If you want to see how far these ice cream examples can take you, watch why I decluttered 88% of my wardrobe next: czcams.com/video/5e4jMzhVUwM/video.html 😉❤

I love the ice cream analogy too. And I often think that it’s not just about having too many or too few clothes but it’s also about what we have can be mixed and matched. I’ve never had lots of clothes but until 6 years ago when I first started a capsule wardrobe I felt like I had too many but not enough at the same time as I used to buy just what I liked or was on a sale without thinking whether what I had bought actually went well with the items I already had. Thanks for this video. It is very helpful, I think.

Yes, you're absolutely right! It's not just about the quantity but also about what we like and what we can combine well together 😊 Also, sometimes we may feel we have a lot of stuff because we have a lot of duplicates or items we don't actually enjoy, but once we declutter them we truly see what we have and what we can work with 😉 Thank you for sharing and I'm glad you found this video thought-provoking 😘❤️

I live in a 4 season climate and create a different capsule wardrobe about every 3 month by shopping my closet. Before I put an item in storage I evaluate it to see if it still fits and is in good condition, if not it goes. This works pretty well and I don't get bored with my outfits.

Your ice cream analogy is really helpful. I can see how I have too many flavors in some categories and a lack of flavors in others. Thanks for this great video :D

Yay, I'm super glad it was helpful! 😊 And yes having too much in some areas and then too little in others is something that happened to me as well, it's just part of the journey, hehe 😉 Thank you for sharing! 😘❤️

Balance is beautiful! Just came here to comment that at different seasons of my life, I have needed more or less variety to feel good about the options. For example, currently my children are small, and I am already juggling so many details as I prepare food and care for their needs that picking out a cute outfit is not even joyful, but can sometimes feel like a nuisance. I might need a greater number of T-shirts because my babies make messes on me, but I will not need a greater variety. Two or three different colors is all I need, and everything coordinates. Before babies, I had more mental capacity to think about fashion choices, and it was also a greater expectation in my corporate job. I still tried to keep my favorite colors and the same neutrals so that everything could mix and match, but I had a much greater variety and colors, prints, and Styles. What feels excessive in one season can feel just right in another.

Today I went to the cleaners to pick up a white button up and they couldn’t find it initially. I literally thought of everything in my closet and was sure it was at the cleaners. I only have about 10 shirts, so I can keep track of them all. Come to think of it, I have about 10 pairs of bottoms, 10 pairs of shoes, and about 10 jackets/sweaters, etc.

Good video! I prefer a capsule wardrobe and right now I know I have bought a few too many things online since Covid. Need to go through my closet again and learn the online shopping lessons. Less is definitely more and it makes me feel so much better. Lol

Thank you! 😊 And yes, capsule wardrobes are the best, hehe 😉 But I completely understand - I also noticed that when the stores opened after the restrictions lift, I got a weird combination of excitement (because they're open) and fear (because I don't know when they'll close again), so it clouded my judgement a couple of times, but now that I'm aware of it, it doesn't faze me anymore. So well done for being aware, this is always the first step when we want to change anything 😘💁‍♀️ Thank you so much for sharing, I'm sending you loads of love, and I'm wishing you a great closet decluttering session! ❤️
