charge pipes and intercooler are some of the most frustrating installs to do, at least you guys made it fun to watch lol
Échale ganas!
Hey Edwin, just came across your channel. Great install vid. Glad you got a good deal on the intercooler too. I am a fan of CTS parts but also know a lot of the don't fit very well. I have there turbo back exhaust an the downpipe is a terrible fit. I have heard from many people the IC pipes are tough to line up. I have a white MK7 also. Keep up the good work dude!
Hey dude I appreciate the love 🙏🏽. Not many GTI video ppl out there and I thought it’d be nice to install some stuff in case someone wanted to watch it. Aside from the Downpipe does the exhaust sound good?
I think it is probably the best with the exhaust. Having the resonator and muffler is a great combo to calm down that raspy sound. I know its preference. But I absolutely hate the way our cars sound straight piped. I'm older but have always loved loud. But that sound is just not a VW sound, its way to Honda. But with a muffler an res. It has that nice deep torque sound like a VW. They have an audio clip on there site. But also just the downpipe with the stock cat back was not to bad. A lot louder that the CTS catback lol
I feel your pain man, I swapped my IE intercooler all by myself and I can say it was a tone of work. The only clips I broke was one of the yellow core support clips.
I thought I’d be able to do it alone but having someone to help maneuver the stuff makes things a lot easier. I thought I was gonna break that yellow support too since it was a little difficult to pop it out. Were you able to get a replacement part?
@@jaguardeoaxaca Nope hahahaha, it is semi secured in there. I am planning on driving a screw thru the yellow clips to secure em sometimes soon.
Lol oh damn. Well I hope it works out and stays put. Where there’s a will there’s a way
how much of a performance gain did you experience? most say throttle response?
good stuff man you live and you learn. try repinning the coolant sensor
Thanks dude. Luckily I was able to repin it and like you said, you live and you learn 😅.
Thanks for showing us the struggle. What hardware parts did you need if any? I just got one too but it only came with the hoses.
No problem. All the hardware was reused from the actual old parts of the Intercooler. The hoses came with their own rings. Besides that I didn’t have to use any additional parts.
Got a question for y’all haha
Got a deal for a mk7 intercooler but mine is a mk8 pretty sure is the same what y’all think??
Thanks for the help
From what I’ve seen, yea the Mk7 intercooler will fit the Mk8. I searched up the IE intercooler I’m running and it’s compatible with MK7 and 8
Did it feel any faster after installed?
No I didn’t feel a difference but it’s more to prevent heat soak and not damage the car
hey man ! was it a plug and play or needed a remap?
It’s all plug and play. I have an OTS tune so I really can’t do much. Planning on getting an Cobb AP to get more power out of it
@@jaguardeoaxaca do you have any before and after numbers? I'm going FMIC just to avoid allllll of that lol. Love the vid, easy to watch 🤜🤛
@@TheModernSkater I appreciate it dude 🙏🏽 I don’t have any numbers but I went off of this website which has all the numbers with all different intercoolers being tested.

Worse feeling when you mess something up. But like you said, “you live and you learn!”
Yup! Every single time there's some type of obstacle and you just have to roll with the punches and keep going.
