When Doffy showed his awakening he places his palm on the ground and it changed into strings similarly when crocodile placed his palm on the ground it turned into sand and crocodile also said he had mastery over his devil fruit. Crocodile awakening Confirmed?

Yeah it's a bid annoying that poisons have a corrosive effect on non organic material like iron too.
But then again it is a world where people can become elements and animals by eating fruits so we can't expect it to conform to our logic 100%
Remember that rubber can also be in a liquid form so maybe his awakening is that he can make himself become a logia

I think Luffy's Awakening will actually be something simpler than merging with nature. I believe Luffy's awakening will merge with the inner 'beast' in him. See, though the entire show, when Luffy trains, it's normally against beast. Also, his gears hint towards that as well. In gear 2, he moves as fast as a leopard, in gear 3 he's a giant, gear 4 he's like a crazy man-ape. I believe his awakening will be a combination of the strongest beast of the seven seas; their speed, their power, their tenacity, etc. Furthermore, I believe Luffy's awakening will also come with a crazy sick healing ability. Since his body is rubber, it would make sense that when awakened, his body will become so rubbery that physical attacks would no longer hurt him, and he will gain either a rapid heal ability like a snake or a body that simply can't be hurt like a mythical dragon. Combined with his haki, that would make Luffy incredibly strong and hard as heck to beat.
Jeron Bradford this is my fave awakening comment. what if together with tht what if his body has static electricity as well or like something close to one of the 4 elements ya kno like those lava/ magma is a product of heat and other things maybe his body will becoming rubbery to the point where it becomes an element or element by product combining speed, technique and massive strength along with regenerative properties sounds goods doesnt it? 😊

Even though Chopper is an animal already, the devil fruit awakenings are awakened based in the devil fruit itself. Which in this case, the human human fruit.
But he never quite looked like a real person with this
"human human fruit" to begin with. Even Chopper's ultimate form is not quite correct to his original animal form (Reindeer)

Nah bro, it's gonna be environment manipulation BUT I think Luffy will use it differently. He will make his OPPONENTS body rubberized. Basically he will bend and stretch his opponents to catch them off guard and create openings. Also making a wall like rubber so he can effectively volley someone against a wall for multiple hits. Imagine a Red Hawk Gatling, repeated strikes with the enemy bouncing off the wall and coming full speed into another Red Hawk. Environment manipulation would cause so many footing problems for unprepared opponents and so many opportunities for Luffy!
Imagine someone throwing a punch and it stretching like Luffy's pistol and them trying to learn how to use a Devil Fruit power like Luffy's mid fight!
I agree. when I saw the title of this video I imagined the merry under warship fire (ik its the sunny now its just I imagined the merry) and luffy making a dumb face and the cannonballs hitting the deck and bouncing and luffy just lobbing them back in cannonball form
He didn't stop the rain with his df he stopped it with that anti-rain powder.
But that doesn't make sense, because as Mac said, it came back the instant that he was defeated. And besides which, what does the powder do? It forces it to rain in one area so much that it dries out all the clouds and prevents rain in other areas...so where was Crocodile making it rain? And if he was making rain somewhere else, then why wouldn't someone mention it or try to go and make a new settlement in that area.
No, the point of the powder wasn't that Crocodile WAS using it, but that the King, Cobra Nefeltari, was NOT using it. He refused to, which is why his people were revolting against him.
Actually, he was making it rain at the capital.
I think he was using his awakening so he could make the whole island in drought except for the capital, making it seem like the King was using the dance powder.

Its already pretty evident that luffy is a genius in a fight. He analyzes his opponents fighting power and weaknesses and adapts his own fighting style to better counter his enemy.

Wile Luffy is based off of Son Goku, Son Goku isn't the monkey king. That title goes to the character that Goku himself is based on. Son Wukong the main protagonist in the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West

+Legendmac, as he has siblings that are logia eaters (one former, one current) of the same logia (the mera mera no mi), i feel his awakening could be a rubber logia type awakening.
He is a logia in a specific area even though the DF is a paramecia, the specific logia area is the immunity to blunt force attacks, rubber is an element, it depends on what type of rubber he is which would determine a logia state he could be.
If he is natural he could have the intangibility afforded to natural logia, if he is synthetic than he won't be able to disperse or phase into or out of attacks where he could than be hit.
Two things about Crocodile:
1. He draws "water" from objects and dries them out. This could be a form of awakening for him (possibly).
2. Going on the Haki theory, Croc could have been using his Haki to rebound rain in areas, in collaboration with the Dance Powder to make the land dry. He may have been worried if he fought Luffy with Haki, rain would come and cause him to get wet creating his own potential weakness.

