  • Well call me David Hasselhoff because I'm turning my 2020 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Widebody into the mildly mediocre Knight Rider TV show car - KITT. I think that HellRider is a better name than KitKat or HellKit haha so we will stick with HellRider. This is part 1 of a 2 part series. In today's video I start off with telling you exactly what I'm going to do the car and then I proceed to show you how to remove the front bumper on my 2020 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Widebody. This may be the first widebody Challenger front bumper removal on CZcams but I couldn't do it without the help of @MeanBee392 and his video on How to Remove the Front Bumper on a narrow body challenger:

    Had all my pins and screws removed but wanted to see a WB pull on the sides before I did 😁 also put front on jack stands, removed tires, and used a impact ratchet for the 10mm bolts. Came off easily 🤷🏻
    Doing my RGBW halos and demon eyes, but might do engine bay as well while bumper is off.
    Beautiful color and car

    I felt exactly the same about pulling my bumper, and I've done it tons of times in other cars. You'll see some of my other thoughts in my copycat vid lol.
    And about those marks you see on the inside. Long time ago I worked in a plastic molding plant when I still lived in Detroit. Basically we pulled the plastic part out of the mold as it opened up, trimmed the flashing, attached any clips, padding, etc. to it, and threw it on the rack. All before the mold opened up with the next one, and that machine doesn't wait. But before putting it on the rack, we had to write a mark on it that it was done and by me. Sometimes it was initials, sometimes a code. But that's basically what those are. The plant I was in did mostly Chrysler trim pieces, but I also did door panels for corvettes. Those sucked the most and I could barely keep up with the machine, BUT there are a bunch of '99 vettes out there right now that have my markings on the inside of their door panels and that's pretty cool to think about.

    Thanks for the vid. Gives me a way to install a very hidden camera under the main bumper in front of the lower grill. Will be hooked up to a device that has video in front come on so when pulling into anything sketchy I don’t mess up the splitter. Been good for a year but anything helps.

    • @SchwayZ
      @SchwayZ  Před 3 lety +1

      Great idea! I wish they came with that stock. The noses are very long and it's hard to tell where the splitter is sitting inside the cabin

    That intro tho! Really nice video and what's the difference between a wide body and narrow body?

    • @SchwayZ
      @SchwayZ  Před 3 lety +1

      Appreciate it!🙏🙏🙏 The main difference is that my widebody had a wiring harness that you had to disconnect on both sides. The narrow body video I referenced only had it on one side. The other difference is that it's a little harder to reach into the bumper because the fender flares and the wider wheels
