In recognition of the tens of millions of people (or more) who still consider Diana to be a "wronged woman," King Charles could have shown sensitivity when he ascended the throne by keeping Camilla's title as "Princess Consort" (as HE HAD PROMISED TO DO at the time of their "marriage"), and not crowning her as "queen." That would have helped immensely in the eyes of many who now revile the couple on their thrones. To do as he did was not an act of love; it was an act of extreme selfishness. 😒👎
At the time of their marriage, he said it was their intention that she be known as Princess Consort. However, there is no precedent for that title. By English common law the wife of the king is the queen. It would take a literal act of Parliament to change it, and the agreement of all 14 realms would be required as well. Barring action by Parliament, it was inevitable that Camilla would one day become Queen from the moment Charles slipped the ring on her finger.

Camilla in my opinion is a very selfish woman, she should have done the decent thing & walked away giving Diana & Charles a real chance at making their marriage work. Camilla wanted Charles no matter the cost which in the end proved very high for everyone, Diana in Camilla's own words was chosen by her for Charles as she was rather Dim & Stupid little did she know Diana was far from stupid in fact despite the Press & everyone putting her down for not going to University which was a joke as Charles wasn't exactly Academic himself unlike Prince William who got into Uni on his own merits Charles didn't he got in because of who he was not his Academic ability. Diana's marriage was doomed before it even began even Queen Elizabeth & the Duke of Edinburgh were at odds with Charles over Camilla. Diana did everything to make Charles love her to no avail, even after Diana's death Camilla never gave up & ended up marrying Charles which I have never considered ethical. Camilla will never be a Queen, Consort or otherwise, I personally would never curtsey to her I most certainly do not believe that at the last minute on her deathbed the Queen Elizabeth 11 gave permission for Camilla to become Queen Consort when she couldn't stand her, she was banned for a long time from all Royal Engagements even though her affair was well out in the open her husband had left her the Queen still wouldn't give in. Then Charles said she was non-negotiable & was going to marry her, perhaps then the Queen should have done what was done to King Edward force him to abdicate & the Throne go to William. It seems when you think about it Camilla destroyed more than 1 marriage as well as life. Camilla was never meant to be Queen let alone a Duchess, she ruined so many lives in her quest to become the most notorious Royal of the 21st Century. I'd like to know was it worth it just because you were jealous of a younger more attractive unfortunately, Naive, young Aristocrat who genuinely loved Charles, heaven knows why she deserved so much better than that.

Charles did stay loyal to Diana until the marriage broke down in 1986, like Charles said in his interview with Jonathan Dimblebee, when Diana was caught having an affair with her bodyguard. After Diana’s death, the Queen did come to like Camilla. You could see it whenever they had engagements together. The Queen did want Camilla to become Queen in the fullness of time.

The queen knew about her son’s wrongdoing and did nothing. She had the power to say if he meets his mistress he will lose his title as future king or if he divorce the mother of future king he will forfeit his throne. The queen could have set her foot down so the right thing by Princess Diana but she chose not to. I pray Prince William is good on his word and keeps his promise that one day when he is to be king, he will give back his mother’s so deserved title as princess and bring her coffin back to the royal plot to be bury next to Charles. As for Camilla, I pray Prince William will strip her title and wipe her portrait out of the royal family history for good and cremate her for the ocean far away from Princess Diana. Diana is already buried in the Spencer estate, Althorp. Shes where she belongs, back home with her family (The Spencer’s.) I doubt they would move her resting place.
Queen Elizabeth did not have the power to make Charles forfeit his throne. William will not give Diana her HRH back, because titles are not bestowed upon dead people.
