20,000 Push-ups and Pull-ups in 30 Days Challenge (featuring David Goggins)

- I tweeted: "I will do as many push ups + pull ups next 30 days as this tweet gets likes, retweets & comments. No number is too high. Bring it." It got 20,000, which is 4+ times more than what I was originally mentally prepared for. Still, I said I'll do it, so I will. This is likely the toughest physical and mental thing I've ever done.
In 30 days, I will do 20,000 push-ups + pull-ups, 35,000 bodyweight reps, and run 180 miles.
For 30 days, every day I'm doing the following:
- 6 miles running
- 510 push-ups
- 170 pull-ups
- 170 ab rollers
- 340 squats
That's 34 rounds of:
- 15 push-ups
- 5 pull-ups
- 5 ab rollers
- 10 squats
Target time for 1 round above (including rest) is 2 minutes. This may not be feasible. We'll see.

Good luck! Enjoy!
Lex, seek the iron wolf and burpees king. You're welcome.
Time lapse all of those exercises for us to see, now get after it! Also, good luck ☮️

That much exercise in that lil time is not for the sake of health so much as death. That's intense good luck

Why isn't Goggins running while talking to you, strange.
He just had his knee surgery recently so he’s doing upper body work for a while I guess.
@@khuong-duytran3663 what happened to his knee?
A Formula I don’t know the injury’s name but you can follow his journey. He has been running a few day after since I posted that respond. And btw sorry for my English just in case 😇

I have attempted to meditate many times in my life and prior to this CD the only success I've experienced is with live guided meditation. czcams.com/users/postUgkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIatrsq This is the first CD I've used that cuts through my unmedicated ADHD and enables me to truly relax and experience a quiet and energizing interval. The instructors voice is very soothing and pleasant to listen to. I am easily able to sit successfully through the entire CD, and for quite some time after. I cannot adequately express how tremendously helpful this CD has been on my spiritual journey!! Two thumbs up and 10 stars!
- 6 miles running
- 510 push-ups
- 170 pull-ups
- 170 ab rollers
- 340 squats
man... that is a lot. Did Lex successfully complete this? All of it seems doable but 170 pull ups a day is pretty fucking nuts.
It is not doable unless you are extremely fit and strong already. Whoever says otherwise is telling on himself. I have actually tried something similar in style, but far less demanding. You will develop tendinitis in a week or two if not sooner, which will prevent you from completing the challenge and exercising all together.
That is not doable for somebody who hasnt trained. That is hell even for most very fit people. Running and squats are chill if you are fit and have time, but your shoulders and elbows will be crushed (probably knees too), you will feel like shit, probably will get sick, wont be able to work at your usual capacity, will need a lot of sleep
@@idealsAREisomorphic The pushups too will lead to injuries in the shoulder blades unless the pushups are performed with perfect form. I've done pushups (far fewer) for every day for a month, and I got injured.
@@poofypoof6508 I believe you. I’ve never had issues with push ups aside from general fatigue building up, but I did once develop a tendinitis in the armpit area from a couple of weeks of everyday pull ups. And I was pretty good at pull ups, mind you!
Lol have you ever seen a prisoner work out? They can do all this in 45 minutes 💀 well the workout part, not the running part lol
After seeing the relative difficulty of that round, I am really looking forward for this. Go for it! 💪
I can hear Joe Rogan in the background..."Lex, you've opened yourself up for some pain and suffering...best of luck"
the secret that i learned is: dont think too much, just do it
I like to remind myself that skipping this workout is going to be the first of many skipped workouts

@@Wrathos that's funny because your name is nick. Not quite right but close.
And so far I completed day 2 of every exercise
That's a pretty bad advice. Works in some context, but not in other context.
Also ispired from Goggins, I did a 30-day challenge similar to this from April 3 to May 4. Mine was
150 pushups
50 pullups
200 jump squats
5 Km running
1 and a half hour concentrated studying
To be honest the hardest thing to me was the studying part.
But your numbers are a different ballgame. I'm joining in once I'm done with my current challenge! I'll be watching closely. Stay hard.
P.S. You'll suffer, but you'll be a different animal in 30 days.
i hate study
According to Goggins if you hate studying, thats why you should do it, best of luck
Different animal for sure, probably something like road kill, but different for certain!🤣✌🏼
150 push ups in a month 50 pulls ups in a month 1 hour and a half of concentrated studying in a month what teh fuck?

