A horrific pre show ‘preparing you for marmalisation then the doors suddenly swing open revealing the train underneath the blinding surgical lights like an operating theatre.... that would be amazing :0
great video! the kids talking through the preshow were pretty annoying, but i guess they were just excited, i rode this coaster and it was amazing! the singing of the White Ladys is much more beautiful in person.
I've been living in Amsterdam for a year and have finally gotten to experience this. I went on it yesterday with friends, and I was regretting it as I sat down. Then I had a near heart attack when it held us over the edge, I swear there are no visible tracks when it holds you at that angle. Then five seconds later it dropped, I screamed like I have never have before as it plunged into the darkness below. Long story short, I loved it and I can't wait to do it again :D

update: disney world's haunted mansion doesn't actually go under the track since it is farther away than disneyland's haunted mansion which means it is actually stretching up and now going down
I just realised the storytelling aspect of that final moment before you start the ascend up the hill: the White Ladies (ghosts) open the boiler room lid and disappear inside, singing that they will sabotage the ride. Brilliant! I've been on this ride and didn't even realise. That's also a showcase of Efteling's dedication to storytelling and theming: the pre-show basically holds up the line. They could increase capacity by removing it, but that would cheapen the ride.
The que line and the decorations are soo beutiful beutifuller than the ride Edit 3 yrs later: Damn my english was trash. Lemme retype The queue is much better than the ride itself thats what its focused on
I rode Baron yesterday for the first time. Fantastic theme and awesome ride. The first drop was unexpected intense and the zero-g-roll was amazing. Awesome ride but the waiting time of 100min is long. :-)
I was there at the day it opened. Waited for a whopping 2,5 hours in the burning sun. Even had to jump out of the queue to get help for some boy who fainted... :')
Thanks for this amazing video. I already knew what the actual ride looked like, but I couldn't find a video of the pre-show anywhere. But you helped me out there, and boy that pre-show looks darn awesome... Just like the ride.
Preshows ranked (my opinion): 1. The Changing room (This is why this is the best Dive Coaster it gives you a creepy mine feel and I get scared for the ride every time in there.) 2. The Salary Room (I love the anamatronic of Gustav Hoogmoed how he pumps you up when you waiting for the green light. Love the sound of them, it makes you more nervous.) 3. The Boilerworks (I love this one too, but I think it's the worst, because I think the projection is not that good compaired to the 1st preshow, it's a cool blockbrake ngl.) Btw I have to mention the music, sound effects and the old Dutch that is spoken by the Baron. It makes the ride so much better!
Its a really good ride!! at first i thought this is a typical dutch cheap coaster because of the lenght of the track. But man, its short but so sweet! really breathtaking ride! and the detailing plus story telling... high level!
i was in florida in bush gardens last year. and visit the sheikra, it was awesome. 60 meters fall en 110 km a hour. so i was checking the baron last thursday, and thought its a peanut ride if you compare it with sheikra. but i was surprised. the fall was awesome! very nice coaster. hope in the future the build more thrill rides. very comfortable seats etc.
I love when people are happy at the Efteling i live in Brabant (The place where Efteling is) i hear from other country's that they LOVE the Efteling and im happy to hear that!!! Love from Brabant and me!!❤❤

Toen we eindelijk stil stonden, heb ik mijn moeder uitgescholden omdat ik het echt niet leuk vond. De mensen die voor ons zaten, waren de hele tijd naar ons te lachen. Ik denk wel dat ik er nog eens in ga..... ooit.
after 10 years we were finally able to go again last september. i got the money due to me getting welfare for being young and unable to work.. my brother and I went.on the baron and we got lucky enough to be placed at the front seat. i was stressed, and my brother was extremely amused. but after we rode it i thought it was amazing. now its a verry dear memory to me. looking at a fullexperience video gives me warm feelngs.
Just enjoyed this ride for the first time last week and it didnt dissapoint. Ride itself is short but sweet and the building up of the tension in the preshows is well worth it. Also queuelines seem much shorter now obvioulsy since its no longer the "new thing" (thats Symbolica now) so I can really recommend it, especially with the single rider queue (which you totally can join if you are with more people, you might get split up tho and you cant choose which row your gonna end up, but if thats not a problem and you just dont like to wait, go for it)
ride looks amazing. I wish they would've themed valravn at cedar point up like this. I see they have the annoying teenagers groping each other in the lines over there too (2:16).

