- Danny sits down with Emil Wagner, Scott Barnes and Ryan Sheffield to discuss what many anglers are voicing concern over, the state of bass fishing tournaments on local reservoirs.
That’s interesting to hear his perspective on guiding! The guides I know spend off days or weekends finding fish for their next guide trips. Many clubs don’t let guides fish tournaments, the advantage is beyond a simple explanation.
Not all the fish you see will bite. I learned that when the aqua view cameras first came out.
Emil obviously just gets it - in addition to being a stick he’s very intelligent and mature for his age. Happy to see him opting for the opens this year and look forward to seeing him in the elites!

I would be interested to know how much money the tournament directors are making off these events.
I can tell you Scott keeps 10% and all that goes back into permits and supplies for following year. Not sure about other trails.

Randy Blakey said the tournaments ruin fisheries a lot. Hopefully less and less people are going to fish them, hope for economy collapse or $15 gas.
