My favourite book series of all time. I love Discworld
I’m so glad you enjoy it. I can definitely see why people enjoy Pratchett’s works ☺️
Glad you enjoyed it! I've read a few Pratchett's now and i would definitely recommend Mort as well. Discworld as a world is broken up into smaller series so I pick the smaller ones that interest me more and am slowly making my way through!
That sounds like a good way to go through the series, there are so many books! Thanks for the recommendation ☺️✨
Yaay, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I read them all in the order that they were published, the early ones (whilst good) are not quite as strong as his later output, but it was a sense of humour that fits really well with me, so I didn't mind and they're not very long. Chronological order is my favourite way to read all the Discworld books, because you get to see how Terry grew over time and became more accomplished. Because I grew up alongside his output, he came to feel like a personal friend more than a writer.
In fact reading writers' books in chronological order should be done way more often than it is. There's nothing like seeing how people like George Eliot, Charles Dickens, Thomas Hardy, Virginia Woolf etc. grew over time. I hope you enjoy all the Discworlds if you do give them ago, I can't recommend them enough.
I was thinking that the first published book would be a good place to start, this was the festive exception, of course, but if I do go ahead with starting the series properly, I think I’ll do it that way. Thank you for the recommendation ☺️
😎👍
Happy to see people spreading the love for Discworld! I discovered Pratchett a couple years ago thanks to BookTube, when I was on a mission to find an author similar to Douglas Adams in style. If you like Hogfather, Soul Music and Thief of Time are great too IMO. Those are the other ones featuring Susan. I started with the Witches series and found those books just as enjoyable. There is a diagram on the wiki page that shows one interpretation of how the different storylines intersect - highly recommend checking that out if you haven't already!
Oh fantastic, thank you for the tips and recommendations, it’s hard to know where to start, but I really enjoyed Susan’s character, so interesting!! ☺️

The Susan books are among my favourite Discworld books so far! She first appears in Soul Music. And there are (highly contrasting) films for both that one and Hogfather, which I thought preserved a lot of what was in the books.
I need to try one of his books.
🤔 Wondering if I saw a signed book by him at the bookstore. I'll have to check. I don't think there was; I probably would've gotten it. I think it's Terry Goodkind I saw.
I’m not sure, but I do hope that if you try his books that you enjoy them ☺️
