Ella I need you
I buy soon a alienware x17 r2
Hi Ella, would you recommend moving to Mac from Windows since I've always seen Windows laptops slowing down over time? Also to not land into same issue, have you seen your Macbook slow down ever?
This is genuinely the first "mac setup" video I've seen that isn't the same copy/paste tips and actually had some originality. Thank you sm!
Exactly.
Agreed. Really helpful

I mean, out of those 14 things, 12 is covered by every other “Mac setup video” of other CZcamsrs so 😂
This is a game changer! Ever since transitioning to Mac, I've struggled with my productivity compared to windows. Each one of your tips are going to be so helpful once i start school in a month. Ty so much
I dont own a mac, but used to love them and was trying to see what they looked like currently and what their shortcomings still where. Super dope video, and I really appreciate it! Concise and straight to the point!
Your videos are super interesting and useful, I can see you put a LOT of work into them, and they bring me a lot of joy, thank you! Those are great tips and I had no idea about most of those options/apps.
SUPER good video! You covered EVERYTHING but not in an intimidating or overwhelming way. Will recommend to new AND OLD mac users!
As a windows user making the switch over, this was really helpful! Thank you
love these types of videos!! the desktop widgets are so convenient to have, esp with a quick hotcorner swipe to see the desktop.
Great stuff! Im loving my new m2 air and I really appreciate the work you put into this video. Very helpful!
i love how concise yet informative this was!
Took me more than an hour to work through your video so I could copy all your cool suggestions to my Macbook - thank you so much!!
Super great guide! Easy for people to understand, especially first-time Mac users. Just got my Air today and love it. Thanks!
This was SO helpful. You always do your research and explain it very well. It's a real time saver from someone knowledgeable. Thanks so much for sharing.
For the screensave I have been using polar clock for years. It's simply beautiful and free to use
This is incredibly helpful, thank you! While I have an iPhone, I've mostly only ever used Windows and a little bit of Linux, so I'm not super familiar with MacOS. Ordered a starlight M2 Air this week and am very excited!
Your production is really nice! Props to you for your amazing editing skills!
I just got a new Macbook Air M2 and this video showed me all the must have settings! I loved all the tips you provided! AMAZING!!!☺
WOW this is the first video i saw which makes MAC so much useful and more productive! Cant deny that, what you did makes MAC more like windows but in a good way! Keep it up!
thanks for this, my m2 looks so much amazing now and I love the custom widgets
Actually really helpful! I'm enjoying the format of your videos, keep it up!
Ngl, i love this person! So organised and minimalistic, i love it! I'm still using the tips for my old 2015 macbook air, still looking good!
Your videos are very aesthetic. I love the rounded corners design in your PiP and screenshare. Excellent choice of visual design.
Very much enjoyed the video. Thank You
Items 1 and 2 were also the first things I did.
One because I like more screen real estate and Two because I just switch from Windows to MacOS and I ALWAYS used the snap shortcuts on Windows 10 and needed a solution on the Mac
The Finder Preferences were also great to know. Glad I can see the path now in the window.
Again Thank You
I just switched over from Windows and this is by far the most helpful and practical video I’ve seen on how to improve the everyday usability of the MBA. Too many videos focus on obscure features that most users won’t care about. Thanks, you made a lifelong PC user’s transition a lot easier and more pleasant! 😃
One solider fallen💂
This was actually a great and unique to do video! learned a few things, thanks for making it!
Thank you for this video it was very well edited and put together! I'm a student as well and these tips helped me a lot!
Fantastic video. Been searching for Maccy and Rectangle for the longest time.
This is very informative & helpful. Thank you Ella! Keep up the great work & for sharing your experiences!
Didn't know about any of these options, probably the best Mac video I've seen. I did toggle my finder to group similar items though, this way it'll group all pdf, images, documents together in divergent rows so that I'm not sifting through random docs for a pdf I might need.
Great tips for the Mac, love your no nonsense, grounded delivery, right down to your favorite color 😅
THANK YOU! VERY helpful video. I got the mini calendar, did the hot corners, changed my screenshot shortcut, and the memoji! ❤
Glad it helped!
Good job girl! You deserve to be supported!
Although the notch might be annoying for some users, I would prefer to have it shown. It's what makes the new models of MacBook distinct from the rest. And that notch is the reason why there are thinner bezels. It disappears anyways when you're on full screen.
I agree! I like the notch and want to always see it, because I always want to see my menu bar. I use it often and it’s annoying having it disappeare
Yes I agree…it shows how you spend $$$ to buy the new MacBook😏
@@mr_niceman yes. always necessary to flex 😎 it's ur hard earned money after all
@@vonbuquid7525 hell yeah bro, first thing after I receive my M2 air, Imma go straight to a cafe and chill🤪
@@mr_niceman me too i can't wait, cafe and library gonna be my new home
Thank for this video. I too like to have many apps and chrome windows running at once and am not planning to change that. Especially liked the mouse app to make scrolling directions separate from the trackpad and the open source screen splitter. Queen!
This video is too good actually everything I already added to my new mac but condensed into a simple video. Definitely recommend this and Subscribing!
i swear by maccy and rectangle ever since i saw your m1 set up!! i love your videos sm
Just wanted to say I subbed from this video alone….really great and original ideas. Very refreshing to see in this area of CZcams.
Thank you for the tips Ella!!
This was so helpful - found a lot of cool apps and tricks. Thanks for sharing!
I genuinely had no idea about the customisable folder icons😮
Number 9, damn helpful
Genuinely the best mac apps video ever!
