Tom Holland was actually the one who kept his own accent in check when they filmed the first Spider-Man movie because they just couldn't hear the difference between his American and British accents, so he always viewed the takes to make sure he sounded right. I remember a story he told about one time he was like "We have to do a new take" and the Director asked him why, because it sounded good to him and Tom Holland responds something like "I'm literally saying 'hi mate, how's it goin'". 😂
I think it was after they filmed it and he entered while they we reviewing material and they changed it to another angle so you couldn't see his face and he could do a voice over and say it in American accent
I remember watching civil war and he takes Caps shield and says hey guys I’m spider man. And that sounded really British to me.
Tom Holland does amazing in his American accent roles. The only other British actor I've ever seen do American accent SO perfectly was Hugh Laurie. As an American, my first introduction to him was in House MD and I had NO idea he was British. He's so good.
Gary Oldman has a perfect American Accent.
Hi guys, Lauren here 🇬🇧 as you can tell I’m a massive Tom Holland fan 😅 hope you enjoyed!!
I'm so glad that you are back and also doing videos with Christina , my favorite duo and you really like Tom Holland , cute 😅🥰
Really enjoy seeing you on this channel Lauren. As a Tom Holland fan though you should be aware that that was a clip of him giving an interview in his normal British accent, not him doing an American accent in a movie. He switches into an American accent for one phrase during the interview, is all.
@@dwsoccer6859 yesss i actually said that during filming but they edited it out!
Wait... you like Tom Holland...? 😂
@@hanappoi omg how did you know x
The Tom Holland's clip was from one of his interviews where he was explaining a story of himself being at an American school. He was switching between accents on purpose. Whoever chose this clip either wanted to confuse the girls or cannot really differentiate between the two accents. Tom Holland is very flexible in switching between American and English accents, and he does it a lot in his interviews.
Ok.
American english
Henry Cavill AKA Superman is also from UK 🇬🇧, but he has some American Accent 🇺🇲
Bruh Im from France 🇫🇷. US and UK always gets all the credits
His American accent is okay. He sounds like an American in the 1800s sometimes. Very posh compared to modern American accents. He's better than some of the celebrities used in this video.
@@christophermichaelclarence6003 Because the subject is the US and the UK, got nothing to do with the French
@@cheman579 My apologies
Lauren's Crush that we know so far :
-Harry Kane ( a british Tottenham player )
-Tom Holland ( A british actor )
-Me ( i wish ) p.s = love you , Lauren 😁😂🇬🇧
Tom Holland is a Tottnham fan, so I guess She is from North London..
@@MrPark97 No, she said she's from somewhere near Liverpool even though she doesn't sound Scouse.
@@amorphous7474 Makes sense.
@@amorphous7474 She's a Liverpool fan though
It's not common see Christina and Lauren apart , these two usually are in the same side with each other , even though one is 🇺🇲 and the other is 🇬🇧
Seemingly, many of us agree that we like it when Christina and Lauren are present.
@@stanleylynch1106 yes best duo
I enjoyed switching it up this time and hearing others try a different accent! Hope you guys enjoyed watching :) -Christina 🇺🇸
See you and Lauren in a conversation is really enjoyable and funny and your partner Lauren really loves Tom Holland 😂🇬🇧🇺🇲🕷🕸
@@henri191 hahaha yeah she is a big fan!! 😂
hahahahaha... tom holland aura
Can't believe they didn't mention Hugh Laurie. He does a bang on American accent.
@John Smith And Hugh Jackman (realizing he’s Australian) has a great American.
"Addie Redmayne" instead of Eddie. lol 😂
We have two teams : US White shirt and UK Black shirt , great job , girls 🇬🇧🇺🇲
Am I not getting the reference? O_o
@Aaron9 nope- they call me innocent
Hello everyone~ Hannah here 🇬🇧 I felt bad rating these accents considering I'm so terrible at them myself haha but I still had so much fun! 😂 Hope you all enjoy watching 🥰
Hello , Hana 👩🏻🦰 , you are being an amazing and funny addition by World Friends
Hello Hana. Honestly, I have a hard time distinguishing your British accent at times :-). I would think you play an American accent real easily. Really enjoy your positive energy, well, yours and the others :-)
Lauren’s reaction to tom’s voice was my reaction when I saw his picture 😂
Hugh Laurie as House. His American accent is SPOT ON. It is so good that seeing him on Black Adder clips actually surprised me.
I re-watched recently it and at the beginning there are a lot of moments when he makes mistakes.
@@vulkanofnocturne I never payed attention to his accent in the beginning because I didn't realize he was English. But show after show and he delivers the primary dialogue - that's pretty good.
Exactly!
Yes. I think he might actually be the best one I've heard.
Hmm... he sounds really English in House to me. His accent slips several times especially when he talks fast.