There’s no way he can achieve 666 pull ups a day lol
Do 1 to 25 and back down to 1 equals 625 push ups
This challenge is beyond my capabilities but I’m going to do 200 squats per day for 30 days. That will be just enough of a challenge for me personally while still remaining doable. I’ll be rooting you on, Lex! Don’t get injured, please!!!
how did it go?
Thanks for this lex, I’ve been meaning to get started with my exercise for a while now and this just convinced me to get off my ass 💪
Take a "before" pic. Then you can see progress and take an "after" pic :)
Good idea !
There won’t be much change after 30 days, but doing that much volume I think we’ll certainly see some minor differences in physique
Yeah after all that work I think it would be a disappointment lol
Josh Wallace I think there will be a difference too, I just don’t think it’ll be as dramatic as you think. Even if you take a novice and pump them full of Dianabol and make them do compound lifts 5x a week for a month you’re still not going to see a ridiculous difference just because a month is such a short time. I could be wrong though. I’m down to see lex get ripped.
@@tonyh1345 The change probably won't be visible with the shirt on, but without it I think it would be more than noticeable. I don't think he'll change in terms of measurements, but he'll have a much more defined muscles and less fat.
Wow! My new years resolution for 2019 was to do 20,000 pullups leading up to 2020. Doing that in a month is a totally different animal. But it seems like you have a good plan and a lot of motivation. You have humbled me, sir. I look forward to following your progress with this incredible goal!
Lex, I’m in the middle of a 90 day challenge that involves physical endurance. Once my 90 day is complete, I will challenge myself like this. Thank you and may the pain and suffering begin
I need motivation, the number of likes + replies is the number of push-ups I’ll do by the end of June.
Good luck!
duh
Goooo
By now it will be 0.4 push-ups per day. Keep it up!
We’ll want proof
Thank you for being such an inspiration Lex.
This is truly inspirational. I'm gonna do my best to keep up.
Thanks Lex and David ✊

I respect you for taking this upon yourself. I'm recovering from a car wreck and have just started jogging and doing bodyweight exercise. Your channel imparts much knowledge as well as wisdom. You are intelligent and well spoken. The world needs more people like yourself.
The answer to: "What do I do when things get tough?" is gold. Thank you very much for this.
Nothing but love for you, like everyone else on here. Keep motivating minds and bodies.
Loving it man. started doing something similar to get in shape. I'm going to have to up my planning and dedication. Good luck. New sub for sure.
If Goggins says it will be hard, it's a wrap my guy.
God damn I was just typing about push ups being not all the way up when he said about me being in my mom's basement and he was wrong only about the cheetos
I was literally reading this as he said it. Funny thing is, I hopped off my Apple TV to open CZcams to talk shit about his push-up as well! Fuck.
😆🤣😆
Awesome idea Lex. I recently have been motivating myself to run 2 miles a day but this is on a whole 'nother level. I'm gonna follow your progress closely and I will challenge myself to do the same next month if you are successful. Remember, don't get injured! (a day or two a week of recovery + cold / hot water therapy may be needed to prevent injury). Hang in there!
I'm excited for this colab to happen. Congrats on taking this insane challenge on, Lex!
Lex!!! Try and post regular updates, especially when you're hurting so we can motivate you and send you positive feedback. Plus it will be inspiring to see you push this challenge. Good luck!
Do before-and-after pictures, one each week. It'll be interesting to see with such a hardcore routine how much the body actually changes.
Belive me, it changes. More plates more dates.