I really believe his awakening is going to work alongside gear 4 not going to replace it, I would love something that provides him some tactical advantage like turning the ground where his oponents stand into rubber ect. That will make luffy much more than someone that simply punches, and raise him to yonko level

luffys awakening, or part of it might be infinite elasticity.someone else mentioned luffy could be able to stretch/compress(yes his body can also compress) space and time.sounds dope, because from a scientific standpoint if you where able to deform spacetime, you could travel great distances in a blink of an eye and you could travel through time as well.also compressing huge mass on a small point creates something called black hole.
My theory, luffy's awakened power will be the ability to reject Devil Fruits. Like Blackbeard has the ability to draw in devil fruits Luffy's could be the opposite. I also think Blackbeards awakened devil fruit gives him the ability to draw in and USE other devil fruits. At least that would give him the ability to actually go toe to toe with blackbeard
yea actually, he seemed to be extremely weak at basic fighting. He relies 100% on Devil fruit ability
I hope devil fruit awakenings don't become a common staple. I want it to really mean something when we see a new awakening.
You can clearly see that only the strongest characters have awaken their devil fruits, so thats not something to worry about
jz Fish Only the strongest people survive in the new world, so its understandble that they all learn haki one way or another, but not everyone has a devil fruit, not everyone knows how to properly use their devil fruit, awakening is super difficult
it would be cool if all devil fruit users can unlock a way to communicate to old users of that fruit like talking to the dead

it actually is the environment around u that changes. luffys awakening will be exactly the same as do flamingo except it will be rubber around him. he'll prolly be able to bounce ppl towards him while he punches them. prolly even be able to walk on water with the water changing to rubber as he walks on it. its the only thing that makes sense.
Luffys desire to save everyone could lead to his awakening being that he will turn everyone and or everything around him into rubber

I think crocodile already has his awakening. To me awakenings for Logias allow them to change their surroundings into their powers like ice magma strings and sand

Im not denying that Crokodile having knowledge of awakening could mean he had achieved it him self, but seeing as one of the clear abilities of his sand powers were to drain water from anything even people, it seem more reasonable that he is a logia that constantly used some of his power to have sand in high altitudes that drained any water vapor.
That would also make it more reasonable that Luffy was able to beat him with pre gear's power and not able to beat Doflamego without using his new gear.
at the end of the alabasta arc marine officers found a baroques works ship with dance powder it was just coincidental that crocodile was defeated at the same time that the dance powder effects wore off in alabasta
im not gonna lie im really confused because a paramecia controls elements around them but luffy has never show the ability to control rubber so what if theres a plot twist and the gum gum fruit is actually a logia type
so in impel down, when luffy fought black beard, blackbeard said that luffys "haki" improved, even tho haki wasnt really that revalent at the time so I assume that crocodile and many other characters were aware of awakening and haki and was able to utlize it. for all we know, luffy prob had haki the entire time and it wasnt till now that we get the color coated to actually showcase it.

I think luffys awakeking will be like he will turn the whole island into rubber and use it as clones.
I think Luffy already has awakening and here's why. During the fight with doflamingo, luffy used gear 4th and when he used his serpent punch and when it would change direction it would BOUNCE off the air. So i think Luffy's awakening would be to give things around him rubber properties like air for an example.
Some possible things I think Luffy could do once awakened:
Stretch farther for one or add more rubber to his main body from the environment.
Replenish wounds by adding, absorbing rubber?
Use haki too reshape himself or the environment. Giant Luffy anvil, maybe that's hoping for too much.
With Luffy having an awakening I can't think of what it would be. Donflamingo could turn the environment into strings- so would Luffy be able to turn the environment into rubber? That sounds lame, and besides his devil fruit isn't controlling rubber, it's controlling his rubber body, but he's gonna have to have something like the awakening to defeat the Yonko.

Luffy awakening will definitely be another gear but I believed it's already hinted what his devil fruit is going to be. In the final round of moria vs luffy... Luffy told moria that no one would take him down cause he is made out of rubber. I think that elasticity will be his awakening making him pretty much immortal and impervious to tremendous amounts of attacks

different from stealing abilities... Whats rubber have in common with
Fire Electricity and A Spring? The Fact that Using a Piece of rubber to spring or bounce back has been done, Rubber can generate Heat leading to fire. And rubber ultimately resists Electricity, During each of his Gears he always explained how he had to think outside the box to become stronger. after being all over the place with theories about luffys next move. i think its safe to say he may just be like this one youtuber said, he may be linked to Son Wukong in nature. From luffy's advancement in his fight with big mom coming up i think he is going to figure out Partial Awakening and find a way to control every fiber of his being. He first put his elasticity to use for gear second to speed up the retraction of his rubber and strength of his momentum strikes. For gear Third he enlarged his bones making their hardness a bigger threat to be wary of. For gear Fourth he gave himself the armor of a Knight with Haki The Strength of wild Beasts and Kept the bone structure of Third and speed of Second...he combined two to create that. but what if he left out his Phoenix punch on purpose? His flame was mostly used combining it with haki. again like in Gear second it seemed like his flame was burning inside his body like in fourth. Soo...for a fifth gear...would it be that or would he awaken? whats needed to awaken? whats the catalyst? Can we assume someone will die or will be taken to create this scenario? Luffy made himself a beast to defeat a man...What will happen when the Beast Is A Man.... Will Luffy Embody The Devil Himself? Such as in Thriller Bark. He took the essence of those souls to give himself the muscle and strength. giving him more power. But for gear fourth, he was already that powerful like his possessed blue counterpart... Anyway the final thing i want to quote on and to finally end with... Remember in the fight with Doffy? His Culverine kept stretching right? As well as kept stretching it didn't loose any power did it correct? There is a clue. The fact this time he wasn't limited to a snap back, his haki created a weapon that never needs to retract at some point like...gokus extending pole he had as a kid, it kept going seemingly. If luffy could compact his body with that form to change the density of his attacks. he could not only be like rob lucci when he became the skinny tiger version increasing his power and speed more, but he would have a new level to reach from there... The seas are big...He will have to get much...much stronger. Till then we read and watch and wait... As far as the manga goes i cant wait for the next one.