Thank you soooooo much to let me know the wonderful Grid Clock!!! Love it so much 😍
I have to watch this later. It seems so helpful for new Mac users! Thank you!
lots of useful tips to improve daily use, thanks for sharing!
Some great tips here that I never thought about. Thank you!
Good Video! love how you get straight to the point and I love your editing style.
thanks for watching!
Great vid and great suggestions. Just added a few of these into my set up.
My M2 is being delivered today, so I know this video will be super helpful when I watch it 😅 thanks for the great videos and content!
Happy to help!
This video actually helped me to setup my MacBook better than it was. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Excellent unique video. Will be getting my MacBook Air next week and can’t wait to customize it with your suggestions. Have become a fan of your channel. 👍🏼
This was so good and had loads of actually useful tips and recommendations. I subscribed right away!
Thanks... got some new tips from your video. Great job!
Really helpful. Thanks. Learned a lot I will do with new M2 Air, and also to my M1 Mini. Using Macs for years and didn’t know most of these or spent money on apps to fix them.
First-time mac user here who is VERY scared of how difficult the transition will be. Thank you for making this video.
For the majority of transition problems remember that the command key is generally the mac version of the windows control key - e.g - command + c copies in mac, control + c copies in windows. Apart from that the only real differences day to day are finder vs explorer and how to open apps. The apps themselves are almost identical to windows ones, assuming you're using the common productivity tools.
how are you VERY scared about a laptop 😭 no hate just sounds strange
Just got mine today & I absolutely love it!
This was so helpful, especially mini calendar and rectangle! Rectangle is amazing I can't believe in all my years as a mac user, I never knew about this! Lifesaver.
How did you get the widgets on the home screen?
thanks Ella, much appreciated. I didn't even know there are custom widgets out there!
I just bought my MacBook Air M2 and these tips are amazing to use !! keep it up :)
Nice.your videos really helped me a lot . This will definitely be my go to when I received my MacBook Air in 7 days time . Thanks Ella
i like her content a lot, it's joyful and useful
amazing! took note of some tips from this video, keep going!
Some actual new useful setup apps. Nice work!
This has been super useful, thank you so much!!
Thank you so much for this! It's super helpful
Love rectangle and Maccy. Being a DevOps these tools are essential for working on Mac desktop
Solid content G 👊🏽
the first time I watched this video was from my windows laptop and now I could finally say that I'm watching this from my M2!!! very helpulf video, I loved it!
Mine arrived 2 days ago and I'm finding it a steep learning curve after using Ubuntu and Linux Mint for many years but feel better informed after watching this. Thank you.
Great to hear!
First time using any Mac OS as I am an android/windows baby since the start. Thanks for sharing these tips! It will make the transition easier. waiting for my mac air to be delivered and start exploring it :)
longtime windows laptop user here who desperately needed these tips after swapping to MacBooks. Thanks!
Just bought my first mac after using windows, this video is very helpful especially the window resizing! Still learning mac OS but going to watch more of you videos!!
Amazing video! That’s very helpful!
The best video I’ve seen 🥂
There were so many cute tips I loveee😌✨
Also ur accent is super cute 😭💐
Thank you. New mac user and this has been super helpful.
Thanks for these helpful tips. I just recently got a MacBook Pro M1 on sale and TopNotch looks brilliant on the display.
Quick tip: you can type in caffeinate inside the terminal to stop the mac from sleeping. Just press down control + c to exit caffeinate.
This is actually super useful wow, thanks! Love linear mouse
Great video, some really useful tips and tricks! Unlike all the other MacBook videos... Thanks!
Super helpful video, Ella!
Awesome ideas and thank you for all the cool open-source software ideas! My only gripe with the "more space" part is that I've come to that milestone in life that includes "macular degeneration", which is what happens when one begins to edge upwards in their quinquagenerianism...
Looking forward to more, Ella!
Stage Manager is a new feature introduced in Ventura.

Damn this is almost the same setup as me. I try to minimize how many additional apps I download so I keep it pretty minimal, but Rectangle is a must have. Def love that you recommended open source apps too.
i learned about the weather widget, thanks! :)
Awesome video of which you have showcased upon the first features and also thing to do on the new MacBook as well as the unboxing and the customization thanks for sharing
thanks so much!
Your videos are brilliant stuff, so original and refreshing :)
Really liked this video - well done. Lots of really useful ideas.
I don't even hace mac but after I have watched all tips and tricks of windows, for content I started watching mac tips and all them were very genericbasic stuff oreven repititive. This is just GOLD great work keep doing what you do!!!
Instead of CalcBar, I use spotlight search to calculate.
For the full month calendar, apple has a default widget for that. I just swipe on trackbar with 2 fingers and it will appear
In general setting set Scroll bars to always show makes it easier to scroll I know you can guest trackpad gesters but if you have a mouse it's handy
Thanks Ella. Like the top notch, stack and the weather 👍
Excellent Ella, you have a brilliant mind. Thanks for sharing. I’ll try much of this, TY!😃
So many amazing tips! Thank you! 🥰
thank you so much, very helpful
The notch looks really good
Most helpful mac video I have ever seen!
you are an amazing human being... thank you so much for these tips I did enjoy the video and how easy to follow up.
The Maccy app is a good find! Thanks for sharing that!
Multitasking is just for fun. For productivity, full screen app and cmd+tab for switching Apps (remove animations for faster switches)
i just wanted to set up my new mac for work ended up making it cute... 10/10 would recommend
Thanks a bunch! This video made my Mac feel more like my own
I really liked this video! It was a little too fast and I had to keep pausing and going back to see how you did certain tasks but overall I found it very helpful.
