All In was so ahead of time its such a masterpiece especially the MV that points out the injustices in the world and how we need to fight them, and was posted on the national day against homophobia and also tells a story of a gay relationship,drugs,abuse, losing someone close, suicide at the same time its has an unique storyline and i remember thinking this was something that hasn’t been done especially in Kpop and it was so refreshing to see something different.
Also i just realized they used to do sweet songs like this with cute lyrics but now all their lyrics are just +🔞 lol and the fact that they write those songs 😳
Before I start watching this video, I just want to say something I forgot to comment on yesterday’s posts, don’t worry too much if you don’t end up loving the group, I know there can be a lot of pressure on react channels from all these fandoms to like the artists they react to, but monbebes are very understanding. Monsta X is a group that you either vibe with or you don’t. Not liking them doesn’t say anything negative about their work and it doesn’t say anything negative about your taste either. It’s just preference and it should be respected. Anyways, I’m gonna go watch the video now! 🖤
yea i didnt even mind when he didnt continue watching mx because they didnt hit him up with the music at that time so even after this and he still didnt enjoy them, its good to drop them i guess
I'm surprised you enjoyed their (noisier) earlier music! But actually not that surprised because MX do noise SO WELL, they really pioneered the sound and influenced 4th gen!
But this just goes to prove you will only be even more impressed from here on out ;) their first 2 albums are FULL of GORGEOUS r&b tracks, and so are their last few albums. I hope one day you can pick a couple albums and do a listen! I know you said you don't like lives, but maybe a listening party live? where we just vibe to MX together?

That’s the things about Monsta x they’re title track are most of the time edm but not they’re bside so people who only listen to their title track and say that’s not their style will miss something so I’m happy you give them a chance 🤗

You are correct! Poor Wonho was terrified. I think I read that they gave him anti-anxiety medication to help him cope.
monsta x is one of my ult groups so its nice to see you enjoy thier early noise songs too!! if you didnt know they have a song called "breathe for you" thats really cute and an absolute bop. also check out thier other special clips!

I‘m excited for Monsta X week! I was here for when you got into Seventeen too and it was so nice to always wake up to a new video from the series.
I love Monsta X (also great variety content, they are so sweet and funny) and am happy to get to see them live in May
Title tracks are more hyped edm hiphop vibes but the b side tracks are what gonna captivate you more

Wonho made his debut with just his "Aura" and visuals, and naturally at the beginning of his debut, he lacked singing skills, so he had really few parts. But he grew up to produce their album, be confident as the team's center, and perform high-quality high-pitched parts before his withdrawal. I appreciate his career.
So i'll try to explain all in from what i remember reading at the time, basically is about a dystopian future where people are really conservative and that man who gave hyungwon a slap is supposed to be his father who doesn't approve his relationship with minhyuk (not gonna make any supposition about what type of relationship it is), one day he beats him really bad so minhyuk get angry and joins the other boys to burn what i believe is a church for revenge, but when he comes back he finds out hyungwon has drowned in the bathtub, then he pours that essence they get from that purple flower and he comes back to life. There's a storyline for the other boys too but i can't remember really well, but i know they're part of some kind of cult and that the flower is really important to the story.

"stuck" is really such a great song and music video. it's always a video I think of when it comes to Monsta X. I think it was one I watched really early on when I was getting into Kpop before I even really knew who they were

Also the full english album 'all about luv' and 'The Dreaming' are BOPS toooooo! I would say other than the english albums, my favorite album would be 'fatal love' and 'one of a kind' hope you react to them aswell🥺🥺🥺

I really enjoy your reactions, but our music taste is always opposite 😂 Stuck is one of my all time favorite Monsta X songs! But you should really react to some of their b-sides, they made special MVs for those too and some of them are really sweet and soft 🥰 (f.e. „AMEN“, 백설탕 Special Clip “Sweetheart”, 반칙이야 Self-cam ver. “Unfair Love”)
MONSTA X U.R. live performance in Hidden track 2 is amazing. It would be great if you can react to that one. Minhyuk is the guy that looks like Jack Frost in the last video.

