I just played three houses for the first time and I got hooked just like you! Just bought engage to play and started looking on eBay to see deals on the 3ds games! Never thought I'd like a strategy RPG so I stayed away but I had a BLAST
That's awesome! Luckily, I got most of the 3ds games cheap on Gamestop a couple of years ago so I hope you can find some solid deals on them. Good Luck!
Great list, I have 5/10 games on your list.
I saw a thumbnail that featured all of my top 3 games, so i had to check it out. I'm glad I did. It's a good video.
FE3H was the next step from Final Fantasy Tactics. They need to rev their game up to BG3 level in the next entry because the fans need it and I love the world of Fodlan.
Great list!
FYI, Larian studios only did baldurs gate 3, BioWare made baldurs gate 1 & 2
Oh, I actually didn't know that lol. Thanks for letting me know.
@@OrangeLoot sure!
A focus on single player RPG’s? Subbed.
Incredible video man I really respect putting three houses on the 1st position. It is my favourite jrpg of all time
Yeah, Three Houses is probably only second to Persona 5 for me when it comes to favorite Jrpgs.
Thanks for watching!
@@OrangeLoot Persona 5 is awesome too😎👍👍
I'd love to see a video like this that's nothing but indie titles no big name devs and publishers :D
I do have a Nintendo Switch hidden gem series that mostly covers indies and lesser known games.

I recommend triangle strategy and Ni No Kuni.
I got triangle strategy and also ni no kuni 2. Triangle Strategy will probably be in my part 2 video. Thanks for watching!
no chained echoes no sea of stars ...
Not a Pokémon person at all honestly, however I very much enjoyed my time with Arceus❤ did not appreciate the handholding nature of the long winded tutorial however 😂 as I just wanted to explore and enjoy the game…….
Neir Automata really surprised me on how well it ran on the switch, as I have never played it before I was happy to have it available to me.
I’m ironically a bit weird with regards to the Xenoblade games😂 as my favorite is actually Xenoblade 2❤ then 3 and then the first one. ( Xenoblade chronicles X is actually my favorite game however, just sad it’s not on the switch)
Fire emblem three houses 😂 what a fun game definitely not my fave in the series however. I still very much enjoyed it
Yea, the tutorial really killed a lot of my enjoyment in the game which is why I dropped it lol. I might go back to it someday though.
I feel like once I finish all three games, Xenoblade 3 will probably be my favorite based off the little I've played of it but I'm not sure yet.
I don't think the combat in Three houses is as fun as Engage or the 3ds games, but the Blue Lions story put it at the top for me.
Thanks for watching!
@@OrangeLoot lols yea the tutorial for Arcues really busted a hole in my overall experience for the game in not a positive way 😭 I never finished ether for that very reason. ( not a babe in the woods that needs my hand held constantly😈)
I really liked the supporting cast in Xenoblade 2 as well as the overly complex and deep combat system, and the humor while definitely a bit childish and anime esx was enjoyable. My biggest complaint with the game was actually Rex as I did not like him at all and rarely played as him once I had the opportunity to switch. And I’m probably one of the few people who actually liked the random gacha mechanics of obtaining your blades.
Xenoblade 3 I had a difficult time getting attached to any of the main characters honestly ( some of the side quest characters were actually the biggest highlights of the game for me) the combat system was good and definitely very polished compared to the other games however for me I was not a fan of all of the multiple job classes you had the option to have each character master( and in some cases you were forced to master) . While most have enjoyed it🥰 it was a big turn off for me.
As for the original Xenoblade game.. I liked it and beat it 2 times however their was just something about it that has left a less then favorable impression on me.
Fire emblem fates is my favorite in the series ❤️ ( really want it to get a switch port with some upscaled graphics and features)
Xenoblade 1 is in my top 3 fav games of all time. It's a masterpiece in every way that matters. But I agree, the side content isnt great, and the fact they lock character skill trees behind it is pretty rough. But the game can be enjoyed just the same without doing any side content, so I give it a pass.
Yeah I agree. Would you say that the side missions are better in Xenoblade 2? I plan on beating the first game sometime this year so I was just curious if they've improved.
Unfortunately, I'd say the style of side quests is similar in 2, but there is a lot less of them. There are also some blades locked to side quests, so it gives you a bigger sense of reward for competing them. But yes, overall is say the system is better in 2. Xenoblade 2 is almost on equal footing with 1, in my mind. They are both fantastic games. I loved 3 as well, but it falls (very slightly) under 1 and 2 in my personal tier list.
I think what makes these games so good is the story. They are truly up there as some of the best video game storytelling I've ever played.
I hope for your sake you haven't seen any spoilers, because experiencing all the big moments in real time, will really make the experience more special for you.
baldur's gate 3 isnt on switch?
No it's not. I'm not sure if it could even run well on the switch. Hopefully, it'll get ported when the Switch 2 comes out.
If most of those look and run better on stronger hardware I'm buying them somewhere else than Switch. That being said grew
Yea, I don't blame you. I think 5 or 6 of them you can get on PC or console.
Also, thanks for watching!
Apparently the DQ11 that everyone else played is great because the one I played was childish and uninspired.
Soooo not a boring gritty generic art style whilst having a perfected traditional turn based battle system.
Masterpiece
bad for you
I've heard people say that they thought the story was mediocre or "just ok" at best so you're not alone. I personally just like the characters so much that I guess it doesn't bother me as much.
Thanks for watching anyway!
That's with every Dragon Quest games. The series isn't as story driven compared to other series like Final Fantasy, Tales or Xenoblade. Sure. The story is the same tales as others. But that's not really an bad thing and they are some complex & difference way here & there. You can argue the same with Mario, Zelda, Pokemon and other franchise's that does it and yet, people still love those franchise's.
Plus the story of every Dragon Quest isn't as dark, gritty, overcomplicated and all Shakespearian writing as other RPG games. They always lighthearted and simple to understand. While at the same time, has some serious & dark moments and the gameplay is complex & challenging. Something that most RPG'S suffered from. Especially Final Fantasy.
super robot wars 30
13 sentinels
octopath traveler I and II
Smt nocturne, smt v 😮
Shin Megami Tensei V will probably be in my part 2 video. Thanks for watching!
no trails no ryza no final fantasy what gives
This is just the first video in a series showcasing rpgs on the switch and you already named a couple that'll be in part 2 or 3 lol. But, thanks for watching anyway
No xenoblade 2? RIP
