Harry and George here (The directors of Accident Man: Hitman's Holiday) We were so happy with how the shots came out and as long time Corridor fans, working with you guys and appearing in one of your videos was a dream come true!
Nice job to y'all too :D Just watched the movie, pretty nice!
Epic collab! 😍
Thanks for giving them the opportunity!
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 We r oficially in Hollywood. Glad Ive been a sub for two years and have seen you litterally grow up in the Industry🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
You guys are amazing
It’s a sign of professionalism when you can give and receive constructive feedback without being derogatory or offended. Well done to both the directors and the Corridor Crew.
that is fundamental when working in post. cant take feedback personally. even if its mean.
It's a sign of caring about what you are making, professional or not.
I also thought the filmmakers did a great job at giving compliments along with their notes. Very often you see people focusing on the stuff they want changed and forgetting to mention what they liked
14:18 I’m glad to see that Scott was not only inspired by Jordan’s eyeball-skewer effect, but also his bowling animation
One of these days somebody’s just gonna actually sacrifice their arm for a shot. Until then this shot is pretty sick 😂👏
There always crazy ones around the YT like Houston Jones
You should collab with corridor crew for a good karate fight scene :D
@@joe94c I don’t think I’m of that caliber yet 😂 they should get Wonderboy in for sure though!
@@SenseiSeth nah man, ur the only one I'm voting for
literally just binged your vids yesterday lmao
seeing you guys do this stuff for professionals outside your studio is so satisfying. you guys made it so I'm legit excited for a special effects team... wtf? I feel like I'm routing for my favorite sports team in a new sport or something. you guys keep making your own lane and do what your doing.
Could’ve said it better myself ! I love seeing these guys make moves and get great recognition.
I used to feel like that was the case in the earlier days but at this point Corridor seems to be pretty well established. I'm certain they could straight up do vfx shots for a decently sized movie if thats something they want to.
Have to say i'm really impressed with how the eyeball shot turned out. I thought the first cut of it looked a little rough, something about the eye model was twigging my brain, not sure exactly what. But the combination of the blood obscuring the eye a little and the camera focus adjustment really helped sell the scene. That final arm break shot was also so bloody smooth. So kudos to the directors for giving you guys the feedback to take your great first drafts and turn them into something amazing. Mad props to you both for these shots, and congratulations on landing the gig to do them in the first place.
Hi! Anatomy nerd here.
The eye shot: I would have liked to see the optic nerve represented alongside the occular muscles. It's the little things, ya know.
The arm shot: Loved the fingers wiggling, but all those muscles attact on the large bone above the elbow, and if you hyperextended to that degree, those little piggies simply wouldn't wiggle.
It looked weird to me (brilliantly done and VERY visceral, highly entertaining).
Hitchcock got mail from opthamologists after Psycho released bc Janet Leigh was clearly - to them - still alive in the tub death closeup; her pupils weren't dialated.
So they used drops of belladonna in future films.
the fingers not being able to move makes sense, though they probably would still make them move since it gives more realism to the idea that the whole arm section isnt a dummy and is actually his arm
@@Penguin-1966 Absolutely.
Something else that looked off about the arm shot. When a joint hyperextends, your reaction is usually to bend toward it in order to relieve this stress but in the shot with the clown, it bends away. There’s also no way the actor would have the leverage to break the arm with both hands on the wrist/forearm.
I think if they showed one arm on the upper bicep and the other on the wrist it would be much more believable and explain why the clown moves the way it does
Tip for the editor: Anytime you have a notification sound in the footage that you can't omit (like at 11:43) just make sure to put something on screen acknowledging that its there so you don't have viewers trying to find a missed DM or something
I checked my Discord every single time and I hate it
it drove me nuts ngl
For real
Happened 3 times, one was really loud
Even better, grab the actual audio file for the Discord sound, sync it up with the footage, and phase-invert it. It'll cancel the sound out altogether (or at least most of it).
Can't wait for the next episode where they corridor over everyone's digital, then smash wrens arm off of a steel table to invoke realism for their broken limbs project
Nah. They gotta digital everyone’s corridor first
cant wait for the next episode where they just actually break each other’s limbs
when nico said "it's corridoring time" and then corridored over everyone's digital I got chills. bravo vince.
