Realistic coffee filter peony flowers and buds

I have tried a few techniques to produce a realistic peony using coffee filters. I even tried using silk and the same patterns - I think I'll have another go at this.
The best outcome, was using coffee filters dyed with icing gel colour, dipped in the same coloured gel, dried and then the petals cut out. It was easy to produce the petals this way and it produced the most realistic peonies.
I made peony buds too as these help to make a lovely arrangement and the sepals and leaves to go with both the buds and full flowers.
As usual I add layers of detail to add to the realism of the flowers - its of course up to you what techniques you use. I hope you take the techniques in this video and build on them to produce something even better yourself!

peonies are one of many spring flowers that i love. You have replicated it so realistically one can have Peonies in the house all year long. Absolutely beautiful. Cant wait to try and make a bunch myself. Thank you

hello, I just attempted to make my first peony. It is lovely but looks more like a cabbage rose. reviewed your design instruction again, and i think adding more petals and attaching the last row the way you did will improve the look and make it a Peony. I am enjoying this process and thank you so much for your videos.
Hi Gale. I’m sure you’ll perfect your peonies. Although I try and come up with methods I can replicate time and again and share - sometimes I find I just have to look at how it’s coming out and tweak things a little like adding one more petal to a layer. After all nature is often imperfectly perfect!

Have you ever used a spray fixative instead of modgepodge?
I'd love to make your peony's but your video only came up to about a fourth of the screen and you went off camera when adding petals, actually doing much of the video, could you do that video again? And also show how you dyed the peony petals to get the dark red in spots. Those are the most beautiful peony's anywhere online and I'd love to make them thank you!

Hi thanks for the feedback and sorry I don’t know how to fix this?? I use a microphone and check the recording on my phone on the video editing software and after I have posted it on CZcams? Really don’t understand how the sound is ok on all those but not for some people? If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this please help! X