Go for it man! An inspiration to me and everyone else. Will be really interesting to see how you progress. Especially the pull ups. When I was in Taiwan I was doing pull-ups most days (outside free exercise parks there - should have them everywhere) and eventually had to stop because I got really bad tendonitus that persisted for months afterwards. I was doing as many as I could each set so will be interesting to see you breaking down into fewer reps and much more in total over such a long time - how you improve and how your body conditions.
whoa!! I love it when two heroes appreciate each other.
Hello Lex, thank's a lot for the inspiring work on your channel. I have huge respect for your serious and good prepared informations. I like the way you do what you are doing. For me you are a very humble, confident and hard working man with a good heart. Good luck for your challenge. 👍 Best regards from Germany
Go Lex, going to be interesting to see what you mentally draw from this experience. Looking forward to the updates.

As I nod to David Goggins I would suggest hell month (like buds hell week). Although ill admit the devils challenge sounds so much cooler.
Loooooooooool that was epic!
Thats like 333 pull ups and 333 push ups, first two weeks gon be hell

Good luck with the challenge and staying mainly injury-free. Spreading that Goggins mentality right there 👌
i will join in... As a spectator :)
GOGGINS!! he helped me out a lot listening to his amazing book. lmao RIP Lex
Hey Lex, I’m with you for the challenge. I’ll be focusing mostly on the pushups and pull-ups since I have a bad knee injury at the moment. If I might add a suggestion for the running. While the distance isn’t too crazy, you may benefit from doing two of your rounds prior to the run. In my experience, if you can activate your quads, core, and glutes before the run, you will be less likely to get injured. This will help to prevén runners knee, which is very common for distance runners.
We love you brother every time I have a bad day man I just go to this video and fight through whatever is bugging me. It really helps me get tested. I'm a CNC set up operator. Then I run production for atlest 9.5 hours a day this does help thank lex keep hard stay hard.
Man you killed it with first 3 minutes lmao
You can do It!! 💪
Dang Lex, that's awesome. Ain't nothin' to but to do it now bud. This video is gonna make me challenge myself somehow. Thanks Lex. Good luck
Lex, high commendations for the follow through. Very inspiring :)
I did a 1000 pull ups during May. At the beginning I could barely do 3 pull ups in a row. At the end I could do solid 8-9 pull ups in a row. But my old shoulder injury from jiu jitsu came back during the process. So I’m just trying to recover right now, it’s pretty painful. Your challenge sounds tough man. Best of luck, I wish you no injuries.
how is your shoulder doing?
Hi Lex, this really inspired me. I workout on a regular basis and started doing jiu-jitsu thrice a week from this year. On top of that I've added a challenge. To do 50 pull-ups and 100 pushups for the entire year. 17 days in, going good.
Bro,
Pls do some legs workout 🥲 lmfao.
Has it been everyday still
I needed this. Thanks to both of you.
You're great.. I like your humbleness so much. People like you and David Goggings restore my hope for humanity.
Lex, you should do a body transformation video during this month !
It's just 30 days. Not much transformation happens in such a short amount of time especially if there is not much resting time. Work out for 3 month with proper resting days you will see results.
Time to go back on JRE😂。you’re my favorite guest.
I'm with you Lex! I'll commit to doing 20 pulls ups in the next 30 days! Solidarity.
I want you to know u have inspired me to get tf after it today- stay hard!

I am joining you in quiet suffering, but I will be wearing my headphones and singing along as I run across America 3000miles... ish
Hey good luck Lex. Seems very hard but stay strong, spread it out in a smart way and go get it

Love it! I woke this morning and decided that I would do 500 push ups ( I think I was dreaming about Goggins. lol), having never done more than about 30 in a day. However I have slacked and only managed 130. I have two hours and 10 minuets left of the day. I'm inspired to meet the target thanks to your video. Awesome challenge Lex. Good luck! Now I'm going to get after it :)
