Thank you! I was trying to fix my sons PS5 for about an hour and I could not work out what was wrong. Your video fixed it. One thing I would advise people with a PS5 is to turn off Rest Mode or Power Saving Mode. It causes a lot of crashes.
How do we do that. And what do you recommend to do. First time this has happend

I was skeptical, but unplugging everything (TV, PS5, and all HDMI cables) for 1 min worked. Thanks!
I was freaking out because nothing was working. Last thing I tried was unplugging my tv (didn’t think it was even gonna help) AND IT WORKED! 🙏😭😭❤️❤️ thank you!!!!
Lol I had to do the same thing
Mines won’t come on at all lol 😂
Thanks boss, I was freaking out. In the end I think it is an HDMI issue with my TV (which is barely a year old 😠) but these steps helped me work through it. The biggest relief of all is knowing that other people have gone through the same thing, and found the solution!
What tv did you have?
Thank you! It was the hdmi switcher for me, as soon as I plugged it into my actual tv it worked 👍
Legend my friend I just had to unplug it for a minute and try again and all was fixed
Thanks. I unplugged everything, no power for 15 minutes and good to go. I set mine up new out of box on my sister's tv. Then brought it home to my tv with no display. So this worked.
Thank you! Unplugging the TV for a minute worked for me!
Just stopped by to say thank you and it worked for me as there was a power flicker and then full outage in my area and I was about to be pissed if something short circuited my ps5 even though I have it plugged to a surge protector it still freaked me out for a few minutes until I found your video

My monitior was just blinking , PS5 was on for a week straight monitor kept blinking I thought my monitor was broken , holding the power button got me back in business! Very informative clear and concise.
This worked! I’m so relieved! Also tentatively hoping this doesn’t happen again. In the back of my mind I’m still concerned that my PS5 is just going to pack up and stop working, because of the teething issues the console had in general upon release 😩
After I do "Change Resolution," it still goes to black after the PS logo. No chance to change the settings.

It’s Christmas morning here in Australia. We bought a PS5 (digital) for our daughter. Can’t get it to display on TV 😫 Hoping this works: have already tried all suggestions. Will try again

What worked for me was unplugging EVERYTHING (Every wire into the PS5 & TV) let it rest for 5 minutes and then plug it all back in and it worked as normal 👍🏼

Thought the ps5 was toast. Turns out it was the tv. Unplugged it (even tho all tv functions seemed normal) as a last resort and it worked!!!
Genius.
Thanks for posting this video my dood ❤️❤️
Broooooo, I fvcking love you. I’ve reset my ps5 like 7 times and once I read your comment about the TV, had to try it. Almost cried of joy, thank you so much.

This was a really helpful video thank you I was freaking out for a little bit and then I found your video so thanks
Your video helped me a lot. I was desperate. Didn't know about safe mode and manual setting video output for Panasonic Viera.Thank you
This is how I fixed mine.
I very much appreciate anyone that takes the time to make such a great step by step guide to fix a problem like this one.
And looking at the comments it has worked for many people.
However it did not work for me.
I could not get safe mode to come up.
So I thought I might post how I got mine fixed.
My Ps5 was not being detected by the TV input so it had not picture or sound.
But I was able to see it on my phone using the remote play app.
What I did to fix it was plug my Ps5 into a hdmi jack on my tv that only outputs 1080p.
Then my tv detected it and it showed up.
Then I set the Ps5 to 1080p.
After that I connected my Ps5 back to the 4k jack on the tv and set the PS5 back to 4k.
This fixed it.
I Hope maybe this might help someone get their ps5 working.
which application ?

