I'll be throwing a Turbosmart Dual-Port BOV on my '23 WRX at some point for sure.
Many years ago when I had a Fiesta ST, I swapped the factory diverter valve for the Turbosmart Dual Port, (back in the day with that car, it converted the BOV from electronic actuated to vacuum actuated, so a bit more of a project.) And holy wowza did it up the fun factor. Ran it for 10k miles before trading the car in, never had an issue with idling or stalling or anything on the Cobb stage 1 OTS map, which absolutely did not account for a dual port. Granted Subies are a different platform, but I have high hopes running a dual port won't cause any issues, especially since I trust Turbosmart's R&D.
What we really need is a vacuum-actuated BOV for the WRX imo. Can't get that partial-boost BOV flutter with an electronic BOV as far as I know. And boy do I miss that flutter sound.

Will we ever be able to do the greddy type s or HKS SSQ bov on these cars? I miss those sounds.
Unlikely due to the BOV in these cars being integrated into the compressor housing of the turbo… Also the newer systems use electronic motors to activate the valves instead of a vacuum based system those older BOV’s use…. But I’m sure someone out there will do it! 🤘🏻
I'd choose a bypass valve for performance that just a sound

I’m running a mishimoto intake with a dual port it’s definitely louder and actually noticeable from the outside.
just bought the mishimoto intake, do you really hear that much of a difference with just the intake?

Wait what keeps the GFB valve from dropping its piston if the car shakes or something?
The relief inside the turbo housing is much smaller then the piston. There’s no way for the piston to drop fully out of the housing once installed. Tolerances are tight, but installing correctly isn’t very difficult.
Is it actually safe to do a bov? Ive heard its better off running and intake, whats the intake on that?
Thank you for commenting. I go into some pretty good detail at the end of this video to help ease your mind about doing a aftermarket BOV. If you’re worried, stick with a full recirculating valve and you can’t go wrong… P.S. it’s a ETS intake system 🤘🏻
You should rev it to max in WOT then go into idle in this case it will stall with dualport.
This is very true! I was so confused when my car kept stalling when i rev.
@@Just_my_vb There are two workarounds:
1. Do not engage clutch just after WOT Rev. Wait 2 - 3 seconds after decell.
2. After Pshhhh quickly press and release accelerator pedal (clutch is engaged).
Any of these will prevent stall.

I have a question: already buy with you guys the GFB Diverter, the noise it’s not bad! But when I drive my car I can not hear nothing lol if I stay outside yes but very low!!! How I can do for more loud noise? I need to buy other one?
For maximum results, couple your GFB valve with an intake! 🔊

When it comes to the dual. (Can someone dumb it down for me please) it’s best if it’s not installed in a stock? Why if you wanna play it safe don’t go dual? is it bette/safer to have some bolt ons to install dual? (Like intake and charge pipe) 😅
It all comes down to tuning. The dual port releases roughly 50% of the unused air into the atmosphere. That air was previously accounted for by the Mass AirFlow Sensor. The lack of air causes inconsistencies in the cars factory tuning. This may turn into drivability issues depending on the car and your driving style. The easy answer is… stay with a recirculating valve if you don’t plan to modify the car much further. Or pick up a dual port if tuning is in your future!

Nah it doesn’t bud. Your good as long as you don’t do a blow off valve.
Your stock car already has a recirculating blow off valve!
would a speed Speed/Density Tune be necessary?
Unfortunately, with all of the emission’s restrictions we face these days, speed density tuning has become something tuners can’t do. Not because they don’t want to!! But because most manufacturers have eliminated the ability to bypass important sensors needed to calculate emissions.
Vent to atmosphere is also not legal in California
There's a peculiar (and unpleasant) tone as you approach redline with both of the Turbosmart components that was not present with the GFB - it's similar to a squeaky hinge. (and feels like nails on a chalkboard to me) Is this inherent to the design? GFB @ 4:08 lacks the sound, Turbosmart has it at both 6:01 and 8:04, (recirc vs dual port, respectively) and it was even noticeable in the in-car audio for the Turbosmart components.

Voiding warranties is always a touchy subject. The valve itself shouldn’t affect the car in a way that would void a warranty. But if you have an engine failure, the dealership will do everything in their power to keep from warranting the job. They might blame any failure of aftermarket parts. If concerned, I would swap the factory valve back in the car before transporting it to the dealer if such an event happens.
can i go dual port without a tune? will it give me some issues?
Lots of people run TurboSmart Dual Port Valves with no tune and no issues….. With that being said, no one can “promise” you won’t have any issues. If you’re concerned for any reason, I would choose the TurboSmart Plumb back style BOV.

If it’s full recirculating it works exactly like the stock one does! He explained that in the video.

Probably not the dual port but the full Re circulating ones
dual port will never work well with maf. you need a speed density tune as speed density doesn't use mass air flow for fueling calculations. that being said its not really a big deal. car will go a LITTLE rich for a second not gonna really hurt much.

I wouldnt suggest any subaru owner to get a blow off valve. Just go with an intake

The charcoal filter, silencer/box really do a number on the sound. If you add an intake, get ready!

There are two ways to do it then, keep it legal and do the cobb pipe + drop in filter, or take all the stuff out and throw in a perrin intake kit both do not require a tune. @@stg3367
