Testing of a large Type IV composite tube via Modal Acoustic Emission (MAE)

This video shows the post accident testing of a large type IV composite tube used for natural gas transportation. This video outlines how Modal Acoustic Emission (MAE) is used to identify structural health of the tube's fiber and matrix. This technology is available for inspecting tubes that have been in accidents and soon to be applicable to requalifying tubes at the 5 year point.
