      Yoshua Hariman I haven’t got my pitch pipe out to double check and I suggest unless you have perfect pitch, why are you nitpicking this? If it has dropped a semitone , it isn’t that discernible to 99% of humans.

    • @yoshuahariman
      @yoshuahariman Před 4 lety

      Judy West i’m nitpicking it for the sake of nitpicking it. ringmasters are one of my top three quartets and i found it interesting that they went flat on an uptune such as this. also, just so i could say i knew they went flat :p

    • @benmaloney5434
      @benmaloney5434 Před 4 lety +6

      This is no mistake. Listen to their other recordings ... the drop is always fairly consistent. Ask yourself why. If you’re completely opposed to pitch drift, you must sacrifice correct tuning in order to preserve the key - which would be utterly pointless in a cappella music. Which chord is out of tune, exactly? Which chord is flat? You can’t put your finger on it, because the answer is: none of them. A rise or fall in pitch is totally natural as a result of tuning pure intervals in a complex arrangement like this. If nothing moved at all, I’d be slightly worried because it would mean the tuning (and therefore ring) was being compromised in some way, but fact that they end routinely low is actually a sign of skill.

    • @jeffreygranger6913

      @Nads They rushed the song along and muddied a whole lot of chords they could have RUNG right properly. I wonder where the fire was. The last chord was spot on, I'll give you that. The rest was garbled.

    • @jeffreygranger6913
      @jeffreygranger6913 Před 4 lety

      @Nads I'm glad you like it. The rushing to the final chord muddied it up.I never heard Max Q on this one. They just didn't do it justice for me. I have heard better from others.

    • @Graham_M
      @Graham_M Před 3 lety

      @@jeffreygranger6913 so your issue is just that you don’t like the interpretation... that’s perfectly valid, but just because it doesn’t fit what you want doesn’t mean it’s any worse :) also even in the tag the tuning is always SPOT ON.... especially if you listen to Emanuel

    • @SkragaRooRoo
      @SkragaRooRoo Před 3 lety +3

      @@Graham_M @Nads I mean the tuning is off in a bunch of places but that's not unexpected since they do it att such a high tempo. Around 1:15 - 1:18 Rasmus is off. Chord around 1:29 is also off. Again at 1:31 at "come true". Jakob also has some issues with pitch in his higher chest register if you listen carefully. They also struggle with keeping up the pitch around 1:39 - 1:41. If you were to spend more than 2 minutes actually listening to the tuning of the chords you could probably here more places where it is off.
      Of course this does not mean that it wasn't an exceptional performance. They killed it but @Jeffrey Granger brings up a valid point.
      That whole tag was amazing and the last chord was MAGICAL.
