All of Gary Lineker's Tottenham goals from 1989 - 1992 All the goals are in date order as and when he scored them in all competitions #Tottenham #Spurs #Lineker
He had a 6th sense for knowing where and when to get onto a rebound better than any other striker I think I've ever seen, certainly British born, arguably anywhere. That wasn't all he did though. His pace was truly electrifying, that was the thing the defenses really concerned themselves with when facing him, but he was a finishing machine; Just watch how he instantly knows exactly what to do, when to do it, whether it requires power or placement (or both). He even scored so many goals that went in off the keeper, as if it was always part of the plan to use the keeper to get the ball travelling at exactly the right angle to go in.
He said he’d developed a theory at Barca that he wasn’t stronger or necessarily faster than the defender so he would attack the space where the defender wasn’t. If the ball goes to the defender then so be it. If it ends up in the space he attacked he scores and it looks supernatural.
Was at the majority of those games, personal favourites the winner at Old Trafford from 20 yards in front of us on that terrace, and also the winning header in the last minute at Chelsea, great away days those
So consistent at every club he played for , top scorer at Barca each season till Cruyff stuck him on the wing cuz he didn’t want him, his best days were definitely at Spurs though , a great variety of goals not just a poacher, very brave aswell he’d dive in where it hurt to put it in the net , world class in the days of Van Basten, Papin, Rush, Careca, Butragueno, Sanchez, Voller, Klinsmann, Elkjaaer , super striker….
I was at Old Trafford when he scored the last goal in this video and all us United fans stood up and gave him a round of applause when he scored at 14:33 as we all knew this was his last professional game and we understood we were witnessing a great player score his last ever goal!
Tell the truth you were happy for the goals he scored for England hey ever hear of the hand of God goal and how the English won't shut up about it and won't talk about 66 when the ball never crossed the line all the German lads knew it never crossed and so did the English but they jumped with joy when the linesman gave it.
@@dr.feelgood.1330 First of all I am from Republica of Mancunia so not interested in England! Secondly why post such a shitty post, is your you life really that miserable mate?

If England had just played Barnes in the 86 WC earlier I think they would have won it Diego was out of breath and barnes's second cross was going in until an argie just threw himself in front of Lineker got there late to stop Lineker hitting it but the ball hit the argies back and never crossed the line I don't know why Barnes wasn't playing earlier.
A very good player. Has he ever been back to Spurs and done ht interview etc? Was he at the final game at WHL? Does he ever speak fondly of his time at Spurs? Do any of his former team mates speak warmly of him? If Lineker was made of chocolate he’d eat himself.
Such a great underrated player. Probably cleverest striker England have had. Was to young to watch him at the time properly but i remember everyone wanted to be lineker when playing football at school. God knows what he would be worth today and how much he would score but when you see a technically bad player like haaland score so much for man city I guess he'd score two a game?!
As a young footballer he was the man I studied on how play up front.. a brilliant goal scorer.. sadly for me I really don’t like the politics he preaches now.. sorry
Shame Gary Lineker is such a knob nowadays, he was one of my favourite players for Tottenham. Always good to look back on the great, uncorrupted Gary of those days.
His playing days at Spurs he was loyal to the club at the time and a good player too. People can change as they get older and I don’t know why is this but it’s a real shame as you mentioned. One of my favourite players too
@@supertottenhamtv Well, I think its because he's now become part of the 'Political Establishment' - so snobby attitude comes with it. I really like Lineker back then though.
Agree. A great goal scoring record for us and at all the clubs he played for as well as for England, but even back then I found him a difficult character to warm to. These days I just find him plain irritating with his non stop political commentary.
@@geoffclarke3796 Yeah, me too,. with everything you say. I used to idolise him, yet not been as fond of him as I ever was Gazza and Waddle. Because I watch old footage of Lineker for Tottenham and England and I'm now torn down the middle.
I agree 2 great players but unfortunately Spurs didn't have a great team around them. Should of never of sold Waddle just before Lineker joined the club. Imagine the team with the likes of Gascoigne, Lineker and Waddle, could of been the best front 3

"His pace was truly electrifying"
Not really. But he was a truly great striker.
Great to see Gazza doin his thing and the finishing from Gary just top class!
I ended up supporting Liverpool but my mum was fond of Lineker and Maradona which got me into football.
Harry Kane's prolific scoring record reminds me of this legend...
Most Spurs fans, me included, don't consider him a Spurs legend, which is strange because I loved him when he played for Spurs.
@@MrElsey123That is true. I think it’s because he’s never displayed any warmth or affection for the club to my knowledge.
@@61sven Yes, he's always been oddly ambivalent towards Spurs for some reason

Forgotten how good a finisher he was, however Gazza's sublime skills helped his tally😊

Gascoigne and Lineker, how did we not win 5 world cups????
One of England's best ever strikers, shame he never won a league title.

The greatest ever english goalscorer ... facts
after Jimmy Greaves!
Everton 78 I agree 👍
