- Its not everyday you get a chance to roll with a legened like Eddie Bravo, but I did! I had an absolute blast. he was nothing but nice and respectful and even took some time to have a conversation after class and just bull shit around. A big thank you to Eddie for welcoming me to his Gym.

Kyle Kublalsingh it was a dream come true. The best part of this was actually experiencing his half guard. I knew it was good but being IN IT made me realize the whole other level he was on.
I've modeled my half guard after Eddie. I'm obviously nowhere near his level, but for me it took me to a whole new height. Dudes (at my level) dont wanna go anywhere near my half guard.

Eddie is so relaxed. at 3:06 he goes for a cable grip but grabs his fingers and I guess his hand was to outstretched so it looked like he hurt himself. So he gets the lockdown and stretches him out to prevent a pass. while checking his fingers. #Legend
Wow! The sweep at 4:03 was so efficient and smooth and looked like he put no effort into it. Eddie is a legend!
Lockdown is very efficient.
That has been my go-to sweep from half guard for YEARS now. It's so easy to pull off and it's impossible to defend unless they block the lockdown immediately. But even then you can usually wiggle you're way back into it because most people don't actively defend it.
And if they defend the sweep there's a tricky knee bar you can do from there instead, but I have a hard time getting it in no gi.

Looks like a good roll, I think you handled yourself well. Eddie just looks like he's got such a sneaky way of getting into the positions he wants. It looks like you'd know you were in trouble, but knowing it and stopping it would be two totally different things.

This was fun to watch. I'd have to roll with Eddie Bravo to experience it, but from what I see he looks patient. Something I'm not used to seeing aside from Jeff Monson. It would be funny to watch Eddie Bravo vs. Jeff Monson, because both of em' are so patient but on opposite terms, one prefers top game and the other is more of a bottom game person. Who would win? Jeff has the weight advantage while Eddie has the flexibility advantage... Damn it would be a good match.

So incredibly efficient. He can give up a ton of weight and still make it look easy

+prieto21 Over 20 years of wrestling/grappling experience. He wasn't going very hard, this was just more training. I had grappled 3 other people by time I rolled with Eddie. So i didn't have much left in the tank. Even if i was 100% Eddie would still easily beat me because he has dedicated his life to this sport.
