1. Enable virtualization in bios.
2. Enable Virtual Machine Platform (2:40)
3. Enable developer mode (3:20)
4. Install adb (4:10)
5. Extract the WsaPackage , copy the kernel file in the WsaPackage folder that you extracted. (5:10)
6. Install android subsystem via ADB (5:50)
7. Turn on developer mode (6:30)
8. Fixing the sign in problem (8:10)
do a windows 11 WSA sideload tutorial. im sure its using adb to sideload but i would still enjoy a video
One important detail - you have to uninstall Windows Subsystem for Android if it is already on your machine or this method won't work. (I'm guessing it was installed on my machine with the Amazon App store preview installation). But otherwise, this video is great, thanks!

When running the adb installer, it gave me a path not specified error and wouldn't install the drivers. Here's how to get around this. First, you need to go to your C: drive, then click on Users, then click your user profile. From there, create a new folder and label it "Desktop" and move the installer into that folder. Open the folder and run the installer as an administrator. Boom, done.

My big thing is that this could actually help Windows 11 on ARM a lot.
Some applications have Android versions that are therefore ARM but no ARM Windows version, so being able to use/sideload those in the meantime on a Win11 on ARM device should help the transition even more.
Also not to mention that it pretty much could let you yeet WIndows 11 on ARM onto any Android Tablet with a powerful enough processor /Qualcomm Processor and use it as it were a android tablet in most scenarios using Android apps but then if say a Win11 on ARM version of an app runs better, use that instead (Emulators)

Are you going to do any game performance tests on this? Would be interested to see what is compatible. While I doubt it'll work, it'd be really interesting if you can change what your device ID is to trick Google Play into letting you download (and play?) the NVIDIA SHIELD exclusive games like MGS2 and MGS3. Would be absolutely killer to have those titles running on PC.
You don’t have to hide your 172 IP addresses, they’re internal and not externally routable, like 192 point 168 or 10 point .
127.x.x.x ip addresses are internally local, the specified subnet is 172.x.x.x (In August 2012, ARIN began allocating “172” address space to internet service, wireless, and content providers.)
Not whole 172 seriese is internal. The internal IP address are from 172.16.x.x to 172.31.x.x only. Apart from this these are 10.x.x.x and 192.168.x.x everything else is not Private (127.x.x.x is loopback though)

I've done this on a Surface Pro 5, A Surface Book 2, A hyper-V Virtual machine, and my gaming desktop. Generally works well. But I was seeing constant disk corruption on the gaming PC after installing WSA. BSOD into an unusable state, which had to be restored from system image backup. It will be running fine, then an Android app will lock. Things will be be fine for a bit, then bam BSOD. If the computer actually boots up a disk check for errors finds multiple errors. And if you run the disk repair the system seems to be okay, but you'll notice things like some apps not launching, or in one case failure of basic functions like THE MOUSE. Other times the File system is shredded and won't even fully boot up after BSOD. And yes, I'm sure it's WSA because when I uninstall it the BSODS and disk corruption end. I've tried different disk and memory configs to no avail. I updated my system bios too. No dice. I even moved the Modified WSA files to a different disk than the system disk and It still blows up. Crazy. Last ditch effort I'm installing NVME M.2 drives soon. That was already going to happen next week anyway. After I'm up and running of those puppies I'll try it again. If that fails I guess I'll do without on my gaming rig. Not the end of the world. It also just occurred to me that my antivirus Malwarebytes might be the culprit. But I've seen nothing in its logs.

This hack is actually quite simple if you know a thing or two about how Android works. It's simply a matter of sideloading Gapps to the system image. With custom ROMs, you usually use some kind of recovery tool to sideload Gapps to the system image of your device, but since WSA has no recovery mode, sideloading has to be done manually.
As long as Microsoft will continue to allow users to modify the system image used for WSA, this hack should continue to work. Don't expect perfect compatibility though, there is a reason why so few apps have been released for WSA to date.
I wonder what do they use for ARM-only apps on WSA ? Do they still use Intel's old Houdini emulator or did the make their own ? Sadly, I do not have any active Windows 11 installations to check and I don't feel like upgrading the OS on my main rig.