The queue is very well themed with many effects & tells a story. The actually ride however is unthemed, lacks effects, is extremely short & completely distracts from the story & atmosphere that the queue & preshow set up. The queue is more exciting than the ride which is disappointing.
@@TheBaldr Setting a dive coaster indoors would be a CRAZY expensive venture, one that would make even Disney gawk at the pricetag. Considering this isn't even Disney's mountainous wealth, this is a damn good themed rollercoaster. And it's still a dive coaster, you'll have a blast on the ride itself mate.

Don't look at the head of the ghost but watch below the white ghost on the left at 3.39. You can see the wall crumble. That looks so real when you're standing there. It's amazing!!!!

I like how they hold you once they have you loaded on the coaster train before you ascend the lift-hill. Shawn... did you get to shoot this video? Am I the only one who was expecting significantly more theming due to the hype? It still has crazy amounts of theming but I feel like dueling dragons when it was still called dueling dragons, and the spectacular adventures of spiderman have more theming.

De director heeft gezegd dat ze het expres zo kort hebben gemaakt. Je gaat erin voor de drop, niet per se voor de achtbaan want als je loopings wilt ga je wel naar de Python. Dus vonden ze het wat onnodig om grond en geld te verspillen door de ride onnodig te laten aanslepen. Snap je wat ik bedoel?
I went too and let me tell you, it is really impressive. Do come and go on this ride cuz it's amazing. The story around it is marvellous and I loved the 90 degrees drop.
at the drop, the underground part of the ride ussually has smoke in it to represent the white/wailing women it makes the underground bit a lot more exciting

It's based on a local legend called the 'White Witches' (literally translated as white whails/women), ghostly supernatural beings that appear in fog. The ride is about a greedy baron who opens a gold mine and recruits us visitors as miners.. The white Witches' warn the visitors not to decent into the mine, as they protect the gold.
In the changing room, before the ride: "Do not go further but go homeward. We, Wailing Women, watch over the gold. You have been warned." During the ride: "You had been warned, disobedients. We, Wailing Women, watch over the gold. And sabotaged your descent. Pride comes before the fall!"

I've been to efteling and I went on this ride it was scary but fun!
This park has some of the most impressive theming I've seen. The ride bit could be better, but they do strive for a quality atmosphere.

there aren't fast passes in the efteling. so you just have to go through the que anyways

Ive been here today. The ride was absolutely amazing! and the strike of fear you get when you hang above the drop is absolutely crazy but amazing!

I went on this and I nearly passed out lol. I was a lot shorter last year when I went so during the drop it felt like I was just flying off haha

After the outdoor drop from the lift hill, the rest should have been an indoor coaster, but it seems the budget was cut for that part.

It's a pretty cool coaster. I have been in it like 9 times! It never gets bored😂
If this was the full experience, the video had to be 70/80 minutes long because the line to get there is always way too long

I agree. There are notable exceptions like Saw and Smiler, but mostly the theming on big UK coasters is pretty lacking.

I went on the baron before and it was the end of my life when I saw the loops
Don't look at the head of the ghost but watch below the white ghost on the left at 3.39. You can see the wall crumble. That looks so real when you're standing there. It's amazing!!!!