Hero is the first song from Monsta x that I listened to every day without knowing anything about these amazing men.
The clan has 3 parts and All in is part 1, Fighter part 2 and Beautiful part 3. And the way i take the plotline may be different but lemme tell u what i think about it.
In All In, there are two things that are happening. Firstly, it starts with the boys confronting the men with guns and hyungwon handing the purple flower(it has some meaning but i dont remember it atm, may be eternal sth like that) to one of the soldiers. I believe the boys are a group fighting against those oppressing armed forces for homosexual rights(?) or may be a cult because you can see the members doing some crazy shit with the purple flower and being high lol And hyungwon being the son of the leader of the armed group and having some kind of relationship with minhyuk, hyungwon was slapped by the old man. One day, hyungwon was beaten up to pulp and minhyuk found out about it. Thats why he went out to burn the armed forces buliding down with his friends, wonho and kihyun, may be changkyun too. When he went back to hyungwon after burning down, he was too late and found hyungwon drowned in the bathtub(suicide may be). Eventually, he poured the purple flower juice into the bathtub and he also stayed in the bathtub to die together with hyungwon but somehow with the power from the flower, they both came back alive. The second part that is happening is shownu having to find money for his dying family member where joohoney brought a gun illegally to him and shownu went to rob the bank. However when he came back with the money, the person was alrdy dead. In the end, they all were running away from the armed forces and in the way, they found something strange up in the sky and that's how Fighter came. I believe they went in that bubbly purple thing and Fighter happens in that space.
PS there is also time traveling plotline too. It starts with FIND YOU, DRAMARAMA, DESTROYER (the connect music film) and CONCERT VCR 2, Just in case u wanted to check the whole thing together.

Most of Monsta X's discography is really, really good. I get distracted by other groups so I forget occasionally but it's good that you're reminding me now. Stuck is a favorite. And every time I listen to Hero I have to stop what I'm doing to scream "Aah!" with Jooheon. Well, silently at least.
Minhyuk (pink hair in Stuck) is like Jeonghan in Svt, whenever I see him I can't help but go "he's so pretty!"
To appreciate Monsta X's dancing, I recommend the dance practices ... so you can understand the clock-like precision of the moves
I am so pleased you are enjoying Monsta X's earlier work and Shownu who has pretty much been my bias in the group since day 1 (Although I honestly love every member so having only 1 bias is pretty much impossible lol) .I think sometimes he gets overlooked because the other members are more outgoing but the rest of the guys adore him. 'Stuck' is still one of my favorite Monsta X songs and I wish they would perform it in concert live here in the US but they never have. The group's B sides are no joke and their English songs are some of the best done by Kpop groups IMO. I think you are going to love this week!

Thank you for giving them a chance. Their title tracks barely scratches the surface of what their music style is like. Their title tracks are most of the time are hard hitting which repesents their image as a group but it's the b-side that is gold mine. I hope you will also give it a try. I think you'll really like their English Albums. :) i'm surprised that you liked their earlier songs as those are a little bit on the heavier side. Will be looking forward to more videos. I hope you'd like them enough to stan. :) if not, no worries each to his/her own.
Thanks for reacting to MONSTA X. MONSTAX's old songs are so good and somehow I kinda miss their old songs too, but what I like about them is you can tell it's MONSTAX song even you just random listen to it and they keep improving their musicality without losing their identity. They have their own vibe. Also I learn the members name and faces so quickly only 4 minutes because they all have different charisma and persona. I hope you react more their live performance of their B-Side songs like "U R", "Sorry I'm Not Sorry", "Lost In The Dream", "RIde with U" (Lyrics Performance) also their english song like "Middle of The Night" and "Someone's Someone", those songs are more chill vibe and I think you will like it.
If anything, even after this week you decide that MX is not your style....at least you're giving them a fair chance so thank you for that.
So the ones you're reacting to are their title songs. Their softer B sides would be like Ex girl, Honestly, If Only, In Time, Crazy in Love, Sweetheart, From Zero...etc...there's alot lol. They made music videos for most of those as well, but you will find them listed as "Special clips or Self-cam"