Thanks a lot man, I appreciate that. Although after all this trouble, the only game that I wanted (The Elder Scrolls Legends) was not available haha. But I downloaded "Ant Legion" just to test it out, and it's a pretty fun game actually! It's like a Tower Defense with bugs that you fuse together to create more powerful bugs to defend your base.

PSA: Google is releasing an official play store for Win11 to compete with Amazon. You may want to wait on attempting this. If you're using VMware and rely on virtualization features for your VMs, do not enable Virtual Machine Platform on Windows as it will break a lot of the functionality in your VMs (vmware has its own thing going and enabling the one in windows breaks it). Disabling it fixes it. You can enable/disable at your discretion and use the play store as in this video, but just keep in mind your VMware VMs will stop working correctly. Disable before using your VMs again.

Hopefully this runs better than Bluestacks, I love the idea of Bluestacks but I've had nothing but buggy performance out of it.
Blue stacks run good on like ryzen 7 cpu , since you can use your 4 extra cores for it , i had great exprience with it on my ryzen 7 1700 when i had it ,you can tweek it to use 4 more cores and max rams works like charm

One more thing for everyone. After you extract the zip file, make sure to put the folder in a safe location eg. Local Disc (C:). Because you cannot delete the folder afterwards. Windows Subsystem for android will run from that folder; using that folder. If u delete any files from that folder, it will cause the WSA to NOT work.
is there anywhere eles i can save the file i cannot find local disc in my folders. is disc the same as devices & drives?

I ran into an issue where the 15 second ADB refused to install. Tried downloading from different sources, updating drivers, moving folders around....turns out all you have to do is make 1 quick addition. Before you run the ADB-setup, take a detour to your C-dtive. Here's the path: click C-drive---users---**your_user_name**. Inside **your_user_,name** check and see if you have a folder labeled "Desktop". If not, create one. That's it.
Go back to ADB Setup and try again. Worked for me

When I try to do the ADB install and Fastboot, it gives me "The system cannot find the path specified". Do I need to move the file to a different folder, or do I need to do something else. I'm stuck at this part rn...

I had the same issue. Turned out to be the antivirus keep on deleting it. I excluded this directory in antivirus exclude list and it worked

I forget the exact fix, but if you're running from a drive that isn't C:\ you will need to either change the letter to C or make a folder "Users\\Desktop" on C:\. That's all you need to do to run the program again. Weird problem, but is what it is, I guess.

No. It's same as Windows subsystem for Linux. Run Linux kernel on top of windows 11 through virtualization

~If you get "Unkown" for the IP in WSA, try clicking "Refresh a few time. If that doesn't work, then you need click on "Manage developer settings" under the Developer mode option, and scroll down to "Wireless debugging" and click on it. Here, it will show you the IP Address and Port numbers. The IP address is everything before the colon. For example, 123.45.678.900:12345. Your IP will just be 123.45.678.900. And that's it.

First issue - ADB won't copy files (solution) go to disk C/user and create a new folder with name Desktop
Second, it's that the ADB said more than one emulator actually working (Solution) adb -e shell

Thanks for the video, I got to the starting windows subsystem for Android screen at 6:41 in the video, then the blue bar just continues to go across, but never goes beyond that point. When I heard Android App support was part of Windows 11, I was stupid and thought, it would be simple for anyone. But of course it isn't, it requires a set up beyond simple user level. Bluestacks works fine on my PC, so I'll stick with that.

Hi there ..... I followed the tutorial, and managed to have a Pixel 5 on my 15 y.o Asus .... Bravo
One small thing, I failed to install that 15 second ADB installer ....the system can't find the path specified when installing system-wide .... This made me to install the full platform tools .....
How did you do it? I have the same problem here