WOW... is all i have to say!! TOTAL themeing with awesome design.... great pre-board and timing on-ride! I like how they hold you once they have you loaded on the coaster train before you ascend the lift-hill. Shawn... did you get to shoot this video? I bet this ride helped inspire some of your new coaster creations on your computer coaster design software!! Excellent editing. Excellent perspectives. Excellent theme. Almost reminds me of a Disney themed attraction. My only gripe is that the actual ride is too short. Two drops would have been superb. However I give this two thumbs up. 👍🏾👍🏾

leuk weetje die kluizen op 6:37 moeten nu ovens voorstellen maar vroeger zat hier op de plek van de baron een zwembad en tijdens het graven van de achtbaan zijn die verwarmings ovens om het zwembad warm te houden gevonden

Am I the only one who was expecting significantly more theming due to the hype? It still has crazy amounts of theming but I feel like dueling dragons when it was still called dueling dragons, and the spectacular adventures of spiderman have more theming.

+yugioh guy Did you visit the Efteling and ride this coaster? Because this coaster has a lot of small details, which makes it special. Also the video doesn't do the ride justice, the atmosphere of this coaster is really something special.
XxCoolie99xX no but looking hard enough at a video of the queue I'd be able to spot the little details. And again the amazing spiderman dark ride probably has more theming.
+yugioh guy True, but that's a dark ride and this is a coaster, dark rides are always more themed. The amazing spiderman looks amazing though (pun not intended).
The worst thing about this ride is the throughput. For a park this size, it's awful.

Mooie sfeer en mooie attractie. Alleen jammer dat je maar ongeveer 25 seconden aan 't rollen bent..

Maar het verhaal en de wachtrij horen ook wel bij de atractie. Als die dingen er niet waren was de achtbaan pas echt "kort"
Ik vind de rit niet kort je hebt een dove coaster die oblivion heet in alton towers die maar 10 sec duurt ofzo
Ik vind de drop juist zwak zeker als je het met sheikra en yukon striker vergelijkt wel
De director heeft gezegd dat ze het expres zo kort hebben gemaakt. Je gaat erin voor de drop, niet per se voor de achtbaan want als je loopings wilt ga je wel naar de Python. Dus vonden ze het wat onnodig om grond en geld te verspillen door de ride onnodig te laten aanslepen.

I went too and let me tell you, it is really impressive. Do come and go on this ride cuz it's amazing. The story around it is marvellous and I loved the 90 degrees drop.

It's the Gardaland's Oblivion brother.. but Baron has a very quality theming
at the drop, the underground part of the ride ussually has smoke in it to represent the white/wailing women it makes the underground bit a lot more exciting
Nice ride but they really do need to make the track longer.. maybe in the future...

Its pretty much just ghosts of a mine or something, warning you and all. I couldnt hear much of it cause people like yelling and whatever. I was there yesterday
It's based on a local legend called the 'White Witches' (literally translated as white whails/women), ghostly supernatural beings that appear in fog. The ride is about a greedy baron who opens a gold mine and recruits us visitors as miners.. The white Witches' warn the visitors not to decent into the mine, as they protect the gold.
In the changing room, before the ride:
"Do not go further but go homeward. We, Wailing Women, watch over the gold.
You have been warned."
During the ride:
"You had been warned, disobedients. We, Wailing Women, watch over the gold. And sabotaged your descent.
Pride comes before the fall!"

Het boek baron 1889 is super leuk ik raad het ook zeker aan ik ga zelfs mijn boekpresentatie erover houden
Zo onride vind ik m er minder eng uitzien dan dat je er naar kijkt vanaf de grond, misschien toch maar eens proberen deze 🤔

Het is mijn favoriete attractie en het wachten duurt wel lang in vergelijking met de achtbaan ,maar ik vind het zeker waard ! 😍En als je het niet zo leuk vind,het is al bijna in 3 minuten gedaan ❤️
@@anna-ug6jv ja ik ben laatst geweest, eerste keer 20 minuutjes wachten voor eerste rij en de 2de keer maar 5 minuten, vond m zeker leuk, maar vooral heel mooi!

leuke video maar 1 jammer dat die kinderen er door heen praten bij show 1 en dat de mist bij de drop het niet doet