@@stuckonaslide damn you for making that joke before i could
@@lpc9929 Interesting
Glad to see you guys and Scott Adkins get together in the action!
Corridor Crew breakout moment?
That final shot of the eyeball worked really well, the blood spray lead perfectly into the next shot. Arm break was awesome!
Kept checking my discord notifications at the end of this video. But great work guys, you really leveled up in this one. The shots turned out incredibly well.
same lol
same lol

I can't help but think that in the arm bend, there could've been some evidence of a bone breaking the skin, like something poking the cloths to really add to it. The way the arm bends just doesn't convince me enough.
but super cool to have 2 shots in a movie though! congrats.
Yeah, if I'm looking for niggling detail that would be it for me. It looks like a prop arm, if you look at the break-point, not the hand or the actors faces.
But I think in the moment, as part of the scene/film, that's not going to be your main focus so we (or at least I) wouldn't notice it because my attention would be pulled to the hand moving and the faces.
As Niko said, that sells it as not your standard arm breaking trick.
Ya I don’t want to sound like I’m hating but it just looks like a fake arm to me but the effect of transition is super nice
Agreed, it looks like a floppy tube of foam. I know Niko was attempting full realism without CGI, but... I think a rubber prop arm with a couple wooden dowels run through the middle of it would have given it substance, resistance for the actor and an actual 'crack' in terms of sound and movement that was noticeable in camera. Even through a jacket, this would have incredibly made it look like... An arm instead of a foam noodle.
I think the clown costume looks just puffy enough to hide an obvious bone poke. Plus from the clown's reaction it's clearly meant to be a bit of a comedic beat, which I think adds further leeway
Also the eyeball scene, while it's really good, I don't know why Jordan cut the eyeball into pieces. Other than that it was fine.
I really hope Scott gets some more recognition soon, his "small" movies are great but he really deserves an actual Hollywood budget. He would've been perfect as Batman.
Actually the hollywood budget tends to get in the way. He plus, I bet everyone makes more off the release with the crew he has.
I think he would be perfect for Johnny Cage!
Gotham by Gaslight would be perfect!
Always thought he would be a decent batman
I don’t think he’d be a great Batman, just not that type of an actor. I see home has what he already is. If that makes sense
The Jordans are such awesome assets to the Corridor Crew
Guys an idea for a video, replace the Avengers Hulk with the 2008 Incredible Hulk. Like the scene where he chases Black widow in the aircraft carrier in Avengers 1, replace some small segments of that to see how it would look. Keep up the amazing work, great to see you guys working big time.
These discord sounds, man hahahaha
Great vid, the eyeball one was nasty (in a good way).
I remember in highschool I was doing a short film with some friends. To get the effect of snapping my buddy’s knee backwards we did an extreme closeup so you could only my buddy’s knee, got him to put his pants on backwards then added some really crunchy sounds in post. Turned out pretty good!
That sounds awesome!
Crude, but with properly quick cuts and continuity it can work just fine.
Doing a VFX shot for a Scott Adkins film is definitely a “made it” moment, congrats!
I watched the movie and ngl, these two scenes really stood out whilst watching it. Feels even cooler knowing you guys were behind it. During the eye poke scene I was wondering why the shot was still lingering around after she got stabbed by Scott, then when the skewer came out I didn't even bother to think how it may have been made just fully encapsulated into the story. And the killer clown scene, the bone-break didn't feel out of the blue, the choreography really made it smooth, and the edits were non-obtrusive and instead of stealing my attention to the shot it just kept me fully immersed into what's happening on screen. Amazing job by you guys and the team behind the movie. Major props to Scott for giving y'all a shot.
Scott deserves the good things that come to him. I love to see these kinds of respectful partnerships
just watched hitman's holiday today, absolutely loved it. Scott Adkins is one of if not the best action star of our time, happy to see you guys helped work on the movie as well
I think he's underrated
I can see corridor digital being the new leaders of vfx, practical effects, etc for movies in the future. They will become a household name when it comes to movie development. Just give them time
Niko's comment about treasuring critique from experts is exactly how you become an expert! Dude just loves learning, it's so great to see.
Wren is definitely the resident expert on bone breaking everytime I click a Corridor thing I wonder what's broken/did he have a one wheel incident. Also I like Niko still has a healthy respect for practical special effects.
