The mystery and trailers were better too. Trailers now try to tell the narrative too much, i know this particular one does too but there was still pot luck kinda feeling and somehow less disappointment. Luckily imdb and personnel checks are usually my go to-s now

Wow, talk about a throw back. I remember when the video store I worked at as a teen in the 90s had the promo materials for this. It was initially released as "I Come in Peace" in the US due to another recent movie bearign the title of "Dark Angel". The standee was awesome but it also came with a bunch of the discs (which were just blank CDs) with "I Come in Peace" written on them and hooks/string to hang them from the ceiling. I think I may still have one in my trunk of goodies form back then. I'll have to check next time I go to the storage place.

Classic 90's action flick, with one liners, explosions every 2 seconds and it has the german guy from Die Hard!!

I went to see this back when it came out in 1990. It's absolutely ridiculous but I enjoyed it and never forgot it. I usually went to see award nominated stuff, but there was only this that night.
Wow, I remember this craziness. That "I come in peace" line and those murders discs brought me back.
classic film is always the best way to watch.
Makes for a good double feature with Predator 2.

Original/international title = Dark Angel, US title = I Come in Peace (renamed due to potential naming conflicts with older movies with similar names)

might have been partly where they got the idea from but mainly I think it was from the movie Big Trouble In Little China

The Human brain, well the way our memory works is quite fascinating. I honestly have NO idea how or even why I decided to remember this movie (of all movies) 34 years after a highschool bud loaned me a copy of this movie. What I'm getting at is, I didn't choose to remember it - it just came into my head somehow 😂
I vaguely recall most scenes but I remember it was about some big scary crazy fecker on drugs lol ( the crazy fecker was an alien now I realise ). 1990 was an interesting year for movies though I must say. Another classic that's just popped into my head: Nightbreed! 😀

It’s one of those cases of being called “I come in peace” in America because It didn’t want to be confused with dark angel another movie that was coming out about the same time.

@@TheAkinzo1 The premise had much promise in that one, but I was actually disappointed with the movie at the time - maybe I should rewatch it.
Prefer him as Ivan Drago & Gunner Jensen! ;)
@@sverr0r good point there about his character as Ivan Drago. I think his performance in Universal Soldier was more expressive and there was something about his dialogue in that movie that made him stand out, even though he was the villain.

This movie was pretty good, the special and practical effects were pretty cool, mostly the explosions and fast paced action. Not a masterpiece but yes a movie which gives what you looking for.

I have the American release "I Come In Peace" ... "And You Go In Pieces"
The villain arrives at earth to creates drugs from humans. Great concept, and this drug dealer has some nasty weapons too boot. Good story line, with a odd couple teaming up to solve the problem. In the end, this movie is crazy enough for a entertaining 2 hour.
Back when movies were actually good and entertaining.
This was titled I Come In Peace when in theaters.
This is a fun movie. I liked Dolph's cop partner too. Some good banter and you didn't know if he was going to double cross them or not.
He Played in a "Masters of Horror" Episode, too :) in the Deer Woman Episode :)
God this aged terribly in the greatest way possible
And I forgot to say, no CGI! Real practical effects and explosions, and a great set of interviews with the cast.

I'm looking for a movie kinda like this. I believe there were 2 blonde guys like the one in this movie that war dark clothes with black shades. There was a fight scene where one of them pushed a car out of his way with his foot or jumped on top of the car and they were fighting a small resistance group or small army but there were like lasers flying around something you would see in Star Wars.Just send me any ideas and I will look them up.

It's the original title. I Come in peace was alternative title. Since there were already two other movies released under the title Dark Angel.

Dark Angel (aka I Come in Peace) is coming to UHD 4K in 2024! I love this movie. Sci-fi, action, drug dealers, cops, casual sexism (Diane says ‘I love abuse as much as the next girl’) and BOOBS! A touch of homophobia with Boner and his black ‘boyfriend’, some simple copy and paste characters that only hang around long enough to die, it’s part B movie awful and part genius.
