There's a disconnect here between the core art communities online. And the new consumers in the evolving art market. Artists aren't charging what they're worth. And they aren't communicating nor networking outside of their art communities. The 'cryptobros' do not follow nor understand the ethics and etiquette of the art world. There must be a mutual understanding and mode of respect between these groups. And an education campaign for all.

The funniest part of this video for me is me being completely unable to tell who is and isn't being serious lmao. I know Nick and Ethan aren't, but so many of the others also gave off vibes that made me think "Wait?? Are they joking too???" One thing that has always frustrated me with the promotion of NFTs is that people act like digital art had no value before. As a digital artist who has commissioned people for art and is commissioned, our art has value and it doesn't need some dumbass receipt that destroys the environment to prove that.

Honestly, it’s not super surprising that most of the NFT bros took you at face value. Part of what makes the NFT scene what it is is because they purposely use confusing language to sound smart enough to fool other people, and because they themselves don’t know what they’re talking about. Another part of it is that they have a culture of hyping each other up beyond what’s reasonable and not being skeptical of other NFT cons.
So basically, it’s a room full of assholes who all are trying to con each other with language they themselves don’t understand. The difference between you and them is that you’re doing it as a joke.
