Joan used to stay at the hotel I worked in years ago. I took her room service a lot on the evenings. She always opened the door, bathrobe on, no makeup, hair in a towel and would welcome me in. She'd ask me to stay for a cup of tea sometimes, so I did and we'd chat. I didn't see her for years until we met at an event and she knew exactly who I was, remembered my name and we caught up like old friends. She's an absolute powerhouse.

I love this story! ❤️ I catered Tori Spelling’s 1st engagement party & got to know Candi Spelling & her friends. Her friends were always SO lovely but Mrs. Spelling was just rude despite knowing who I was. For years, just rude and bitter. Still love running into her “friends.”
She was having a tea with room service? Weren't you in a hurry to clean other rooms as well?
You can see shes a very intelligent and honest Person right away- no fake smiles etc.
CorporateQ, love your story of meeting her at your hotel, and interacting with her through your work. Years ago, I was with her in an airport waiting area, for a flight from Atlanta to Manchester UK. Told her about a fun (successful) memory of her. When I was traveling and visiting salons to sell hair care products in rural Kansas and Nebraska and Iowa towns.....i I noticed if I talked about the love/hate fascination with Alexis...my sales went up drastically. Joan Collins roared, "well you owe me then !!! Like Dolly says 'it costs alot to look this cheap!' "
Joan Collins is just amazing.. if we can all be like her when we are almost 90, we will be doing very well. She is an inspiration to us all!