I saw the film last night and thought of you guys, can't believe you did that effect! Was amazing :)
This was just immensely fun to watch. It feels like the culmination of so much that Corridor has worked toward and promises so much more to come. It's weird that a video about breaking arms and poking eyes could be so uplifting, but it is. Thank you for doing what you do and bringing all of us along for the ride.
The arm break complete with the bone-snapping sound effect was sublime.
Hmm while it's absolutely cool that you guys got to do an actual VFX shot for a movie, goes to show how far you've come
I do think the "elbow break" was a bit... weak? It just felt like that Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets kinda jelly like arm, just bending around the pole instead of an actual break. Not sure what the rating on the movie was so I can understand why it would be less visceral but idk, that's my "critique", if you can even call it that.
Still proud of y'all for making it this far.
Could just be the sound effects; hopefully the final shot will use sound to "amplify" the impact of the break.
I thought the same thing. The clothes did not help. Maybe break it and letting it fall would have been more shocking. I still need to watch it with sound.
@@QuincyKane The right sound effect will go a long way to make this much more gruesome. Correct.
And if you're using the same trick for a horror movie you'll of course add some blood and maybe the end of a bone sticking out to the broken arm. :D The idea itself is totally legit and can be built upon.
The effect was spot on, the clothes contain the broken bone so it looks as wobbly as it should. The sound effect on the other hand couldve been a more poppy one. And maybe removing one frame from the moment of it breaking.
For me, the problem is in the finger wiggling. It doesn't look like the hand is owned by a person in pain. It just looks like someone is proving it is a real hand.
corridor has always been my favorite youtube channel for years and i love how they are getting into the scene of making shots and visual effects for high budget productions (: you guys are amazing!
just a brilliant youtube channel, giving honest opinions and detailed insight to an ever prominent subject (CG effects). and I love how they are still fairly critical on films but still get people who worked on those films on and going through why that stuff happens.
Just saw the film yesterday that specific bone break was very memorable..i didnt know ou guys were responsible for it .....great job
Even though I watched the entire video of how both these effects were made I still clinched my jaw and winced when I saw the final clips! Man what kind of life must you guys have to just casually have a call and be like "oh hi Scott Adkins, how you doing?"
I love how the directors are so positive and encouraging, and how you guys are modelling taking critique - it's really good. I know it's necessary, in every industry but especially yours - but it's challenging!
You guys just keep leveling up! It's brilliant to see your journey and development as a team
This was really fun, seeing you guys get feedback from someone else and working on it taking the directors note into consideration. Great video
I love watching this bts of your everyday work! You guys are awesome!!!
i can’t wait to see corridor continue to work on big projects like this, this is so cool.
When I was in architecture school, critiques was my favourite part of the design process.Working with your peers and getting feedback to make the project even better is absolutely exciting and I think always makes the project stronger.
*Oh and I have a suggestion for Jake to do in one of his superhero trope videos. I actually suggested this idea before but I doubt anyone saw my comment. I said he should test the trope where someone is staring at another person from across the street, and when that person looks up a bus or some large truck drives by and after it passes the person is gone. I know a way Jake could test that. He would have to hire a truck driver though.*
I gotta admit this was one of the best sponsor integrations you guys have done so far. Also I have to say hats off to Niko. Using the hidden cut in such a creative way was genius!
Huh? Personally, I specifically came to the comments section to air my grieavances about the sponsor segment... With SSL/TLS it's not "like sending a postcard", you already have end-to-end encryption with just about any server and noone can read along. And "it's impossible for their VPN servers to keep logs", what? That was a completely nonsensical statement too, unless someone explains to me how this is impossible...
@@R3dFlames Look, I'm just ignoring all that nonsense about VPN's security at this point. Tom Scott put it very nicely in one of his videos. But as far as the segue and thematically fitting sponsored segments go, you have to admit it was nicely chosen. (Not the contents of the ad itself)
That you all know each other so well that you're completely comfortable working together like this is fantastic. I'd gladly see any feature film with all of you behind the camera with Scott Adkins front and center.
This is awesome. It's great seeing the "real world" aspects of vfx production. The collaboration efforts between the artists, directors, and actors required to make the shots work.
This was so cool of Scott to give you guys this opportunity, and I think you both did a great job with it!
P.S. - Jordan made a really good CGEYE shot!
