NaavadaQ yes exactly, Fuheng was Wei Lingluo’s first idealistic young love, the moment he married Erqing that was shattered, she then fell in love with the Emperor later. For me their relationship dynamic was the best & most interesting to watch in the whole series. I always thought she’d run circles around Fuheng if they ended up together whereas the Emperor matched her intellectually & emotionally. I think it’s mostly teenage girls that prefer Fuheng because he looks more like a little boy looks wise, it’s classic, it’s the same reason they like pretty boy bands, very non threatening.
bellabana I definitely agree with you. However, I don’t think she would’ve run circles him. I believe she would’ve live a very peaceful life. Which is what the late Empress wanted for her. I do believe that even though her life would’ve been less dramatic, she would’ve been extremely happy and content but just in a different way. Let’s not forget that Wei Yinglou is very resourceful and resolute in the choices she makes. If she chose Fuheng, she would’ve made sure that she’s happy. Just like how she has done the same with the Emperor. Happiness is choice. 💛
I ship both male characters. They both bring up a different side to Wei Yinglou. Both sides equally satisfying to me as a viewer.

Rina Sitorus I agree, Wei Yingluo is an honest woman. She has her morals and way of doing things. It’s why the emperor loves her. She’s not gaining his favor for one reason or another. She was at first but afterwards, Wei Yingluo was true to him.
Never in her plans has Wei Yingluo done anything just because, so when she was romancing the emperor, she was giving him the chance to know her and vise versa.
So, Wei Yingluo and the emperor’s romance is more natural. She behaves as his wife, not his concubine. And he gets to be a normal husband with her. You can tell by how they act near the end of the series. With them sleeping in the same bed, when it is not proper to share the bed of the emperor when not sleeping with him, it shows how special she is to him.

He gets to feel like himself, not as emperor, but as Hongli, a husband and a father to all their children, even Yongqi, YingLuo’s adopted son from Lady Yu. This is my opinion, of course, feel free to debate with me on this below.
