correctly my bench is 12” high not including the 4” mattress

how is that 2010 doing? I'm looking to buy a 2017 in Feb. 2023.
I love the 2010 I have it’s been pretty reliable and has out lived it’s expected lifespan. I don’t know a lot about the newer models but I know they have fixed the big issues gen2 had so they must be good vans
Great layout
BUT
If you take a slatted frame that slides into each other instead of a board that you have to lift completely back and forth, the bed assembly works much easier. And don't forget the handling of the mattress.
