"Does this sound like Eno to you?" from "Soliloquies. Neons. Nonsense."
"I played an ambient set in early January ‘24, where my duo promoted the second half of the set to be Eno-ian (mind the “-ian”). However, an acquaintance of ours came to watch and commented that the set did not sound like Eno at all. As we promoted the set with the “-ian”, our intention was not to become a Fripp-Eno cover duo but rather a duo of artists that draw inspiration from Eno’s aesthetics.
This track’s sonic materials take inspiration from that set, and the visuals are nothing like Eno's. Yes, this is the page of SKYKYS’s work, not Brian Eno’s."
“Soliloquies. Neons. Nonsense.” (2024) is an audiovisual concept album by SKYKYS. The concept of this album is for the artist to reflect on one year of electronic music and express oneself to be as “meta” as possible through multiple art mediums. This album is focused on dialogue-like storytelling in an interactive diary setting, so be sure to view the video while listening!
In this sonic-and-pixel-based dialogue, the artist aims to convey opinions about multiple issues and troubles we face as a human, and also discuss the present state of electronic music.
Due to the artist viewing sonic and visual arts as the best way to express himself, he aims to cut the formalities (a.k.a. crap) away from art music appreciation and get straight to the chase.
GLHF listening, watching, and feeling this little audiovisual diary!