Just finished watching the movie and I have to say, had a hell of a good time. Seeing your guys' work in the film was awesome as well, added some extra greatness to the scenes. Reminded me of Hardcore Henry at times. Hope to see you guys get to work on other big projects like this in the future!
So happy for you guys to have your work put in a production like this, you certainly deserve it and more!
I have been watching your videos for 9 years and I can’t say how happy I am to see your growth and see you get the recognition you deserve.
You have also inspired me and I’m sure many others. Keep it up we love you!
I love you guys and it's amazing seeing how your talent is finally getting out there and paying divends. I can't wait to see these scenes in the movie.
It’s so cool seeing you guys work on bigger projects like this
Always love seeing how far you guys are going in love with the channel glad I’ve stuck around for so long
Pretty cool that they let you guys show your work on this!
Scott is such a champion, so much respect for the craft. Which is why he loves you guys. So awesome. Well done lads!
love this video so much! congratulations on moving up. this channel has shown consistent growth and also consistent collaboration. it's wonderful to see the end result be such a success for CC! (and this movie looks dope.)
It's amazing to see this... we really all been waiting for is the actual behind the scenes like this. Literal behind 2 scenes. From receiving to planning to creating to implementation to final product is amazing to see
Scott is such an incredibly nice guy! He's so complimentary and seems so genuine.
lol the discord sounds in the video made me check discord like 5 times xD great video like always
Same
Not only it's great to see you involved as sort of specialists/experts in professional cinema stuff, but also amazing to be able to observe the behind the scenes of this process! (like - the studio isn't ashamed of working with 'some CZcamsrs' ;))
I don't know how big the studio actually is. It's a direct to digital movie with most likely a very small budget. The directors themselves have their own CZcams channel. Before this they were working at places like ILM. They're just VFX guys, same as Corridor.
So happy for you guys. Would love to see you do more of these.
First, I f'n LOVE Scott Adkins.
Second, I watched Accident Man: Hitman's Holiday 2 days ago and SPECIFICALLY noted those two gags as being awesome and NOW I find out they were done by my favourite group of nerds on CZcams! My worlds are coming together!
One of the biggest take-aways from this video though, is that Jordan has the making of a serious action star! Her demo was fantastic and Scott should cast her in his next film :)
It makes me so happy to see Corridor Crew's talents being recognized and utilized!
When the Kirbys announced they'd been working on a movie on their channel I had no idea there'd be a crossover with Corridor. Awesome job!
I really liked seeing how your work actually ends up in films, would really love to see more of the director/VFX interaction. Thanks!
Me and the entire CZcams community as a whole have watched you grow so much from your quirky video game battles and amazing visual effects over the years, and I wanted to say on behalf of us all we are so proud and can’t wait to see how far you guys can go. Keep up the incredible work Corridor Crew.
Amazing and insightful video. Not personally a fan of how the Eye looked like a bunch of seperate chunks of eye, but wasn't falling apart completely, but that's personal opinion. All the focus work and showing how the shots worked into the movie was awesome!
I've handled pig eyes before, they are pretty tough and rubbery. And it takes quite a bit of force to rip an eye out of the socket. Personally I would have made the eye bulge out, then have the skewer come through with a gush of blood. But to each their own.
Unfortunately, everyobody has a different expectation of how an eye is supposed to look like. I think the blood spray hides some of the finer details and perfectly nullifies any sort of jarring impressions we would have. Iy made us all go at the very least "meh, it's kind of good".
@@yiklongtay6029 oh for sure. Its a minor thing, and it matters far more what the people making the movie think lol
That was a strange choice. But then again an eye probably wouldn't behave like that since it isn't just floating freely inside the eye socket like this makes it seem. I don't think it was a problem with the effect itself. It was the choice made by the directors to have this happen in the first place. Frankly I thought the blood coming out was both unrealistic while also not going far enough. The way it kind of sputtered out like a blocked up garden hose was an odd choice. If you're going to do it either go big or go home.
The whole blood fountain reminded me of old school splatter horror movies like Braindead from Jackson that is just over the top gore, it doesn't sell realism but a conscious style to be just over the top as an aesthetic.