How does safe mode help no image issue?? My ps5 goes into safe mode, and I still can't see it..my encoder chip may be bad, but there's no shorts anywhere around it
Did you ever fix it let me know please ?
@@jgetta2 I can't remember. Too long ago. Check the pins on the HDMI port where they attach to the board. I can't tell you how many "new" consoles I've had where those pins weren't even attached to the motherboard..(great job Sony !) Also there are Zenor diode near the port that go bad(underside of the board near the port legs), and a 6 legged mosfet/transistor?( Not sure what is called) but they all control video.. Also check the large magnetic module behind the Ethernet port.(It has 20 or so legs. If any of those pins beep when using the multimeter, the Southbridge is most likely bad... Hard for me to say if I'm not looking at it myself. Good luck to you

Same issue, here's how I fixed it.
30 second hard unplugged reset.
BUT check your TV hdmi ports and put the hdmi in the non-4k hmdi slot if you have one. I was able to get a picture on this (hdmi 3) and not hdmi 1 & 2. I then on the hard reset menu selected video output settings and I selected 2060. After the system restarted it was fine. I went back onto hdmi 1 and it finally appeared on screen 🙌👏
I was not sure wether to select automatic or 2060? Should I Press 2060 to watch it In 120 hz? 4K
@@kennethmogensen1341 I went with 2060 and its been perfect for me since.

@@davegames9492 No I manged to solve the problem by reseting PS5. So I had to re-download my games again
For anyone having this issue now, I've just fixed mine by: Unplugging the power cable, HDMI cable, and External USB Hard Drive (if you have one), and I also unplugged my TV power cable whilst I was there to save having to try that later. I waited for about 5 minutes (waiting 1 minute should be fine but waiting an extra few minutes is good just to be 100% sure that there's been plenty of time for the power to drain from the capacitors inside your PS5). After 5 minutes I plugged everything back in except my USB External Hard-drive, because I've seen a comment from someone saying that this caused their problem, so I wanted to see if the PS5 would boot up without the external drive plugged in. The PS5 booted up and the TV worked fine. So I shut down my PS5 and then turned it back on again just to be 100% sure it wouldn't have the same problem next time I shut it down. Once the PS5 turned on again for a second time successfully, I then shut it down and plugged my external drive back in, and booted it up again. Thankfully the screen turned on and all is fine now. I don't know which part of my method fixed the problem (I suspect Graphics Card issue inside the PS5), because my TV was flickering between grey and black when my PS5 was on, but not flickering when changed the source to my SkyTV box or anything else. Therefore unplugging the power cable and HDMI cable from the PS5 would've drained any power and outputs from the Graphics card.
I'm having a problem when I turn my ps5 on nothing happens the light just flash's blue any help would be appreciated I only got it yesterday and it was working perfectly then today nothing is happening.
I currently have the same issue. I am able to get around this issue by switching the hdmi cable to a 1080p port on the tv.
Unplug your tv for 1 minute this fixes that issue
Thanks for your help. I thought my PlayStation 5 stopped working. But, it turns out that I have to change the resolution settings because of my tv. In my opinion, the HDMI cable is not an issue is just the tv you have to find out what tv you have. Because every flat screen tv has a hdmi cable and you have to choose the correct resolution in order for it to work. For your own tv. I just figured it out. Also, there’s 4 options or choose the resolution. 720p, 1080i, 1080p, and 2160p high def. Now I know how to do this. Again, thanks for your help. 👍🖥🖥🎮🎮.
Thanks for the video. Going into safe mode and resetting the resolution really saved me.

Bro u saved my live my life much love
Another step, that I found, was my TV was the issue. After restart it worked perfectly. Good old "smart" TVs. I know the features are good, but this is a 2019 model Sony bravia oled, was top of the line. And easily confused by hdmi signals.
Thanks bro you’re a legend
How do you restart a tv?????
@@twistedgale power cycle/take out power cable and reinsert after 1 - 2 minutes to make sure that all power is has been used up (if you only do a few seconds it can retain power in capacitors etc or if you leave power cable in but just turn off and on, the power is still in the TV so doesn't guarantee a restart. Then if all else fails, factory reset on the android TV/TV settings, that can help but is last resort as it will forget everything).
