My father was the Jolly 13 pilot on this mission. He never talks about it. He did earn a Silver Star that day.

Was on the USS Coral Sea. The losses--especially Joseph, Gary & Danny--haunt me to this day. God Bless them all! And thank you for posting this wonderful presentation by Dan Hoffman.

We left 3 great men on the island to fend for themselves until captured. How dare the generals and pentagon for leaving anyone behind! The brave men of the last battle deserved more than that. God Bless America Hargrove,Marshall,Hall Rest In peace soldiers!

I was 17 and in boot camp when this went down. I remember it very well. The DI's came in with a newspaper, the front page was all about this event. They told us to get ready the war wasn't over yet. I'm glad to see this video. God bless you all and Semper F

My first duty station was on Okinawa with Golf 2/9. I'll never forget the look on the face of a Marine when he described what happened on that island.

I was still in high school, but remember hearing about it. I didn't know the details nor did I car to, because I was young and stupid.

That Machine Gun Team of Danny Marshall, Gary Hall, and Joseph Hargrove were with the last squad that covered the withdrawal of "Golf" Company and then "Echo" Company. In the Fog of War these Marines became MIA's. Also, Ashton Loney of "Golf" company was left behind wrapped in a poncho on the beach. The hero's of this operation are these mentioned above and others that lost their lives at Koh Tang. Also, do not forget the the helicopter that went down with 23 on board on it's way to execute their mission. This mission is not about those that survived, it is about those that did not.

"We Will Never Forget Our Brothers" I was assigned to Fox Co. 2/9 (3rd Marine Div) Our helicopter received much fire power & damage that would force us to return. As for the guys, often we either knew each other or recognized one another by face. I remember seeing the falling heroes on base. I remember often chatting with "Looney" of Golf Co. rip and a pet name we'd called him. My best friend Mark "D" (also Golf Co) was wounded but air lifted to safety. Incidentally, years later, the two of us would reunite. There are many heroes. "We Will Never Forget Our Brothers" May 1975

I honor and respect all lost. Would have been great had the 18 Air Force Security Policemen plus 3 crew that were lost out of NKP Thailand been mentioned. RIP all