The fingers wiggling kind of blow it. I mean, maybe one stretch of the hand, or some twitching. But the finger wiggling seems obvious. If you snap the elbow at 90 degrees and hold it like that, I'm not sure how you have the control to move your fingers like that. Muscles, nerves, ligaments, they're all now tight against the bone at 90 degree angle. Still though, the shot itself is pretty sweet. I bet for a long time people who don't know any better will still just say "oh it's just a CGI arm."
Fingers wiggle just fine after a break. Sometimes it even does it involuntarily. Source: broke my arm about as bad as this video show. Still have a 6 inch scar
Very well done guys! Your work looks incredible! I really hope your services are used in more films in the future!
What an incredible collaboration. You guys deserve to be in filming. Congratulations on your gig!
The arrm gag is actually pretty similar in principle to what we'd do in stage combat Really cool :)
Would love to see Corridor doing more post production for big movies 🔥
The shot with Jordan’s reflection over nicos shoulder is chefs kiss. Corridor does it again.
brilliant move on scott's part. bringing recognition to both his crew and corridor crew
Dang that’s sick, nice job guys
Just watched Peppermint on Netflix and there is a scene where they almost do this arm break. Immediatly thought of this video. Their version looks like they needed you guys to make it better.
Mad milestone here, especially since I was watching way back at early collabs with rocket jump back in the day.
Well done Sam, Niko and the rest of the corridor crew it's been awesome watching it all.
I'm happy for you guys! Great job on the shots!
11:43 the random discord notification sound effect tho
edit: another one at 13:02
Since you just started reactions to Rings of Power, I'm now expecting that you'll have be comparing their bone break to yours in a future episode!
Was gonna say, that one was pretty nasty
yeaaaah the amazing Scott is back in one of your video...always amazing to see how humble and down to earth this guy is ...we want more video like this one .
Thanks so much for this video! It's great to see just a small part of the entire movie making pipeline. Great work!!!
Making a good visceral shot is an art from in and of itself! I think you guys nailed it because it really made me cringe (like, in a good way).
11:44 man that disc notif messed me up. Was looking through my disc for ages.
Man 12:42 again, come on guys xD
You guys always amazes me, keep doing higher, this is dope
Just went and saw both accident man movies, loved them. Loved seeing y'all's work, in the final project as well
Tbh the hand part is a bit weird, it's more Realistically if you put one hand on shoulder and one hand on the forearm or wrist, or you can pinned the clown to the beam by stabbing him with spear or something then it make sense to break the arm with 2 hand holding the arm.
Wren. The expert in bone breaking 😂
Scott’s gotta be one of the coolest guys on earth. And to see that he’s humble and cares enough about the experience he had with you guys to recommend you to help on shots is incredible. Absolute legend.
Excellent job, guys. The effects appear to be above and beyond for a film of this budget/production range.
I feel the movement of the clown during the arm break doesn't quite match.
Before the snap, he's fairly perpendicular to the pillar and after the snap, his back is flat against the pillar and there was nothing holding him back to create enough force on the arm to snap it.
The clown would just rotate around the corner because there's nothing stopping him.
Not necessarily. If he's leaning up against the wall, all his weight is at his back. Then the opponent puts all their weight into your forearm outstretched. Makes sense imo.
Great job on the shots. It does jump out at me that the clown shot breaks physics. Without anything pinning him against the wall, his body would rotate around the corner, like Matt's does at 2:00. While you edited that out to make the shot work, I think it lost some impact because it looks like his arm was never even connected to his body.
I noticed this aswell. It doesn't really make sense. Imo really takes away from the shot.
Such a great video, so impressed by and proud of you guys for doing this work!
You guys reallly go above and beyond with the amazing content you put out.
A question for Niko and CD in general: I've been sitting on an idea for an effect for several years now. It's above my skillset to create a physical proof of concept, though I got an animated proof of concept. How do I find someone to make use of it, so it doesn't die with me?
Scott Adkins, one of the most underrated actors I can think of.
Superbly done. Glad to hear all are doing well now
Great collaboration! Would love to see more collaborations and behind the scene stuff! Great content.
Is Nico always smiling or is that his normal face?
Yooooo
I'm so happy to see the corridor crew getting a shot at an actual movie! And I am so happy for you guys!
So cool you guys being able to do this, Scott is a great dude.
I love the part where they said, "it's digitaling time!" and then Freddy appeared and started corridoring everyone.
