    I wouldn't loved to have seen this version of Wishbone Ash

    They are one of my favorite bands to never have seen in concert in the USA. HArmonies, double leads nearly every song, several solos in all their songs. I love the Allman Brothers, and they don't come close to Wishbone Ash in this regard.

    My favorite WA song and great version but are we going to ignore the bass pretty much drowning out Andy Powell’s solos? 😬

      yeah, I'm trying to figure out who the lead singer/bass player is here...

      @@raynic1173looking at it now I'm thinking it's from that brief period when John Wetton was in the band.

    • @raynic1173
      @raynic1173 Před 9 měsíci

      @@paulweatherly3222 nah, wetton played with them in '80-'81, this is from '99. So, no Martin, no Laurie (no Ted) and no Steve. I think this is around the time Andy took sole ownership of the naming rights to WA.
      The bass playing is really good as well as his voice. I'll dig more later, later...

      @@paulweatherly3222 here it is...Period Members January 1996 - 1997

    Have to demur from the comments above- although the lead vocal is drenched in echo it's very flat and ponderous. The bass is pretty good though- nice and high- and given that it's only 1 original member with 3 drafted in recruits they make a decent fist of it.

      The way he does the vocal with the syncopated bass line is incredible !!! I don't know if the guitarist on the Les Paul is Ted Turner but he sure has his touch in the little solo sections.
