    Nice to see that I’m not the only one hunting out of a hammock in the backcountry! Under utilized, in my opinion.

      Do you use a top and under quilt as well? Seems like a lot to pack. I use a trekking pole tent. Packs down super small and only weighs 2lbs

      @@eddiekane1202 I use a sleeping bag built for hammock camping. It has a pass through in the hood and footbox. Essentially creating a “cocoon.” I’m never looking for a flat spot to camp. Just need a couple of trees. If I need to get above the tree line, I can either spike out or use my tarp and trekking poles for shelter.

      @@360EverydayPerry nice setup. I have a buddy that prefers hammock as well for similar reasons. I haven’t tried it yet but you make a strong argument for it considering flat ground can be a luxury in a lot of areas. I’m always looking to scale down on weight most times I won’t even carry a sleeping bag I just roll with a pad and a woobie. I do want to go after some late season cougar this year so I’m looking to try something new
