this was a good debate for me bc i personally have 3 etsy shops - 1 POD general, 1 mixed POD /handmade niche shop, and 1 purely handmade. i had my niche shop for 10 plus years and really understand it, so i find in many ways its much easier to design for, and i dont overthink it as much as the general store. plus i dont have to do that much research as i am following the niche and living in it so i can just make stuff that i think would appeal, rather than doing so much research on all the misc niches for a general store. i agree with basically everything everyone said. but on the flip side i do sometimes want to make something that doesnt fit in my niche store, so i put it in the general store. the general store is better for testing products IMHO. Id also agree that i get more customers in my niche store buying 3-4 misc items across product categories bc they know "oh great, this store gets me!".
Do you use an app to manage your three stores? Or are you logging into Etsy with three different logins each time? That’s my biggest hesitation, understanding how to manage more than one store effectively.
you can use general products but still focus on a specific target market or vice versa…you dont sell a product but emotions :)

When I think of a general store I think of stores that sell clothes, art, mugs, etc. Not stores that carry one specific type of t shirt. I would really like to know how a general store like that does. Good idea generating video.
A general store is typically a store that sells in different categories/genres/industries, etc. Not different items, because you can have a niche store that is focused on one specific industry/topic, but sells numerous types of items targeting that one topic. The term 'misc' in a general store means items in multiple markets/topics, NOT 'only' items.
Some Printify products I was thinking of using for a niche store are so high priced especially with shipping even with the premium plan there’s little to no room for margin. People can buy really cute items off the shelf for a fraction of the price so this limits some niche store ideas.

Despite having some of the lowest prices among all other print-on-demand platforms, it’s important to remember that customers are ultimately paying for your design, along with your product. It has to be something they can’t get off a shelf, that way the cost to them is worth it. There’s definitely something to be said about pricing your products properly, for sure, but lead with your design and with luck the sales will follow.
Great video 👍 I have a shop that sells a couple of products but in a variety of niches - so a niche shop (the products are the niche) but they're general in scope - or sub-niched, i guess.
Thoughts on that approach, anyone?

I'm just at the beginning... I like niche stores. I'm connecting with ebay because etsy doesn't work in my country. Can we have some 3-4 or more printify-ebay niche stores or just one?
Hi there! You can connect multiple stores to your Printify account, but to create multiple stores on the same marketplace you'll need different email addresses.
She just talks about Etsy wich makes sense but, she forgets that you can make categories in general sites that people can scroll through and find more products of their liking.
Love your videos!! I see most t-shirt shops on Etsy price their t-shirts at $21 including shipping… Now at a $21 price point including shipping, May I know how much profit per t-shirt this seller would be making approximately? If I use a POD partner like printify, May I know how should I price my t-shirt so that I get a $5 net profit per t-shirt sold?
Hi there! Glad to hear you love the videos and that you've asked a very good question! There's a lot of nuances to pricing products as merchants will choose different profit margins that are acceptable for them to operate their business. Printify even makes it easy to apply a profit percentages to your products which will update the price automatically. @@Printify thanks!One last question-- What are your thoughts on offering free shipping rather adding extra shipping costs to the purchase? Since most customers want free shipping, I am not sure if I should factor in shipping in my price of t-shirt as it will definitely make my t-shirt look expensive compared to my competitors.
