Thanks for showing me why never to live in an apartment with car stackers, so annoying to use, can't have a 4x4, and i can just imagine the scratched/damaged cars if not parked correctly

Thanks for this video. I was interested in a condo in San Francisco to rent and someone complained that the car stacker was not working when they rented so had to do some research. No thank you.

We have these systems in our apartment complex for a number of years, they are a great system, easy to operate, safe and reliable. Never seen anything like it.

Wow.. thanks for posting this! We were looking at an apartment that had stackers, but this has confirmed that I would never buy a place that has these installed. There is so much potential for things to go wrong, and I can imagine what it would be like trying to get out of the building in the morning when everyone else is trying to leave. Such a nightmare!

Troy: Yes we do have the exact same system. It take around 2 1/2m and I was told for safety reasons the adjacent system is locked out and doesn't operate and this makes sense. The height clearance depends on what clearance the building has, if outdoors you can have whatever height of vehicle you want.

Brendan: Do you have the exact same system? With this one it takes 5min+each time you want to park, or get out your car. The adjacent stackers won't work if one is in use so sometimes you have to wait until your neighbour has finished the process before you can commence = approx a 10min wait to put your car in or out. Not to mention the height clearance you can't park anything taller than a standard sedan. I'll credit it with clever engineering, but far from a "great system".

Unfortunately we bought the unit off the plan, so didn't really understand it until it was too late & the place was built. Lesson learnt is read the fine print carefully! If we were fully aware and bought after the place was built I don't think we would have purchased after seeing this set up in person.

Glad for your Brendan if it's convenient and works well for you. But this application in this location for me is annoying. Agreed it's about 2 1/2 min "operation time" going down or up, but the fact I have to operate down & up each time we put car in or out, plus the driving on & off / walking back & forth, the reality I live with is a approx a 5 minute process every time I park or retrieve my vehicle. You can increase that to >10min if either of my neighbours got their before me.
