They don’t have to open the gates of hell for spiritual entities to crossover our habitation.
Jude 1:6
“And the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great day”
So these ⬆️ particular angels are on lock down but they can cross over without our help. They have free will and the capacity to rebel.
I would not expect them to be successful for the most part because of the “everlasting chains of eternal darkness reference and scripture is certainly a dealbreaker for that. But that does not mean that humans are not still trying to open the door.
