This must be in our history books, we Filipinos must be proud of the people who made, shaped, and loved this country!
My great great grandmother was a guerilla in the 1900s too Her name is Francisca Albarico. We were just not so sure about her records of being a warrior but with her guerilla I.D. left she was a lieutenant in Ormoc, Leyte.
I am so glad there is a channel about Phlippine history
*Capampangan history. Not philippines

Considering many Filipino clans were matrilineal in society design, it shouldn’t surprise us that our women fought with us to fight. The spirit to fight to the bitter end doesn’t just exist in us Filipino men. Great video Pare!!! Let’s raise our women to the highest!!🙏🏾✊🏾
Yes!! 🔥🔥🔥
i think spain has successfully suppressed the filipina warrior's heart with the 'maria clara' crap (religious, obedient, submissive).
Ur absolutely right and the true filipina woman are tough and fearless and doesn't know any gender female weakness but strength and fights for the right only Western people who teach filipino woman to become weak and submissive like their woman that is easy to get punch like the majority of them doing it
I'm sure everyone will agree, Filipinas warrior heart still burns up to this day. My family is always Matron led but we love and protect our dear male members . My grandma is now 98yo but still no one in the family can override her decisions but she's diplomatic, strong and unbiased. She's still the person we all go until today if there's any dramas and I love how she gives her verdicts. 🥰😂
As an American I hate how little is known of the Philippines resistance against the Japanese. In the west the French resistance gets talked about a lot but they weren't anywhere near as successful as the Filipino resistance was
Regardless, I'm happy our two countries have a friendly relationship and hope it will remain that way for as long as our two nations stand
Nievez fernandez maybe a bit overrated in philippine history, but we Warays are very very proud of her :)
Maybe because of her method of fighting is the reason sbe stand out. A barefoot assasin working alone befote forming her own group..
You can’t see in history books that a former beauty queen take up arms after she won the crown to fight the invaders.
Only in the Philippines or at least I know.
Yassss! Great video, maraming salamat! We come from a long line of revolutionary women! I cannot help but think of Recca, Josephine, Kamil, Ka Katrin and the many modern guerilla fighters who continue to defend the Filipino people from all kinds of exploitation that persists until today. Clenched fist salute to the revolutionary women serving the people - including those who may not be guerrilla fighters but contribute greatly to defending human rights and the struggle for national liberation! ✊🏾💜✊🏾
the most popular woman guerilla fighter is actress Carmen Rosales. A barrio(now divided in 2) was named after her( Carmen in Rosales, Pangasinan).
if the U.S. ever finds itself in the same situation, i'll tell you this right now, people need to knock off the sexist fight and cool the friggin power trippin and respect experience whether the leaders be male OR female! Anyone agree?
i do
Agreed
My Apu Clara, from tarlac poisoned countless Japanese soldiers in her years as a resistance spy.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I majored in History but wow I still have plenty to learn. thanks for the videos, hope your books are available here, will buy one for sure.
Don't forget, Yay Panlillo of Markings Guerillas, I just read her book "The Crucible" recently.
Thank you for all this wonderful history that I can share with others. People don't believe me when I tell them that Filipino American relationship has not always been amiable. My high school teacher claimed I was brainwashed when I told her MacArthur did not save the Philippines and didn't return until Filipinos have surrounded Manila the last stronghold of the Japanese.
Wait I need more information on this-
Another excellent video, I did enjoy it too much... Maraming salamat sa iyo!
wow I didn't even know and I'm filipino/american. Thanks! I feel so proud to be pinay!
This is excellent!~ Heard stuff from my lola as well~ I wouldn’t mind listening to her over and over, because It’s just awesome to hear and know!
I'd love to eat from your Lola too! 😍
Kirby Araullo Hahaha! Eat while listening to great stories~
My Lola neighbours told me Japanese would throw flowers in your house if they like a woman then they either rape you..... there's a time they lie down with cadavers so Japanese would think they're dead
this really needs recognition
Sana ire-write ang Philippine history at isali ang ang mga importanteng mga information gaya nito hindi yong mga di totoo at mga walang kwenta.
Sana nga. Para hindi lang si Melchora Aquino ang kilala ng mga batang pinoy.

The Hukbalahap, or Hukbong Laban sa Hapon, was a communist guerrilla movement formed by the peasant farmers of Central Luzon

I have a 1917 application form of guerilla philippines
Do history about Moro warriors of world war 2.
Aquino started to change the history books since 1986 which is the worst part of Philippine history..
Marcos Apologist, STFU
Of course Aquino is bad, but the worst part is literally in Marcos term, wag lang mag basa basa sa mga Facebook threads, research research rin, pailang cancer.
Ukraine women are likewise defending their country …
Hey my lolo is a fighter
I thought it's only captain Fernandez
Felipa Culala is my auntie
That's amazing! ♥️♥️♥️
sya lng po kc ang isangbabae na kinilala ng mga kano na lider ng guerilla. 🙄
They were very courageous if the Japanese caught them they would be treated with barbarity …
Soooo, do you talk about how you were colonized by the spanish and this is why your original language turned into a "patwah"? Tagalog is a bastardized version of Aboriginal philipino (whatever it's called, I can't remember off memory) and castellano (spanish).
Our society was matriarchal anyway. This nothing new
6footer lady.
...and there's a lot of Macabebes in Pampanga too.. Lol! Peace out!!
Ano yun? Philippines History tapos engles ginagamit na lingguwahe
Para maintindihan din ng mga taga ibang bansa. Ingles ang lengguwahe na naiintindihan ng maraming bansa.
Typical kapangpangan. You need to pull someone down to rise yourself. Why not just go straight to your story.
Wow! Breaking gender roles…yawn.