I love when Lauren said "pretty good" sounds like "preti gwed" I love you much Lauren
This clip is such a nice one to analyze the gap of accents.
I'm pretty sure the clip of Tom Holland was not him trying to do an American accent in a movie. It sounds like an interview where he was using his normal British accent in talking about doing an American accent which he then puts on at one point during the interview.
Woof, that sound effect when Christina shakes here hand no to doing a Cockney accent at the beginning... I thought my Slack notifications were blowing up.
My favourite Lauren is back 😜
Man, I'd love to see a Christina + Shannon & Lauren + Emily video
I think the Brit with the best American accent is Idris Elba. When I first saw Luther I genuinely thought he was acting British and didn't know til my mid 20s that he actually WAS British.
It's always good to see Lauren from the UK .
Laurens expression🤪 when she heard Tom was priceless🤗
All of the four women are gorgeous 🌹❤️
Oh my goodness Callie gave the chair it's right😍
It took me so long to realize that Hugh Laurie (the actor who plays Dr. House) is actually British. His American accent is really good!!
Hope we see more of Callie.
Benedict Cumberbatch is amazing at imitating the American accent in The power of the dog. Damn this man is so incredible, I hope he wins the academy award. Ok, yes, I am crushing a bit
Christina, Callie, Lauren and Hannah is so pretty
Kate Winslet played the role as Rose
Hugh Laurie in Dr. House, couldn't tell he was british. He really nail the american accent.
Im like Lauren at 8:10 im obssessed with him and he is a ten obviously, he is so lovely. I LOVE HIM 🥰❤💙🤍
hands down Jodie comer is one of my favourite accent actors, she does it so effortlessly but her natural Scouse is obviously the most beautiful
Australian celebrities do great American 🇺🇸 accents too I feel like Rose Byrne, Margot Robbie and Chris Hemsworth.
Margot Robbie doing this pacific Northwest accent was incredibale.
@@AlphaCentauriBwow i literally thought Margot Robbie was American
I like the Brit chix, they're cute.
They're all pretty cute tbh
birds
I love this content so much. Do this more please! Invite Australian again please 🥺
Another video with a lot of fun! Love these types of videos from you and your whole squad, Christina! Cheers from Brazil! :)
Edward Norton did a brilliant RP British accent, in kingdom of Heaven
ADDIE Redmayne!!?? His name is EDDIE!! Oscar winner no less!!
This is exciting. Why don't make more video of this? I mean more video like this one.
Kate Winslet in Eternal Sunshine actually sounded good in american accent (not in Titanic tho).
She wasnt trying to be American, in Titanic
Tom Holland switched them back and forth so fast that it was actually kind of jarring. I was amazed. As an American, I can definitely say that even if I were to do an accident I’d need a second for my brain to switch it but he could do it mid sentence with 0 hesitation.
Let’s make Tom Holland see this
Tom sounded pretty British to me too, honestly. It was hard to tell when he switched - it all had a bit of a British undertone to me. Maybe that’s just because I’m Southern and so anyone who’s the least bit posh will sound British to me 😂 idk
It all sounded British to my American ears too.
He only switched once I think and he wasn't really trying to do it properly because he was just casually talking on a talk show instead of actually trying to act for something.
@@Oxley016 that’s true, that makes sense.
I don't know if anyone said it yet, but Andrew Lincoln from the walking dead as Rick does and excellent job with southern accent.
HE IS A BRIT? wow i didn't know that
@@buccaschie Yeah kinda shocking. cuz I'm always just blown away from his interviews elsewhere.
Hi 👋🏽 ladies from the 🇺🇸
As an American, Tilda Swinton, by far had the best American accent, while the others' performances are not even close.
?
yeah, perhaps they needed some kind of regional accent. The British talk too fast, they are on speed.
Tom Holland has really good queen's accent.
Completely disagree. Eddie's accent was much more convincing.
What a joke.Just because she's a great actress doesn't mean you have to exaggerate about this. It wasn't even close to an American accent and she was clearly struggling with the transition. Eddie was entirely American, all the way through.
Tilda Swinton is an amazing actress and in this Canadian's opinion she's the only one who nailed the American accent.
Eh?
Rachel Weisz does a great American accent.
I totally agree with Cali
I scored 100% because some fool showed their photos.
The title should be "Count how many times they say Tom Holland"😁 Anyway, it's a great video. Like seeing these girls together in the video
It was fun, but I wanted just a few more examples. No doubt there will be follow up videos, but just when you start getting invested in the challenge, it was over. Still fun though. And I want to hear more examples of American actors doing British accents as well. And a few Aussie as Americans/British accents too.
Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes threw me off when I found out he was British
Now you have to do "Americans & British React to American stars attempting BRITISH ACCENTS!"