love the theory. beyond that I have an idea that Luffy's awakening still effects the surrounding areas. turning everything elastic but himself 'normal' as a way of disorienting the enemy. like a bounce house and everyone, except Luffy, is also rubber and inexperienced.
My prediction is that Luffy will affect the environment in some capacity. Maybe he'll be able to bounce off of the environment around him, as if the surface he's on or something he's holding gains rubber-properties?
This is just an idea,but what if when Luffy touches someone they have basically the gum gum fruit. Ex. Luffy touches Sanji and then Sanji and stretch his foot.

Based off doffies awakening being able to force his devil fruit on the environment, I would think luffys is the same. I can just imagine luffy forcing the very air around him to become rubber like. Being able to push, pull or drag sections of the air to cause large scale damage. Almost like a weaker but more versatile whitebeard.
can you explain how rubber awakening can some how lead to instant transmission i dont get how you came to that conclusion i thought maybe he can turn the landscape to a rubbery trampoline or maybe he could make shock waves from accelerating and retracting his elastic punches at supper speed or something like that but instant transmission is a bit of a stretch in my opinion

I believe Monkey D Luffy Awakening will be connected to his Haki. Remember when he was fighting Duffy in gear 4th mode and his arm was stretching out of control, something like that but more bad ass ^_^

You know, my theory is that luffy is already in an awakened state If you think about it this way: what if the regular ability just turns his body into rubber, while awakening allows luffy to manipulate the properties of the rubber of his body aka gears.
Luffy has put huge amounts of effort into his rubber just to make it useful, do you really think if anyone else ate the rubber fruit they would be able to make it useful? Luffy is a genious in making use of whatever he has and I wouldn't be surprised if he had already reached the level of awakening without him realizing it.
I think Luffy awakening is he has to master all of his gears first that way when he finally awaken he can freely change his "body shape at will". like going 3rd gear but without blowing his hands so he can gain body mass at will and change his body shape for instant speed. this fits Luffy fighting style because his all about brute force......

There was an amazing theory I saw I forgot by who but I'll find out if you want , it was something like how there's 2 of paramicia df , one that affects the users body (luffy , Bellamy etc) one that can produce something (mr 3 wax, pica etc) maybe when you awaken your df you can unlock the the category you don't have , also notice whenever some paramicia gets a awaking there seems to be some sort of demon/beast type thing for example maglen had that Goan venom demon , doffy had that Angel type thing and also he named is attacks like heavenly arrow . This demon type thing appears in logia users Aswell for example when enel got bet there was that Raijjan transformation, Monet turned to that snow beast thing , it's kind of like a transformation I guess

I was thinking you were about to say he'd be able to stretch anything he wants as if its rubber, I feel like that'd be a lot similar to the way the other awakenings worked, but it seems like that'd only be good for like trickery rather than straight battle.

+LegendMac don't put one piece characters and DBZ characters in the same boat. luffy "instant transmission" lol Don't make me laugh Mac. the fastest character in one piece is and will always be kizaru n his limit is the speed of light. idk if kizaru can go faster but we'll have to wait and see but as of right now it's pretty safe to assume his limit is light speed. and I don't see no character surpassing kizaru speeds. they might be able to detect him using a very strong observation haki but not surpassing him in speed.

Benope ULTRO didn't you read what j just said. No one is faster than kizaru at the moment of one piece and I don't think there will ever be someone who will be faster than kizaru. Rayleigh was able to deflect kizaru Lazer via observation haki just as I stated in my previous paragraph

+Terminatorboys I don't get choppers abbility at all. He used to use rumble balls to change... now after time skip he can change all the time and only needs a rumble ball for the big one. I always thought his Df ability only made him human like aka talk and stand up straight

Have u seen those rubber gums that varies in elastisity? I think he will be able to adjust his elastisity. Idk just a thought, something like hardament. A kind of defence technique.

Luffy fought CP9 and learned saoru so I believe his awakening will be like White Beard's power After fighting and beside Jimbei on Fishman island and Sai and the Don on Dressorosa as they all used a shock wave attack and tis will give insight to Luffy's awakening.