Hero is a bside to rush (the actual title track) and the video for it was one of many bside special clips. But because it’s the video of theirs that has the highest views by far, I think people tend to get it mixed up with their title tracks/comebacks. It’s really interesting to me how this happened. When I got onto them (and eventually kpop in general) it wasn’t even at 15M views (everything else was lower than that because it was early 2017, I think before stream culture was as big as it is now). Glad you seem to be opening up to them a lil more despite being on the fence. Most people just look at one title track and walk away… there’s soooo much more to them they don’t get to

I am happy and excited because you do exactly what i do with groups i like, dive into the songs and see what i like of their songs. I always go to the beginning of the group.
I believe Eunseo or Exy from WJSN is the girl in Rush. Rush is very catchy. Hero, tied with Fighter for the song that made me a Monbebe. It’s in my top 3 title tracks with Shoot Out and Fighter.. I can never decided which of those is my favorite. All In, the beginning of the Clan storyline that I believe includes Fighter and Beautiful. All In and Stuck are also very good. I love the choreography for Hero, All In and Stuck. Silver hair Minhyuk will always have it out for me. Hero was probably the 3ed MV I watched.. Hero, Fighter or Dramarama.. I watched 5 or 6 MVs in a very short span when I was getting into them. I love Kihyun’s Stuck hairstyle. No one is ever ready for Joohoney. I would say Tresspass, Fighter, Shoot Out, Alligator, Love Killa, Gambler are more of their “aggressive” tracks. Most of the time I believe fierce, strong and eye catching is more on point with Monsta X.. My sweet boys that try to be bad boys.
Nice to continue this journey. From these songs I knew Hero (it's iconic) and All In. I love the video, it's like a movie and shows their acting skills. I just wish the song lyricwise could've been more connected to the topic of the video because it was really cool. Like you, I enjoy songs more when they're not love/relationship songs. I actually prefer more anthemic ones.
I'm not yet a conneisseur of everything Monsta X, but I understand that their beginning was hip hop and the lyrics of their songs were more of a boy "saves/wants" girl style. I see some similarities with early BTS songs. I guess it was the trend at the time.
I agree with everything you say about the "damsel in distress" theme. I don't think any of these song lyrics were ill-intentioned at all, but they do feel dated to me. I like all these songs, mind you, but they probably made more sense back then, before society outgrew this topic. The guys also matured a lot and are now men with a more complex approach to the world and relationships

All In is the gay anthem. Minhyuk and Hyungwon are thought to be together, Hyungwons dad is the one who beats him up (presumably for being gay) so minhyuk and the boys set the fire to frame hyungwons dad. The scene of the two of them in the bath tub is iconic.
I recommend you react to: Beautiful ,Jelousy and Follow, I'm sure you would love the songs. Also all their english songs are amazing and I think you would like it :)
at first i also didnt feel the lyrics of Hero but then i just told myself maybe it's about the man offering his whole self to the "princess" and it's way sweeter that way lmao XD like u said maybe it's just referencing video games
also the lyrics of "All in" is basically just mx saying they go "all in" for the person they like. the MV is just like their own individual struggles and shows them going in all with how they solve it (so they may not be entirely connected - and this is notable in almost all their MVs where the concept isn't entirely connected with the lyrics)

fun fact i used to actually be a hardcore monbebe for years back when mx were ot7 (along with exo ofc ✨) mx for sure are a talented group with lots of personality gives me a lot of nostalgia watching ur reaction :') they're tt are a bit more on the hiphop side but they got some non hiphop ones that are so good plus their bsides are bangers as well personally i don't vibe as much with their new music but they got some vocals as well! versace on the floor live cover is a must~ but regardless if you do or don't stan them after this week will be here to watch your mx journey as far as it goes :)
