- The worker in this nematode lab video begins with a soil sample and processes it down to nothing but nematodes, which are microscopic roundworms.
Special thanks to Austin Stevens. Produced by the UF/IFAS Nematode Assay Lab at the University of Florida Entomology and Nematology Department. For more information please visit our website at nematology.ifas.ufl.edu/assaylab.
I so wanted to see a microscope shot of it! dang
me too... what a disappointment. and why didn't he sieve that lump in the bottom of the 2nd centrifuge op?
The sugar solution helps to separate the nematodes from the soil debris. As the sugar solution is more dense than the nematodes but less dense than the soil, the soil pellets and the nematodes become suspended in the supernatant.
seriously thats why i sat through the whole thing lmfao
Great! can you give me the paper or reference that you use for extraction, please? Thank you.
Good day, can you maybe please provide a reference for this technique?
is this method suitable for extracting c. elegans too?