I’m used to follow that kind of videos for a special reason: Christina
should have had some charlie hunnam clips
My list:
Matthew Rhys from the series The Americans
Christian Bale
Kate Winslet
Went looking for the Tom holland part and found it bc CZcams called it “most replayed”
Me hears Millie Bobby Brown:
STRANGER THINGS-
Tom Holland 😂
Aw the first emma watson clip, was from the move Perks of Being a Wallflower. I got the feels when I heard emma said "charlie" once again. A biy off topic but thats my comfort movie hahaha
Hello from Uzbekistan i always watch yours videos it is very interesting. Good luck!
I'm shocked that Emilia Clarke, Emily Blunt, Christian Bale, Robert Pattinson and Henry Cavill weren't on here
Emilia Clarke did a great American accent as well! 👍🏻
Lauren ❤❤❤
The best Brit with American accents… Christian Bale
The best american accent from british actor goes to martin freeman in fargo
The intonation is definitely the toughest thing to pull off. American accents can be easier to do if you pick a rather generic one, since a good portion of the US speaks in the that way. British accents have a lot more small inflections that make them pretty difficult to pull off if you don't hear them all the time. As an American, it's easier to pick an individual and go with their accent, than to try a regional one just cold.
Tilda was scored too highly, in my opinion. Not only the "I don't know" but the way she elongated "memorandum" was very telling.
Why didn't you do Tom Hardy? He is really good!
Eddie Redmayne sounded like an American with a San Francisco accent to me. You don't hear it much anymore.
I’d love to see this again but with more regional American accents (Boston, New York, New Orleans, etc.)
7:03
Tom Ellis ? From lucifer!
I realize that I'm a bit older than these lovely ladies, but I have to say that Hugh Laurie does one of the best American accents I've heard.
Age is just a num... Wait. Sometimes is really important but... What I'm trying to say is... Nevermind. xD :D
He's complained about how after doing House for a few years he can now hear his own English accent when he goes back to his natural speech. That is, he can *never* not hear his own accent when he's speaking.
Tôn hollanb ❤️🥰🇧🇷❤️🥰🇧🇷❤️🥰🇧🇷❤️🥰🇧🇷❤️🥰
Damian Lewis does a dead-on American accent. The first thing I saw him in was "Band of Brothers", and, I just assumed he WAS American until I saw him on a talk show.
How about a episode of Australian/new Zealand actors doing American accents
Christian Bale. Even as a Brit, I sometimes forget he’s from here!
I was waiting for this comment. :D
Dark Knight Trilogy anyone..
Tom has a Neutral Americsn Accent but his real Accent is stronger more British
So you're telling me you DIDN’T PUT IDRIS ELBA IN THIS!? He is the ONLY British person with an OUTSTANDING American accent!!😭
Addie?? Eddie!
This just proves to me that as an American, I prefer our accent better than the Brits’…
They all sounded a little off, but overall pretty good. Good enough people would at least think they just had a very specific regional accent.
Eamonn Walker, of Chicago Fire, Elyes Gabel(formerly on Scorpion), David Olyelowo, are good with American accents.
I can't be the only one who says hello with them.
Thanks ladies, that was fun. I'm South African, and what always breaks me up is when my countrymen (and women) go to the States for a while and come back with what they fondly imagine is an American accent. I've spent a fair time in Canada, where most of my English speaking friends are from the U.S. and I do find myself 'translating' words into American where they probably wouldn't recognise the South African/U.K. version.
Some examples of this would be 'ketchup' and 'eraser'. When I'm with American friends I always use these terms, because most of them wouldn't readily understand 'tomato sauce' (tomato with an 'ah') and might be embarrassed if I started talking about 'rubbers' (erasers). In fact, a South African friend of mine, studying in the U.S. almost lost his vacation job because he asked a woman colleague if she could lend him a rubber.
Jump to 6:55. Didn't want to say it but since it's a grammar mistake from a Brit, I needed to say it. Sorry for being a grammar Nazi but "most strongest" is one of the ghastly mistakes non-native English speakers still make i.e. the superlative error!
When Lauren said “dump Zendaya” the subtitles said ‘thumbs and tags’🤣
Time code pls?

Hello
Thanks!
"Addie" is a great actor
Christina looks more healthy nowadays 🤐
이런 영상 재밌네요 ㅋㅋ 종종해주셨으면
seriously!!! no Kate Winslet in Mare of Easttown nor Rosamund Pike in Gone Girl 😕.
The girl on the right judges the accents based on other people or when the actor switches...I think she may have ASD as she can't concentrate on different stimuli
I think that Emma Watson's ending T sounds are a bit too strong.
*Eddie Redmayne
Lauren got a crush Tom Holland she must be jealous of Zendaya right now 😂
I look at that thumbnail and I think, _Really? It's Christina who gets the exclamation point by her head?_
I thought Tilda’s american accent was way worse than Emma Watson’s
