It was only during mid December parents started rushing to get the popular toys. When Tickle Me Elmo was out, they had a lot of them in stores. I ended buying two, one for my nephew and one for my niece when they were around 2 years old. When mid December came around, the adults were frantic, even fighting over the dolls

As a pre-school teacher in the mid-80s, I had to have one of those Teddy Ruxpins. I still have him along w/ Grubby, various outfits, books and cassettes, and accessories like the Answer Box and the Picture Show machine.
When I was little my parents literally went to 4 different cities to find me a tickle me elmo for Xmas when I was a toddler, it was Christmas season so they were extremely hard to find around that time. :')

For me growing up (2002 baby here) i got alot of Barbies, Coloring books, the Barbie DVDs, but the main gift i wanted when i was a kid was the Disney Princess Kitchen Set that looked like a castle, and like the spoiled brat i was, i ended up getting it, i was the happiest person ever
My mom when she was a kid wanted a cabbage patch doll and her older sister (my aunt) looked everyone for one and searched every single store just to find her one. She ended up finding one for her tho.
